Mr. Liu started to practice Falun Gong in 1995. He credited the practice for enabling him to recover from sciatica, gastric and duodenal ulcers, and chronic hepatitis, which he developed due to his stressful work as a construction contractor.
After the persecution began in 1999, Mr. Liu faced constant persecution for upholding his faith. His first arrest was in September 1999, when he was seized at home by Xiaochengzi Police Station officers.

A Chaoyang City, Liaoning Province, man was sentenced to 11.5 years in 2016 at the age of 78 for practicing Falun Gong. Despite Mr. Liu Dianyuan’s extremely poor physical condition, the prison still accepted him. His condition continued to decline over the years. He passed away on February 10, 2024, Chinese New Year’s Day. He was 86.

Mr. Liu was arrested on November 9, 2015, at his sister’s home and taken to the Jianping County Detention Center. In order to frame him, Jiang Jie, head of the Jianping County Domestic Security Office, fabricated evidence claiming that the house where Mr. Liu was arrested was full of Falun Gong books and materials.

When Mr. Liu appeared in the Jianping County Court five months later on April 7, 2016, the once healthy and mentally sharp man was emaciated and struggled with poor memory. Presiding judge Li Yan handed down a heavy term of 11.5 years. Mr. Liu would have been almost 90 years old by the time he finished serving time.

Even though Mr. Liu wasn’t qualified to be admitted to prison given his poor health, the Shenyang City First Prison still accepted him when the bailiff took him there on June 14, 2016.

It’s not clear whether Mr. Liu’s family were allowed to visit him after his prison admission. In September 2022, the guards called his family and told them to buy him diapers. His family later found out that Mr. Liu, then 84, was already incapacitated. But the prison refused to release him for medical treatment.

Mr. Liu’s family received a call from the prison on February 11, 2024, the second day of the 2024 Chinese New Year, were told that he had passed away the day before. His body is now in the Shenyang Funeral Home.

Past Persecution

Mr. Liu started to practice Falun Gong in 1995. He credited the practice for enabling him to recover from sciatica, gastric and duodenal ulcers, and chronic hepatitis, which he developed due to his stressful work as a construction contractor.

After the persecution began in 1999, Mr. Liu faced constant persecution for upholding his faith. His first arrest was in September 1999, when he was seized at home by Xiaochengzi Police Station officers. He held a hunger strike to protest the persecution and was released seven days later.

The police broke into Mr. Liu’s home again on June 14, 2000. They arrested him “so that he wouldn’t go to Beijing to appeal for Falun Gong” and detained him for 60 days.

Mr. Liu’s third arrest was on July 31, 2001. Liu Junchen, head of of the Xiaochengzi Police Station, Fu Yanling, the head of Lingyuan City Domestic Security Office, and Liu Xingli, director of the Ningcheng County Police Station in Inner Mongolia, were responsible. It’s not clear why the police in Inner Mongolia were involved in his arrest.

At the age of 65, Mr. Liu was sentenced to seven years and served time at the Chifeng No.4 Prison in Inner Mongolia. He was forced to work for more than ten hours a day without pay. The guards also held him at the psychiatric ward in the prison hospital for ten months. He was forced to take large amounts of unknown drugs every day. By the time he was released, he was barely skin and bones. He was unable to stand up straight and kept coughing up pus and blood. He was so weak that it was even difficult for him to speak one complete sentence.

After he returned home, Mr. Liu resumed practicing Falun Gong. Miraculously, he recovered two months later and was able to work on his family farm again.

Only two years after his release, he was arrested again by Chen Zhi with the Lingyuan City Domestic Security Office and Xingyuan Police Station officers on October 12, 2010. Due to his poor health, the detention center refused to admit him and he was released on bail. Yet the police still submitted his case to the procuratorate, resulting in a 4.5-year prison sentence. To avoid going to prison, Mr. Liu, then 73, was forced to live away from home and hide from the police. During the time he was away, his house collapsed and his over 100 fruit trees were left unattended.

While he was displaced, Mr. Liu was hit by an electric bike in July 2015 and suffered injuries to his back, spine, and left calf. Even though he was destitute, he didn’t seek compensation from the driver. He resorted to practicing Falun Gong to recover and was back on his feet in a month. He was arrested in November 2015 and eventually died in prison while serving the lengthy term.

【明慧网二零二四年二月二十八日】（明慧网通讯员辽宁报道）辽宁省朝阳市凌源市法轮功学员刘殿元，因坚持法轮大法真、善、忍信仰，二零一六年在79岁高龄时被朝阳市建平县法院女法官李岩非法判刑十一年半。他没能熬到90岁出狱的那一天，于二零二四年大年初一在沈阳第一监狱被迫害致死，终年87岁。

据悉，刘殿元老人在去世前已被迫害致残、不能自理一年之久，但是，沈阳监狱拒绝让老人出狱就医，终将老人迫害致死。目前老人的遗体被停放在沈阳殡仪馆。

刘殿元出生于一九三八年。他年轻时很能干、聪明，当过干部、教师，后来又自学中医，在村里诊所当大夫，还带过徒弟。一九八五年，他开始承包工程、搞建筑，有了钱，出了名，然而过度的劳累使刘殿元的身体越来越坏，患上坐骨神经痛、胃和十二指肠溃疡、慢性肝炎、神经衰弱等疾病。

一九九五年，刘殿元开始修炼法轮功，他按照真、善、忍的标准要求自己，做好人，很快一身的疾病不翼而飞，从此他真正体会到了幸福的滋味。

中共迫害法轮功后，刘殿元坚持真、善、忍信仰，遭到残酷迫害，多次被绑架、关押，被非法劳教、判刑。

刘殿元老人遭中共迫害经历简述

一九九九年九月一天，刘殿元和姐姐被闯入家中的小城子派出所警察绑架、关押，刘殿元绝食抵制迫害，约七天后被放回家。

二零零零年六月十四日，小城子派出所警察再次闯入刘殿元家里，以怕刘殿元上北京为由，将他绑架、非法拘留六十天。

二零零一年七月三十一日，六十五岁的刘殿元被内蒙古宁城县公安局局长刘兴理、凌源市国保大队队长付艳玲、小城子派出所所长刘俊臣等人绑架，后来他被非法判刑七年。在内蒙古自治区赤峰第四监狱，刘殿元被迫做奴工每天达十几个小时，并曾被狱警劫持到监狱精神病院关押十个月，每天被逼迫吃大剂量的不明药物，吃了三百多天。七年后出狱时，刘殿元被迫害得骨瘦如柴，直不起腰来，咳脓、咯血，虚弱得说不出一句完整的话。

出狱回家后，刘殿元坚持学法、炼功，两个月后恢复健康，又能干农活了。大法又一次救了刘殿元的命。

二零一零年十月十二日，凌源市国保大队队长陈志伙同兴源派出所警察闯入刘殿元家中，再次绑架刘殿元，由于体检不合格，刘殿元得以取保候审。后凌源法院对刘殿元非法判刑四年半。法院去抓人时，73岁的刘殿元被迫离家漂泊，从此他再也没能回家。家里的房子塌陷了，院子变成了树林，家里的土地荒芜，一百多棵果树无人采摘。而刘殿元老人却因为年纪大了无处打工，导致居无定所，生活非常困苦。

二零一五年十一月九日上午十点多钟，刘殿元在凌源市铁西一街的妹妹家被闯入的建平县国保队长姜杰等七、八个警察绑架，并被劫持到建平县看守所非法关押。建平县国保大队遂对他进行司法迫害，编造谎言称抓捕他的地点是在建平县一个装满书和资料的房子里。

二零一六年四月七日，建平县法院对刘殿元老人进行非法庭审。被绑架前身体健壮、思维敏捷的老人，在短短几个月内就被迫害得骨瘦如柴，记忆力减退。之后，以李岩为首的法庭对刘殿元老人非法判刑十一年半的重刑，欲将他囚禁到90岁。

尽管近79岁的刘殿元老人身体极度衰弱，不符合任何收监条件，他还是于二零一六年六月十四日被法院非法送到辽宁沈阳第一监狱迫害。

二零二二年中秋节，监狱狱警打电话给家属，让给老人买尿不湿。原来86岁的刘殿元已被迫害致卧床不起。家属几次申请保外就医，但因家中已经被迫害至一贫如洗，没有钱做体检鉴定，监狱拒绝让老人保外就医。

二零二四年正月初二，刘殿元家属接到沈阳第一监狱电话，称刘殿元老人于二零二四年大年初一（二月十日）二十三点去世。

刘殿元老人去世了。这里还要记录下他的一段感人经历：二零一五年七月，流离失所中的刘殿元出了车祸，电动车被撞碎了，左腿小腿处骨折，腰部受伤，锁骨有裂痕，脊椎也受了伤。赶到的120医生和交警都说撞人的车主至少得赔偿刘殿元医药费等三十万元。当时的刘殿元因长期受迫害，无处打工，家里已经一贫如洗，如果得到这笔钱，能解决许多生活困难。但是刘殿元想到自己是一个修炼人，应该按照师父的要求、按照大法的标准去做，他不需要住医院，也不能讹人钱财，当即要求回家，表示自己出现一切后果与车主无关。车主感激的说：我真是碰到好人了，要不就真得倾家荡产了。那时的刘殿元已经78岁了，一般这么大岁数的人骨折是很难治愈的，可是刘殿元没有吃药、没有打针，每天坚持学法炼功，短短一个月就神奇的痊愈了，又能骑车了。

刘殿元的经历，再一次证实了法轮大法的神圣、美好，而他的去世也再次揭露了中共邪恶至极的本质以及追随参与迫害者们的残忍。

If it wasn’t for Falun Gong, my liver and kidneys would have been destroyed, because I took such an enormous amount of drugs.” She also saved the government lots of money because she no longer needs healthcare benefits. Huang is a living testament to the incredible healing powers of Falun Gong.

(Clearwisdom.net) People express their admiration and gratitude toward their mothers on Mother’s Day. Ms. Huang Yuhua, who jointly with her mother-in-law won the title “Mother-and-Daughter-in-law of the Century,” prepared gifts for her mother-in-law and was also going to present a certificate to her. She said that her mother-in-law is an extraordinary woman. She also professed that Falun Gong has played a critical role in helping her become the person she is.

Ms. Huang is an outgoing person and actively participates in community service. She and her husband own a car dealership. She is a board member of Taizhong Automobile Trade Workers’ Union and a standing director of the Women’s Association. The Women’s association and the Community Service Station nominated her for this award.

“We spoke with many people, and the consensus is that you are a very successful person in terms of caring for your mother-in-law, your husband and your children, and that’s why you were nominated,” said the director of the Service Station. Huang Yuhua and her husband are busy at work, but they are very devoted to their mother-in-law. She said, “I am blessed with wisdom and honor because I practice Falun Gong!”

Ms. Huang began practicing Falun Gong in 2003. Her husband’s friend mailed a copy of Zhuan Falun to the couple, but she did not have time to read it. Later on when she visited her daughter in Canada she saw Falun Gong practitioners doing exercises in front of the Chinese consulate. However, she didn’t join them for fear of the communist regime.

After returning to Taiwan, Ms. Huang was strolling on a nearby university campus with her husband one morning, and they heard the Falun Gong exercise music. Her husband was intrigued and decided to spend the next two months finding out more about the practice. He had practiced another qigong for more than a decade and was surprised to feel a very powerful energy field when doing the Falun Gong exercises, exactly as described in Zhuan Falun. He then realized that this is a high-level cultivation practice. Two days later he resolutely gave up everything he had previously learned and started practicing Falun Gong.

Several days later, during an alumni gathering Ms. Huang saw a former classmate who had been sick for many years was now glowing with health; it turned out she had been practicing Falun Gong for 18 months. This time she was convinced, and she began going with her husband to the local practice site and reading Falun Gong books. Soon, she experienced tremendous physical and moral improvements.

Ms. Huang used to make frequent visits to the doctor’s office. She often suffered from heatstroke during the summer and sought folk remedies. She was very sensitive. For example, if she inadvertently encountered a funeral procession she would immediately feel discomfort and would have to go to a temple in an attempt to drive away whatever was ailing her. She took Chinese medicine and dietary supplements five times a day with meals. Two of her three fridges at home were stocked with drugs and food supplements. Ms. Huang said, “I was making money with one hand and taking medications with the other.” Over time she showed symptoms of lead poisoning. Her complexion was dark, and black dots appeared on her face.

Falun Gong, however, gave Ms. Huang the health she always dreamed of without costing her a single penny. Her husband has eight brothers and three sisters. His father passed away early, and his mother raised the children alone. Huang’s parents always taught her to respect and care for the elders, and she did. Her husband was always a dutiful son, so the mother-in-law chose to live with her and her husband.

Falun Gong practice, however, helped Ms. Huang to discover where she fell short. Prior to the practice she was kind, but she harbored discontent. Her mother-in-law always asked her husband to deal with matters large and small, making her feel left out and disgruntled that her mother-in-law was “hogging” her husband. Cultivation has since dissipated this feeling, and she truly cares for her mother-in-law from her heart. She is grateful toward her for having done such a great job bringing up her husband, and she is now benefiting from it. She said, “A woman is like a flax-seed that grows wherever it ends up, and my mother-in-law is the rich land that makes my life so wonderful.”

In the past, even though the eight sisters-in-law all offered to care for their mother-in-law, they were actually competing to see who showed the most filial piety. After practicing Falun Gong Ms. Huang changed her intentions and truly cared for others, and people sensed her sincerity. It spread over time, and some sisters-in-law who used to dislike her have changed their attitude. The sisters-in-law no longer just “get along,” but they actually put themselves in the other person’s shoes. They are also wiser in resolving conflicts among themselves and with their mother-in-law.

“After assimilating into Dafa, I am a more gracious and loving person,” said Ms. Huang. Her career is also thriving, and she is able to accomplish more without spending too much time.

【明慧网二零一一年五月十九日】（明慧记者夏昀台湾台中采访报导）温馨五月，不论身在何地的人子，无不希望在母亲节这天，能向疼爱自己的母亲表达孝心。甫获台湾百年模范婆媳奖的黄玉花，早已准备好了要送给婆婆的礼物，并且要献上刚刚获颁的百年模范婆媳奖状给婆婆，让婆婆开心。获得这份殊荣，除了归功于不平凡的婆婆外，黄玉花认为还有一个重要的原因，那就是法轮功。

个性开朗积极，热心于公众事务的黄玉花与先生共同经营汽车买卖，是台中市汽车职业工会的理事，也担任几任妇女会常务理事。这次获奖，就是由大里区妇女会与民众服务站所共同提名的。

“我们是经过多方探听的。你做人很成功，不论是对婆婆、对先生、对子女，都很成功。”这是民众服务站的主任秘书对黄玉花的夸赞，也是黄玉花获得模范婆媳奖提名的原因。黄玉花和先生平日工作非常忙碌，但对于侍奉高龄的婆婆，却尽心尽力。对于这份荣耀，黄玉花感恩地说：“我有这个智慧、福份和荣耀，都是因为修炼法轮功！”

修炼的机缘

黄玉花是在二零零三年开始修炼法轮功的。在这之前，先生的朋友寄了一本法轮功的主要著作《转法轮》给他们，但她一直没有机会看。到加拿大探视女儿时，在中领馆前看到法轮功学员在炼功，当时她看到的是古代的建筑景象，非常奇特，然而要叫她站在路边炼功，她认为自己是绝对不敢的。

回国后，因时差关系，黄玉花和先生清晨到附近大学散步，这时听到了法轮功的炼功音乐。先生升起了想要学炼的念头，决定给自己两个月的时间来认识法轮功。黄玉花的先生在其它门派中练了十几年，有不小的功力。没想到一炼法轮功，他感受非常强烈，炼功时巨大的能量场，就和《转法轮》中描述的一样，他感受到这才是真正的上乘功法，这才是大道。只炼了两天，就决定放弃之前的东西，改炼法轮功。

先生邀约黄玉花一起学炼，但并未打动她。过了几天，在一次同学会中，黄玉花遇到一位守寡多年的同学，气色变得非常好，她很好奇，于是询问了同学，得知是因为炼了一年半的法轮功。这很触动黄玉花，于是她也想炼炼看。就这样她开始跟先生到炼功点炼功，也积极地看法轮功的经书。

身体的转变

修炼法轮功后，黄玉花在身体和心性上都有很大的转变。

过往因为忙于事业，她的身体并不好，经常看医生。夏天时，三天两头中暑，得靠刮痧（台湾民间疗法）来解决。她对丧事特别敏感，只要不小心遇见办丧事的人家，过后身体马上不舒服，常常跑神坛去收惊。

为了让身体健康，她开始吃保健食品、中药，一天吃五餐，餐餐都是保健食品。家里三个冰箱，有两个是用来放药材、保健食品的。“那时是一手赚钱，一手吃药。”这样不惜花费大把金钱，最后却吃到铅中毒，脸上都是黑斑，脸色发黑。

待人处事的智慧

黄玉花的先生有八个兄弟，三个姊妹。早年公公过世后，婆婆独立撑起一个家，是个非常了不起的女性。孝顺长辈，是黄玉花的父母给她的家庭教育，也是她原生家庭的优良传承。她尽力侍奉婆婆，加上先生总是和颜悦色对待婆婆，所以婆婆长年选择跟他们一块生活。

在修炼法轮功后，黄玉花还是发现了不同。她发现过往侍奉婆婆是表面的和顺，但在她心底却有些不满。在日常生活相处中，婆婆大小事总是找先生来处理，让她觉得婆婆好象是霸占着先生、抢走她的先生，她的心里是有些不舒服的。然而，在修炼后，这些想法、感觉都烟消云散了，现在她是真心地孝顺婆婆，真心地对待婆婆。黄玉花感激婆婆将先生教育得这么好，让她拥有这么好的丈夫。她比喻说，女人是油麻菜籽命，撒在哪就在哪成长。她的婆婆是块肥沃的土地，让她的人生如此的丰满。

这样的心境也同时反应在对待妯娌上。过往，八个妯娌都愿意侍奉婆婆，抢着要孝顺婆婆，然而这中间最多的却是攀比，比较谁尽的孝心多。黄玉花修炼大法后，认为这种比较，并不是真心相待，不是真正的孝心。黄玉花发现她的心态变了，她是真心善待身边的人，真心为他人好。所以她的言行举止，透露着不一样的讯息。这种转变同时感染着周边的人，原本对她不怎么友善的嫂嫂，也转变了态度。妯娌间不只是表面的和顺，而能推心置腹地相待。并且多了一份智慧，能化解婆媳、妯娌间的矛盾。

“同化大法后，我现在是用感恩的心做人，用爱心做事业。”黄玉花的事业同样在她“不为自己，而是为对方”的心境中蒸蒸日上，不需要花费很多的时间，就能做到更好的业绩。

看来，模范媳妇的智慧，是来自于修炼法轮功。

[Minghui.org] Kostroma, Russia: Falun Dafa Well-Received at City Anniversary Celebration

Svetlana from Kostroma and Ivetta from Cyprus said that they felt a difference when learning Falun Dafa exercises. Svetlana said, “I have a feeling of warmth. I feel very comfortable!”

(Minghui.org) Falun Dafa practitioners were invited to participate in Kostroma’s celebratory events on August 10 and 11, 2019. It was the 867th anniversary of the city of Kostroma, and the 75th anniversary of the Kostroma Region.

Local tradition calls for a morning parade made up of various groups from local businesses, educational and cultural institutions, and schools. The Falun Dafa group offered a unique display of traditional Chinese culture.

Falun Dafa Procession Awarded First Place

The Falun Dafa procession featured a celestial maiden team, exercise demonstration team, waist drum team, dragon and lion dance teams. The dragon and lion dance teams interacted with the crowd, bringing smiles and laughter.

When the parade reached its destination, Susaninskaya Square, each group gave a presentation before a panel of judges.

After the presentation, the governor of the district welcomed the festival attendees and announced the winners of the competition. Falun Dafa practitioners won first place, and the most artistic procession.

Demonstrating the Falun Dafa Exercises

During the afternoon of the event, the practitioners introduced Falun Dafa to the people at the Senior Center in Kostroma. They presented a demonstration of the exercises, an introduction on the background of the practice, and a Chinese cultural performance.

On the second day of the event, Falun Dafa practitioners demonstrated the exercises in the Botnikovsky central garden, located across from city hall. Many people watched the demonstration.

During the demonstration a practitioner spoke to the audience about Falun Dafa, the recognition and awards presented to Falun Dafa worldwide, and the Chinese Communist Party’s (CCP) brutal persecution that was launched in 1999.

Falun Dafa Exercise Music Draws Attention

Many people who saw the parade the day before became interested in Falun Dafa. The practitioners offered free instruction of the exercises to the spectators.

Ludmila from Poland had planned to go to the market, but decided to watch the demonstration upon hearing the music. She asked if she could learn the movements.

She said she felt calm after learning the exercises and experienced a very good feeling. She asked for contact information of the practice sites in Kostroma and Poland. She said that she felt a strong energy field, and that the practitioners seemed to illuminate this cloudy day.

Distracting Thoughts Disappear

Ivetta said, “I have a new feeling and have not fully understood it yet. I specially like to be completely free from the city noise. Oh, this is great! I closed my eyes while practicing the sitting meditation, and all distracting thoughts disappeared.”

The young girl said, “I feel great! I feel that I am removed from the pressure from my parents.”

Olga from Murmansk was surprised that her hands became warm from the energy while learning the exercises. She said, “For me, this is very unexpected. Of course, this is good!”

Svetlana from Moscow said that she saw a beautiful scene when she practiced, “I saw grasslands, mountains, a flowing river, and all was serene. I was very comfortable in that moment.”

Folding Paper Lotus Flowers, Learning about the Persecution in China

*People learn how to fold paper lotus flowers and learn more about Dafa and the CCP’s brutal persecution*

Ten tables were set up next to the event venue to teach people how to make small folded paper lotus flowers, a symbol of purity and resilience in the face of adversity, much like the Falun Dafa practitioners suffering persecution in China.

The practitioners explained how brutally the communist regime persecutes Falun Dafa practitioners, and even harvests organs from imprisoned practitioners on mass scale for sale to transplant patients.

Many people expressed sympathy for Falun Dafa practitioners in China. Some asked why the media did not report more on these crimes against humanity. They said they hoped more people would learn about this and that the persecution would soon come to an end.
