[Minghui.org] Austria: Practitioners Invited to Introduce Falun Dafa to a Secondary School

Mr. Gölles said, “The talk greatly benefited these secondary school students. They’ll be able to view the persecution and prejudice that exists in other countries with a correct perspective.” He said, “I recommend this event and it would be great if the other schools also discussed this topic in their classes.”

(Minghui.org) Practitioners were invited to visit a secondary school in Steiermark, Austria on April 24, 2024 and explain the persecution of Falun Dafa by the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) to students. One of the teachers said that this talk benefited the children greatly and he hoped that more schools could hold similar talks.

Mr. Gölles, a history and social studies teacher at the Mittelschule Strallegg secondary school, invited the Falun Dafa practitioners. About two years ago, Mr. Gölles learned about the persecution of Falun Dafa by the CCP during a truth clarifying event in Graz, and he began inviting practitioners to come to his school to give similar talks. Mr. Gölles wrote in the invitation that he believed the practitioners’ visit will “leave a deep impression in the children and greatly benefit them.”

The students watched the documentary “Letter from Masanjia”.

About a year later, Falun Dafa practitioners were once again invited to visit this secondary school. The practitioners showed the documentary “Letter from Masanjia” to the fourth year students (students in the seventh and eighth grades).

The students attentively listened. Once the practitioners finished speaking, the children had many questions such as how many Falun Dafa practitioners are imprisoned and what motivated practitioners to begin cultivating. At the end of the talk, the class representative expressed their thanks to the Falun Dafa practitioners on behalf of the class.

Mr. Gölles said, “The talk greatly benefited these secondary school students. They’ll be able to view the persecution and prejudice that exists in other countries with a correct perspective.” He said, “I recommend this event and it would be great if the other schools also discussed this topic in their classes.”

【明慧网二零二四年五月六日】二零二四年四月二十四日，法轮功学员应邀来到奥地利施泰尔马克州（Steiermark）的一所中学，在课堂上向学生们讲述中共对法轮功的迫害。一位老师称，这次讲座让孩子们“受益匪浅”，并希望能有更多的学校举办类似的讲座。

邀请法轮功学员来施特莱格中学（Mittelschule Strallegg）的是该校的历史和社会学老师戈勒斯先生（Gölles）。大约两年前，在格拉茨（Graz）的一个真相点上，戈勒斯先生了解到中共对法轮功的迫害，并在二零二三年四月第一次邀请法轮功学员到该校做相关讲座。戈勒斯先生在邀请中写道，他相信学员们的到访会“给孩子们留下深刻的印象，并让他们在人生道路中收益良多”。

大约一年后，法轮功学员再次应邀来到这所中学。学员们先为该校四年级（相当于初中二年级）的学生放映了记录片《求救信》。

整个讲座过程中，中学生们都听得很认真。学员们刚刚说完，孩子们就提了很多问题，如还有多少法轮功学员被关在监狱里，学员们是怎样走上修炼道路的。在讲座的最后，班长代表学生向法轮功学员表示感谢。

讲座结束后，戈勒斯先生说：“讲座让中学生们受益匪浅。他们会正视在其他国家存在迫害和歧视的事实。”最后他表示，“我推荐这次活动，如果其他学校也能在课堂上讨论这个话题，我会非常高兴。”

It has been over ten years since she started practicing. Chian-wen said, “The Chinese Communist Party’s persecution of Falun Gong can only deceive those who do not know the facts. When one gets to know practitioners and the wonder of Falun Gong, they will not be misled by the Party propaganda.”

After watching a TV news report about Falun Dafa practitioners’ peaceful demonstration in Beijing on April 25, 1999, Professor Ai Chang-rui said to his wife, “These people are brave. China is controlled by an authoritarian regime, so dissidents are targeted and persecuted. But these people dare to stand up and express their opinions.”

Over 10,000 practitioners gathered peacefully in Beijing on April 25, 1999, to ask the government to release practitioners who had been illegally detained in Tianjin. They also asked the government to reaffirm their right to practice their belief in Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance. They all left peacefully later that day, after then-Chinese Premier Zhu Rongji agreed to release the jailed practitioners, and gave assurances that the government did not oppose Falun Gong.

Professor Ai earned his Ph.D. from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. He is now a professor in the Department of Business Management at the National Chung Cheng University in Taiwan.

On his way home on April 26, 1999, Professor Ai listened to a special report on the radio about the April 25th demonstration, where a Falun Gong practitioner was interviewed. Professor Ai recalled, “I was inspired by his words, ‘Falun Gong is a cultivation practice of the Buddha school. The main book of this school is Zhuan Falun.’ So I decided to buy the book.”

He started reading it when he got home, and found answers to many questions he’d had about life. He said to his wife, “I have found my teacher. I want to practice Falun Gong.”

Professor Ai said, “I became wiser and understood life better after practicing Falun Gong. I used to think that I was always right in any conflict. Now I look inward to see if I have done anything wrong. In my teaching, research, and dealings with others, I can make rational choices and decisions. I can also easily control my temper.”

Hsiao Hua-wei, a university graduate, said, “Professor Ai is sincere, creative, and well-respected. Whenever we students organize events, we always invite him to come.”

Professor Ai does research on modern business management, especially human resource management. He has had many accomplishments and a good reputation as a teacher. He had made a lasting impression on his students.

Primary School Teacher

Retired primary school teacher Ms. Hsu Chian-wen recalled that her husband gave her a video disc over ten years ago. He said he didn’t know what was on it. He was the principal of another primary school, where someone gave him the disc at a meeting.

The video turned out to be an interview with Professor Ai, who talked about the April 25th peaceful demonstration.

Chian-wen said, “In the video, Professor Ai talked about why he started practicing Falun Gong. He said that, on TV, he saw over 10,000 practitioners demonstrating in Beijing. He was touched by their behavior and started to learn about Falun Gong.

“I was curious after hearing about Professor Ai’s experience, and went online to find out about Falun Gong. I thought it was very interesting, and asked my husband to buy a copy of Zhuan Falun. I finished reading it in two days. I believe that practicing it was my life’s goal.”

Before practicing Falun Gong, she had a comfortable life and was well-regarded. Her husband was a successful principal, and she was a popular teacher. However, she felt unfulfilled, and continually questioned the meaning of life. After practicing Falun Gong, she found her answers.

She often writes cards to her friends and others, saying, “I sought the meaning of life for so long. Now I’ve found it in the principles of Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance in the book Zhuan Falun.”

She has been practicing Falun Gong since April 25, 2004. She practices it diligently, and goes to the practice site for group exercises. Her two sons also practice. She maintains a good relationship with her mother-in-law and her husband.

It has been over ten years since she started practicing. Chian-wen said, “The Chinese Communist Party’s persecution of Falun Gong can only deceive those who do not know the facts. When one gets to know practitioners and the wonder of Falun Gong, they will not be misled by the Party propaganda.”

【明慧网二零一五年五月二日】（明慧记者苏容、孙柏台湾嘉义报道）十六年前，即一九九九年四月二十五日，发生了震惊中外的“四•二五万人和平上访”。法轮功学员为争取信仰自由，秉持着“真、善、忍”精神，勇敢、祥和、平静的中南海万人上访，赢得国际社会高度评价，也让海外许多民众心生佩服而走进法轮功。

台湾中正大学艾昌瑞教授和新港国小教师徐千文女士就是在这种机缘下相继走入法轮功修炼行列。

“这是一个很优质的团体”

美国伊利诺大学工业关系博士、台湾中正大学企管系教授艾昌瑞，十六年前的四月二十五日在电视机前看到上万中国民众到中南海上访的镜头，平静而祥和，就对身旁的太太说：“这群人太勇敢了。”艾昌瑞说：“在中国，一个集权主义的国家，老百姓做的事情若跟共产党想法不同，就会成为黑名单，这群人太勇敢了，居然敢走出去。”

同时媒体报导中也提到这群人离开的时候街道上是干干净净的，没留下一片纸屑，对这群人的道德修养印象深刻，艾昌瑞觉得这是一个很优质的团体。

隔天许多媒体争相报导“四•二五万人和平上访”事件，在下班开车的路上，艾昌瑞又听到著名的飞碟电台专题报导，名主持人赵少康表示这个新闻很轰动，并邀请一位法轮功学员做专访。一边开车一边仔细听着，艾昌瑞回忆说：“让我印象很深刻的是，‘法轮功是指导修炼的佛家功法，有一本书叫《转法轮》。’当时我决定先绕到书局买到这本书再回家。”

看完《转法轮》后，艾昌瑞跟他太太说：“很震撼，我找到自己的老师了，我要开始修炼法轮功。”早年对生命的意义有太多困惑的艾昌瑞，一直在寻寻觅觅找答案但又苦于无人可指点迷津，突然都从这本书获得解答，他内心深受震撼，踏上了修炼法轮功之路。

艾昌瑞说：“修炼法轮功后，我在思路上更清晰，看事情更加透彻，以前遇到事情容易把眼光放在别人身上，总觉得自己对，别人错，但修炼大法后会先看看自己是不是哪里没做好，需要调整。在教学、做研究或待人处世上，遇事较能明智做判断和选择，情绪掌控更平稳。”

在中正大学企研所毕业的萧晔蔚说：“艾教授教学上很认真又有创意，很受敬爱，在待人处事上是一位非常谦虚、非常亲切的人。象我们系上大学部的学生都叫他‘小艾、小艾’，我们研究生就称他‘老艾、老艾’，彼此很亲切、没有隔阂。每次我们学生办的活动，都很喜欢都找艾老师一起参加，他是我们的良师益友。”

修炼法轮功的艾昌瑞教授在研究上一直以来钻研于现代企业管理学，主攻人事资源管理，饶有建树；孜孜不倦的教学尤获好评，连带的他的言谈举止，一言一行，都让学生留下深刻的印象，对学生的人生有良好的影响。

《转法轮》是我人生追求的目标

新港国小退休教师徐千文，因一片光碟的奇缘而走入法轮功修炼。先生曾给她一片上面写着“感恩”的影碟，那是有关艾昌瑞教授的专访，和介绍“四•二五万人上访”的影片。她看了后，决定走入法轮功修炼。

回忆十年前的一天，在学校担任校长的先生因参加一个校长会议带回这片光碟说：“这不知道是什么内容，你有空要不要看看！”

影碟中，“艾教授谈到为什么他会修炼法轮功？就是他看到电视上法轮功学员中南海万人和平上访报导。他本行是学企管的，在中国有这么多人能集合在一起，而且离开后居然地上没有留下一片纸屑，依照他对中国人品德的认识，他觉得很不可思议，觉得法轮功一定有很特别之处，就进来认识法轮功，觉得法轮功太好了就修炼了。”

“看到艾教授的修炼经历也引起了我的好奇。”千文说：“我上网去查看什么是法轮功！浏览后我觉得蛮有意思的，迫不及待的请先生载我到嘉义市买《转法轮》这本书，两个晚上把书看完，感觉这是我想要追求的人生目标。

千文是一个很奇特的人，不太喜欢跟人家闲聊，不逛街。所以很多朋友都说她活在自己的世界里，让人觉得有点孤僻。千文在求学阶段就喜欢剪贴，翻开她的剪贴簿发现都是甘地、史怀哲、帝王等伟人的故事，期盼世界大同。

修炼大法之前，她的一切际遇人人称羡，先生是一位有成就的校长，千文在学校也是很受校长的器重，深受学生家长欢迎的好老师，一切都很美满。但是千文内心总觉得生命深处缺少什么。她常深思，人生的全部就是这些吗？一直在寻寻觅觅，学炼法轮功后，她才找到人生活着的真正意义。千文常送好友的弘法卡片写道：“我一生中寻寻觅觅，就在这三个字‘真、善、忍’，在《转法轮》这本宝书中，我找到了。”

自二零零四年四月二十五日走到炼功点开始修炼后，千文很珍惜、精進实修，不论刮风下雨都出去炼功，两个儿子受妈妈的影响，也都在大法中修炼。千文用修炼人高标准要求自己，孝顺公婆，和先生感情融洽，全家沐浴在大法中。

至今修炼十年的千文，越觉得法轮功了不起，对信仰越坚定，千文说：“中共的打压只能欺骗不了解真相的人，当人们了解这个团体，怎么讲你都会觉得‘真、善、忍’好，‘法轮大法好’，他们是不可能去做不好的事情，当人们了解法轮功真相时，就象打了强心剂，不会再受中共的造假宣传所蒙骗。”

一九九九年四月二十五日之前，在台湾知道和修炼法轮功的人并不多，“四•二五万人和平上访”后，加上中共对法轮功的迫害，同时也把法轮功推向国际舞台，台湾修炼的人数和炼功点如雨后春笋，蓬勃发展起来，成为除了中国大陆外修炼法轮功人数最多的地区，政府和人民都很认同支持法轮功，两岸间同文同种对法轮功的态度有如天渊之别。

(Clearwisdom.net) French Falun Gong practitioner Thomas Dobson, who currently resides in Sydney, has been practicing Falun Gong for a dozen years. He talked with us recently about how he met practitioners in Changchun, Jilin Province, in China before the persecution started and he was only 22 years old.

The Chinese Embassy in France Spared No Effort in Promoting Falun Gong

Thomas first started practicing Falun Gong when he lived in Paris in 1996. He was a 19-year-old student and went to a park to do the exercises in the morning with his mother. “My mother learned Falun Gong when Mr. Li Hongzhi came to lecture in Paris in 1995. She was probably one of the first western practitioners in Europe. At the time, the practice was officially promoted by the Chinese Embassy. Many people in France began to learn Falun Dafa because of the Embassy’s active effort. My mother has been practicing since the 90s and so has my stepfather. Most of my family members are practitioners,” said Thomas. 

Truth-Compassion-Forbearance Draws Thomas’ Attention

Thomas remembers that it was the principle of Truth-Compassion-Forbearance that attracted him to the practice. Before he began to practice, he was a student living a typical life of parties, fun and not much money. “One of the reasons I began to learn Falun Gong was that I did not have to pay or register. There wasn’t any form of management. It was very free. This form really attracted many French people’s attention because people in France highly stress their personal freedom.” Thomas said that he did not practice Falun Gong for health reasons. “I thought I was quite healthy, although I was smoking 40 cigarettes a day. I had not been really sick.” Thomas liked the practice because of the principle of Truth-Compassion-Forbearance, the simple yet high-level teaching and loose management. “The teaching is good and the practitioners are all nice people. I knew a family in which everyone from grandma to grandchild practiced Falun Gong. I believed that the practice must be good.” 

Going to China to Learn Chinese So He Can Read the Book Zhuan Falun

The book of Falun Dafa’s central teaching, Zhuan Falun, had not been translated yet when Thomas started the practice. For a year, he only knew the exercises and how to follow the principle in his daily life by sharing with Chinese practitioners. “In September 1996, when I first got the English version of Zhuan Falun, I finished reading it as fast as I could.” I decided to go to Asia to learn Chinese because there are so many Falun Gong books, articles and lectures and they were all in Chinese.” 

Thomas went to Changchun in January 1999. The temperature was 14 degrees Fahrenheit. “I was very fortunate and everything went well, including my trip and the job I found. I did not plan at all. Things just happened like they were prearranged. I learned Chinese at Northeast Normal University and taught English in its affiliated private school. I was the only westerner there, and hence my Chinese improved quickly. I practiced Falun Dafa at Jilin University every morning. When I studied Chinese Zhuan Falun with the practitioners there, I got to read the Chinese characters one by one as they read, and understand the meaning. I had a wonderful time there.” 

According to Thomas, back then in Changchun, there was at least one Falun Gong practitioner in every household. He couldn’t walk more than ten minutes without coming across another exercise site. At the practice site closest to where he lived, there were about 200 practitioners doing the exercises every morning at 5 a.m. Then, there were another 2,000 at 7 a.m. There were Fa-study groups everywhere. “It was unbelievable. The entire city was following the principle of Truth-Compassion-Forbearance. Everyone looked within for their shortcomings. The environment helped tremendously for my personal cultivation. What I had been looking for in the past, so many people were practicing it in the city!” 

Leaving Before the Persecution Begins

Thomas left a month before the Chinese Communist Party launched the persecution of Falun Gong. It has been more than ten years, and he still cannot go back to China. 

He has lost touch with many friends. Many of them have suffered persecution. One of his friends was forced to have an abortion when she was eight months pregnant with her first child. “From then on, I have been doing whatever I can to make people understand that such a brutal persecution is still happening in China. It has not been easy. It’s been ten years and people are starting to understand why we protest. It’s not about politics, but human rights. No matter how people look at the persecution, it’s been going on for too long.” Thomas mentioned that he met people of different races and from all walks of life while practicing Falun Gong in China. “I believe that Falun Gong can bring more people together than the Chinese Communist Party ever could.” 

In the end, Thomas said with tears in his eyes, “I want my friends in China to know that I am still practicing now, and I will not forget them.”
