Having Lost His Parents and Sister in the Persecution of Their Faith, Beijing Man Now Faces Prosecution

(Minghui.org) Mr. Yang Shijie’s parents, Mr. Yang Wenshan and Ms. Li Lianyu, took up Falun Gong, a spiritual and meditation discipline, in June 1996. The elderly couple credited the practice for quickly improving their health. After seeing their changes, their four children all followed in their footsteps and began to practice Falun Gong.

Mr. Yang’s younger sister, Ms. Yang Shifen, used to suffer from severe headaches and gynecological diseases. As a side effect of her chronic medication, she was very thin. After learning Falun Gong, all of her symptoms disappeared and she also gained some weight.

But the family’s happy life didn’t last long. Years after the Chinese Communist Party ordered the persecution of Falun Gong due to its overwhelming popularity in 1999, Mr. Yang’s parents and his younger sister passed away one after another. Mr. Yang and his two other sisters were arrested and detained.

Now Mr. Yang is facing prosecution following his arrest on March 11, 2021, after being reported for spending banknotes printed with information about Falun Gong (as a way to overcome the strict censorship in China to raise awareness about the persecution).

Parents’ and Sister’s Deaths

With the onset of the persecution, knowing that the entire Yang family practiced Falun Gong, officials from the village committee sent people to monitor them every day. The police ransacked the elderly couple’s home several times and confiscated their Falun Gong books and media player containing Falun Gong exercise music.

The mother, Ms. Li, was arrested three times for talking to people about Falun Gong and detained for a year.

When their four children were arrested for going to Beijing to appeal for the right to practice Falun Gong and faced the threat of losing their jobs, Ms. Li and her husband were dealt a heavy blow. Ms. Li’s health quickly deteriorated, and she passed away on September 9, 2000. She was 69.

Mr. Yang struggled to live by himself while constantly worrying about the safety of his children. He passed away on December 28, 2007, forty days after his son was released from serving a labor camp term. He was 77.

Ms. Yang Shifen was arrested three times shortly after the onset of the persecution. Following her fourth arrest in July 2001, she was taken to a brainwashing center, where she was beaten, deprived of sleep and denied any contact with her family. The guards forced her to watch propaganda materials demonizing Falun Gong. They also ordered her to write statements to renounce her faith.

Ms. Yang was harassed in 2015 for filing a criminal complaint against Jiang Zemin, the former head of the communist regime who ordered the persecution of Falun Gong. While the police didn’t arrest her, the harassment left her living in fear and under tremendous pressure.

After witnessing the police arresting her youngest sister, Ms. Yang Shimin, on March 11, 2016, she passed away six days later. She was 57.

Persecution of Mr. Yang Shijie

Mr. Yang was arrested in May 2006 when going to a property of his to collect rent from his tenants. The police brought him home and ransacked his place. The police also forced his wife to take them to his father’s home and found some Falun Gong informational materials there.

Mr. Yang was later given two years of forced labor. Although he was released ahead of time, his father passed away 40 days after he returned home.

Mr. Yang was arrested again on January 8, 2016, for filing a criminal complaint against Jiang Zemin. His Falun Gong books and an e-book reader were confiscated. He was released a week later.

Just prior to his latest arrest in March 2021, Mr. Yang was arrested at home on May 5, 2020. Some of his memory cards and flash drives were confiscated. He was held at the Shunyi Detention Center for a month.

Persecution of Two Other Sisters

The family’s youngest sister, Ms. Yang Shimin, was arrested on November 27, 2004, after being reported by security personnel for distributing Falun Gong materials in a residential area. She held a hunger strike to protest the arbitrary detention and was released seven days later.

A few weeks after she recovered, she was arrested again and directly taken to the Tiantanghe Forced Labor Camp to serve a two-year term.

Ms. Yang was arrested again on March 11, 2016 and detained for 30 days.

The family’s oldest sister (name unknown) was arrested five times and held in a brainwashing center twice between 1999 and 2003. She fell into a delirious state as a result of the abuse.

北京一家人炼法轮功遭中共打压 3人含冤离世

【大纪元2021年04月24日讯】杨士杰的母亲李连玉整天在伤心、恐吓中度日，于2000年9月9日含冤离世。

杨士杰的父亲杨文山孤独一人，承受儿女被非法劳教的痛苦，于2007年12月18日离世。

杨士杰的二妹杨士芬亲眼目睹警察绑架亲人的过程，遭受一次次失去亲人的痛苦，含冤离世，时年57岁。

2021年3月11日，北京顺义区法轮功学员杨士杰因用写有法轮功真相的人民币被人举报，被后沙峪派出所警察绑架到顺义区看守所，现已被批捕。

杨士杰，1957年出生，在父母的影响下走入法轮功修炼。中共1999年开始迫害法轮功后，他多次遭受迫害。

早在2006年5月，杨士杰在旧住处顺义区胜利小区16号楼下被北京海淀区清河派出所便衣绑架。杨士杰遭绑架后被带回新住处，遭到非法抄家，之后警察又逼迫其妻带路到他父母的家抄家。

后来杨士杰被非法劳教2年。

他因向两高递交对江泽民迫害法轮功的控告信，于2016年1月8日上午10点被顺义区仁和派出所3个警察绑架、非法抄家。一周后被释放回家。

2020年5月5日，北京市顺义区后沙峪派出所警察把杨士杰从家中绑架走，劫入顺义看守所。一个月后，他被释放。

2021年3月11日，杨士杰因使用真相币被绑架、非法关押至今。

一家人的遭遇

杨士杰的父母杨文山、李连玉夫妇于1997年6月先后开始炼法轮功，两人患的各种疾病消失，身体越来越健康、心情舒畅。

母亲李连玉没上过学，不认识字，后来却能通读法轮功主要著作《转法轮》一书。家中四个儿女看到父母的变化都走入了修炼。

杨士杰的二妹杨士芬曾患有顽固的头痛病和妇科病，因长期服药身体瘦弱，炼功后所有疾病症状消失，人长胖了，变得和气、善良。

父母在被迫害中离世

中共迫害法轮功后，杨士杰一家成为当地政府迫害的重点，村委会每天派人监视居住。

他母亲曾因向人讲法轮功真相三次被非法抓进拘留所，经受了一年多精神和肉体的双重摧残。

杨士杰兄妹4人为法轮功上访而被当地的公安机关非法拘留、关押、非法抄家，面临失去工作、孩子无人照顾等压力。

他父母在伤心、悲痛、惊恐中度日，身体每况愈下。母亲于2000年9月9日含冤离世。

父亲在失去老伴的痛苦中，又承受儿女们被迫害的压力，在杨士杰从劳教所被释放回家40天后，于2007年12月28日离世。

二妹杨士芬含冤离世

杨士杰的二妹杨士芬被当地胜利派出所警察3次绑架、抄家、关押在看守所。

2001年7月的一天，杨士芬在买菜的路上被当地“610”（专门迫害法轮功的非法机构）和派出所绑架到洗脑班，遭受打骂、体罚、不让睡觉、不让见家人等迫害。

2015年，杨士芬因实名控告江泽民被警察绑架。

2016年3月，杨士芬去妹妹家，亲眼目睹了妹妹被派出所警察绑架的过程，承受着极大的精神压力，6天后含冤离世。

小妹杨士敏和大姐多次被迫害

2004年11月27日，小妹杨士敏因发放法轮功真相资料被小区保安举报并绑架到光明派出所，她以绝食相抗争，7天后回到家中。

她身体刚刚恢复，几周后又被非法抓捕，在没有任何法律手续的情况下，被直接劫持到天堂河劳教所劳教2年。

2016年3月11日晚9点半，杨士敏因控告江泽民被顺义区仁和派出所的3个警察绑架，被非法关押了30天后释放。

杨士杰的大姐从1999年7月法轮功被迫害开始至2003年期间曾遭到5次非法拘留，2次被非法关进洗脑班。由于长期的迫害，大姐因压力过大而出现意识不清。

Cultivation Experiences of a Taiwanese Doctor

(Minghui.org) Taiwanese doctor Ku Kuang-ming came across Falun Dafa eight years ago. Since taking up the practice, he has persistently done the Dafa exercises as he feels that they improve his health and allow him to concentrate better on his job as a doctor.

The CCP Virus (Wuhan virus) pandemic spread to the whole world very quickly starting in 2019. The virus mutated quickly but the development of the vaccines could not keep up with the mutations. This made many people pause and think about the source and destination of life. It was only then that Dr. Ku realized that he had never truly understood the Fa principles as detailed in Falun Dafa. He reminded himself that he needed to spend more time studying the Fa to attain a deeper understanding. Based on his experience, he believes, “One can find the answers in Falun Dafa.”

Falun Dafa: A Once-in-an-Eternity Opportunity

Reflecting on his cultivation experience, Dr. Ku said that Falun Dafa helped him improve his morals. He is able to think more about the needs of other people first, instead of what he wants. He said that his job as a doctor requires him to be on duty every day, and there are often conflicts about the duty roster. Dr. Ku explained, “Among our colleagues, some have families. There are times when something comes up within the family. Therefore, we need to take everyone’s situation into consideration.”

Dafa cultivation gradually helped him become a better doctor, and eventually, a department head in-charge. He is a leader who cares for his subordinates.

However, the greatest change in Dr. Ku since he took up cultivation practice is that he can look within for mistakes. For example, when there is a conflict among his colleagues, he will look inside for the source of the conflict. Dr. Ku emphasized that a true change occurs only when he changes his mindset. He puts his own gains aside. He knows that whatever is meant to be his, will eventually be his. Going a step further, he understood that that does not mean not wanting anything or wanting everything: “Only by giving up that thing in the heart fundamentally, is it truly letting go.” He understood that cultivating in Dafa requires one to understand things from the most basic foundation.

Falun Dafa practitioners cultivate among people in ordinary society, and therefore, a practitioner will naturally meet with many types of difficult situations. For Dr. Ku, allocating his time between his job as a doctor and attending events to introduce Falun Dafa is a difficult task. Yet he usually treats it with a calm mind. As he practices the Fa principles in his daily life, Dr. Ku realized that cultivating in modern society is more difficult than joining a temple or climbing into a cave in the mountains. However, as this way of cultivation is more difficult, the more one cultivates, the more one understands the vast depth and limitless reach of Dafa.

Dr. Ku said with gratitude, “Being able to encounter Dafa is a once-in-an-eternity opportunity.” After cultivating in Dafa, Dr. Ku realizes that he is a most fortunate being, and thus he is determined to follow Falun Dafa’s founder Master Li Hongzhi.

Cultivation Is a Continuous Process of Getting Rid of Attachments

As a department head in-charge, Dr. Ku’s own scope of work is already packed, but he still tries to find time to promote the Fa and help people understand the goodness of Dafa. However, given his busy schedule, Dr. Ku became grumpy easily. Not only does he often complain about his work, he also complains about his family, too.

One day, Dr. Ku suddenly had a pain in his foot. Based on his understanding of the Fa, he knew that he needed to look within to find the attachment he needed to eliminate. He realized that it was his grudge against his job and family. After letting go of this grudge from his heart, Dr. Ku’s mood became relaxed and his feet recovered very quickly. He personally experienced the miraculous effects of looking within. Through this incident, he understood that cultivation in Dafa requires one to look for attachments in every thought as one goes through daily life.

Dr. Ku understands that cultivation is a continuous process: getting rid of attachments. He also realized that his inner soul will be filled with harmony and benevolence when he can let go of himself and think of others first in everything that he does. Dr. Ku shared, “My state of mind at that time, that type of ‘free of troubles’ mood, is something that goes beyond the joy and bliss of this mundane world.”

As a Doctor, I Have the Responsibility to Expose the Truth About the CCP’s Live Organ Harvesting

Dr. Ku was shocked when he learned about the Chinese Communist Party’s (CCP) organ harvesting from living Falun Dafa practitioners. He believes that this is the greatest shame in humankind.

He said, “The CCP has not only mobilized the whole country’s system to persecute Falun Dafa practitioners, and persecutes the righteous Fa and righteous Dao, it does not have a conscience and even sells practitioners’ organs for profit. Most people have chosen to pretend to be oblivious [to this] and remain silent, but I want to expose this atrocity and let more people know the truth. I want to let the whole world realize everything about the evil nature of the CCP.”

Cultivation Can Resolve the Mysteries of Empirical Science

One day after work, while meditating in his office, Dr. Ku suddenly understood one of Dafa’s teachings. As a doctor who uses modern scientific methods to treat his patients, Dr. Ku saw how modern medical treatments have helped improve people’s health in the course of his work. This shows that empirical science is effective to a certain extent. However, Dr. Ku also has his spiritual belief. In that case, what does he truly believe in? He believes, “The perspective of science is limited to the material world. Whatever science cannot explain is considered non-scientific. However, when one truly experiences spiritual powers, one will realize that spiritual beliefs are truly existent.”

Therefore, Dr. Ku studies the Dafa books continuously and has gained understandings into many more principles of the Fa. He understood that empirical science and spiritual belief are totally different things, but spiritual belief has higher and deeper connotations. This understanding pressed Dr. Ku to be even more diligent in his cultivation in Dafa.

Today, apart from treating patients, Dr. Ku makes use of his spare time to introduce Falun Dafa, so that more people can come to know about this highly virtuous cultivation practice.

一位台湾医师的修炼体悟

【明慧网二零二一年十月十三日】（明慧记者清汉台湾报道）八年前，台湾医师古光明遇到了法轮大法（也称法轮功）。得法后，他有空就炼功学法，感觉五套功法动作舒畅，让他身体更健康，更能专注于医疗工作。

二零一九年开始，中共病毒（武汉肺炎）疫情迅速蔓延全球，病毒变异快速，疫苗追不上病毒，从而引发人们思考精神层面的问题，探索生命的来源与归宿。此时，古光明医师才意识到，自己一直以来没有悟透大法法理，他提醒自己要用更多的时间学法，更深入了悟大法，深信：“从法轮大法中能够找到答案。”

修炼法轮大法是万古机缘

谈起修炼的心路历程，古光明医师说，修炼法轮大法使他的道德渐渐升华了。

修炼后比较能为他人着想了，他说，每天的医疗工作需要排班，排班中往往会有纠纷发生：“同事里，有的人有家庭，家里突然有什么事，要考量每个人的情况。”

就这样，渐渐的，大法修炼让他成为一个更好的医师、关心部属的主管。

而修炼后最大的差别，就是能随时向内心找不足、找错误的地方，比如同事间有矛盾时，找矛盾的原因。他强调，思想上根本的改变，才是真正的改变，一切顺其自然，把自己的利益放一边，该是你的就是你的；他進一层了解，不是什么都不要，不是所有东西都不要：“从内心放弃，才是真正的放弃。”他悟到，修大法要从细微处去参悟。

法轮大法让修炼人在一般社会环境中修，在芸芸众生中修，自然会遇到纷杂的事情，古光明以平静的心，来分配繁忙的医疗工作与弘法项目。实践中他体会，不入深山寺院，在社会中修炼比较困难，也因为比较难修才能修得高，而且越修炼，越了解大法的博大精深、大法的高深莫测。

他感恩的说：“遇到大法是万古机缘，修大法才知道，自己是最幸福的生命，决心跟随大法师父一修到底。”

修炼是不断去执著心的过程

身为主管，本身医疗工作就很忙，他还想抽时间弘法，让社会上的人了解大法的美好。但忙碌中，不知不觉的，古光明变得很容易抱怨，对工作有抱怨，对家人也有抱怨。

有一天，无来由的脚痛，他从法理中体悟到，要从内心找，有什么执著心放不下，后来找到是自己有对工作、对家人的怨恨心，他把怨恨心那块石头从内心放下后，心情就轻松了，没几天，脚也不感觉痛了，他亲身感受到向内找的神奇奥妙。从这件事，古医师体会，大法修炼要从生活的一思一念中找执著。

对于修炼就是不断去执著心的过程，古光明有了更深切的理解。同时，他更体悟到，能放下自我，凡事为他人着想时，内心会充满祥和慈悲：“那时的心境，那种大自在的心情，是任何人间的享乐和幸福无法比拟的。”

身为医师有责任揭露活摘器官真相

古光明了解到中共活摘法轮功学员器官的恶行后，惊讶那是对人类最大的羞辱，对人性尊严最大的践踏。

他愤慨的说：“中共动用国家机器迫害法轮功学员，迫害正法正道，竟然丧尽天良贩卖修炼者的器官牟利。大部份人漠视，保持沉默，我要把这个残酷事实暴露出来，让更多人知道真相，让全世界的人了解中共的邪恶本质。”

修炼能解开实证科学的迷思

一天下班后，在诊间里打坐时古医师悟到，身为利用现代科学手段诊疗的医师，自己在工作上看到医疗对人体健康状况的改善，也就是说，实证科学在一定范围内是有效的，但是心中又同时存在着精神上的信仰。那么自己真正相信的到底是什么呢？他认识到：“科学的观点被局限在物质世界里，科学没办法解释的，就含糊的说不符合科学，可当你亲身经历时，却又发现都是真实存在的。”

于是，古医师不断的研读大法书籍，体悟了很多法理，了解实证科学与精神信仰是完全不一样的东西，精神信仰有更高更深的内涵，这个体悟，敦促着他对大法的修炼更加精進。

如今，古医师除了做医疗工作外，利用自己的业余时间向更多人介绍法轮功，让有缘人了解这个高德大法。

Indonesia: Practitioners Celebrate the 30th Anniversary of the Public Introduction of Falun Dafa

(Minghui.org) World Falun Dafa Day celebrates May 13, 1992, the day the practice was first introduced to the public in China and also the birthday of the founder of Falun Dafa, Master Li Hongzhi.

To mark the 30th anniversary of the public introduction of Falun Dafa this year, practitioners in Indonesia gathered in Malang City in East Java to celebrate the occasion by holding activities held over three days, from May 14 to May 16, 2022.

May 14 was overcast but it did not rain. Practitioners formed the two Chinese characters “Dafa” in the large grassy area.

Character formation events began in China. They serve as a test of patience and endurance. Every practitioner is a particle in Dafa, cooperating and making their contribution silently.

After the character formation, practitioners went to the center of Malang to perform. The Tian Guo Marching Band, a waist drum group, and heavenly maidens showed people the beauty of the practice.

The performances attracted the attention of many tourists. They took the Dafa information that practitioners were distributing as well as handmade lotus flowers. Many people signed the petition to condemn the human rights atrocities in China after learning about the persecution.

Several police officers on duty to maintain order gave practitioners a thumbs up and commended them for the peaceful and amazing performances.

The performances continued into the evening on Malang Town Square. The music of the Tian Guo Marching Band and waist drummers showed spectators the beauty and compassionate energy of Dafa. Practitioners dressed as heavenly maidens gave out fliers and handmade lotus flowers.

Celebrations in Batu

The Tian Guo Marching Band and the waist drum team performed in the small town of Batu on the afternoon of May 16.

Batu is in a mountainous region in East Java Province. It is a tourist attraction popular among residents in the surrounding areas including Malang and Surabaya City.

Ms. Seri Widiarti from a private TV station in Batu sent greetings on behalf of Batu TV during a broadcast and wished Mr. Li Hongzhi, the founder of Falun Dafa, a happy birthday.

She said in her greeting: “I send my utmost respects to Falun Dafa friends who live by the principles of Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance. Although you face various pressures, especially in China, I believe the truth will prevail in the end.”

Practitioners hung large banners introducing the practice at the entrance to the House of Representatives building in Malang City and around major roads, catching the attention of many members of parliament and passersby.
