Fifteen years after being diagnosed with fulminant hepatitis, Xiujing went for a health check-up. The test results from the Taipei City United Hospital showed the hepatitis B surface antigen was negative, which meant that Xiujing’s hepatitis was gone!
(Minghui.org) Xiujing was always curious about life. When she was a child, she would look up at the sky and wonder, “Why am I a person, and not a bird?”
Her parents worshiped Buddha and often took her to temples, so she learned to respect the divine. She took some literature home, hoping to find answers to her questions about life. But the religious scriptures were difficult to understand, and she did not find what she was looking for.
As Xiujing got older, her questions gradually diminished. Her teachers told her to study hard so she could make money when she graduated. She listened and went to a renowned university and earned a master’s degree in political economics. She worked for a foreign technology company and made a decent salary. Everything went well.
Health Issues
But success in school and in her career did not bring Xiujing good health. Even as a child, she was very weak. “Lots of people on campus knew me. If the flag ceremony was held on a hot day, I usually fainted,” she recalled.
The national health insurance started with Card A, and there were six entries on each card. Even as a student, Xiujing needed to see doctors, and sometimes filled Cards A, B, all the way to Z.
She paid attention to her diet and lifestyle. She also ate organic food and took supplements, but she still occasionally had health problems.
On the Verge of Death
After she began working for the foreign technology company, Xiujiu shouldered many responsibilities, and the pressure was huge. “We would receive a big bonus if we reached the sales target; we were criticized if we didn’t, so we were always nervous,” she recalled.
At age 31, Xiujing had full-blown hepatitis, a sudden, massive death of liver cells that results in a decline or even complete loss of liver function. The mortality rate was up to 80%. Her liver index was over 1,800 at the time, 60 times higher than the normal level. With liver cells severely inflamed or necrotic, it was a serious emergency. After she was hospitalized, she lapsed into a coma. The doctor told her family, “If she does not wake up, she will be gone.”
One 27-year-old coworker also had full-blown hepatitis. He passed away about two weeks later.
Xiujing did regain consciousness, but she was extremely weak. She thought, “I paid so much attention to my health. Why did this happen?”
One night, Xiujing could not endure any more, and in her heart she called, “It is too painful to be a person. If there are divine beings, could someone tell me why I am a human being and why I’m alive in the world?”
After she was discharged from the hospital, Xiujing was even weaker. The doctor gave her the bad news that the next step after full-blown hepatitis is cirrhosis. Over time, it would become liver cancer, and the process is irreversible. Hearing this death sentence, Xiujing was depressed and felt desperate. Fame, material interests, and success were no longer important.
A Turning Point
After she got out of the hospital, Xiujing decided to resign from her job. “The work is too stressful. Without good health, money is useless,” she thought. Her manager asked her to stay – she could take a paid leave for one month and return to work after she felt better.
Xiujing tried yoga and all kinds of qigong, but nothing helped. When a Falun Dafa youth camp was held at Hsinchu Jiao Tong University, her aunt invited her to go with her.
The first day of the camp Xiujing watched a video of lectures given by Master Li. Master said,
“I’ll tell you a truth: The entire cultivation process for a cultivator is one of constantly giving up human attachments. In ordinary human society, people compete with, deceive, and harm each other for a little personal gain. All of these mentalities must be given up. Especially for people who are studying the practice today, these mentalities should be given up even further.” (Lecture One, Zhuan Falun)
This is what I’ve been looking for, Xiujing thought. She knew she would definitely practice Falun Dafa.
A New Life
During her one-month break from work, Xiujing spent most of the time practicing Falun Dafa. She read Zhuan Falun and did the exercises. “One month later, I was healthy—I felt like a new person,” she said.
Her manager was very pleased when Xiujing said she was ready to return to work. According to company policy, Xiujing could take another month of paid leave to recover. “I began practicing Falun Dafa, and I wanted to follow the principles of Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance. I did not want to take advantage of the company,” she explained.
Her job was selling technology products in Taiwan that were made in the United States, and she had to make phone calls. Because of her poor health in the past, her voice was always low. But now, she was full of energy and was like a different person.
Noticing her changes, her manager and coworkers asked what had happened. Xiujing told them it was all due to Falun Dafa.
Xiujing’s physical strength has also changed significantly. Before, she had to walk a distance to get to and from the subway station for work, which put a heavy burden on her body. After she began practicing Falun Dafa, she became stronger, and as she continued to practice, commuting was no longer a problem.
A Department Star
Xiujing’s personality also changed. Before she began practicing Falun Dafa, due to her poor health, she wasn’t cheerful. She tended to be negative and shy. However, her work requires constant interaction with people. “I had no choice but to interact with clients because it was my job,” she explained.
After she began practicing, her outlook on life changed significantly. “Interactions with others bring me joy because I can talk about my experiences. I’ve also become more proactive in handling things, and my mindset has become increasingly positive,” she said.
This change has made her more comfortable at work. “I’ve become more attentive to my clients and can better understand their needs when recommending products that suit them, rather than just selling the most expensive product to achieve sales,” she said.
She’s been at the top of the company’s annual customer satisfaction list every year and has ranked first for three consecutive years. She’s also been the “Star of the Month” in her department almost every month.
Her boss wanted to give her a raise because of her excellent work performance and high customer satisfaction. Xiujing thought that practitioners should be considerate of others, and that one colleague needed the money. So she told her manager, “I know a colleague’s family situation isn’t good. It doesn’t matter if I get a raise or not. Please consider giving it to that person.” The manager looked at her with tears in his eyes. The supervisor later sent her the following message: “Falun Dafa is good. Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance is good.”
Unexpected Results

Xiujing was very excited and said, “I was a hepatitis B carrier. The doctor told me before that liver disease is irreversible and will not get better—it can only worsen. When I saw the results, I asked the doctor if the test results were wrong. The doctor said with certainty, ‘You are negative.’”
“I was deeply shocked. I knew that Master is compassionate and Falun Dafa is truly miraculous. My liver disease was incurable, and a positive result couldn’t possibly turn negative. But in the 2017 examination, the result was negative!” Xiujing said.
Voice from the Heart
After working for a foreign company for 10 years, Xiujing’s financial situation was secure, so she decided to take on another challenge and change career paths, engaging in media coordination and promotion. Now her life is extremely fulfilling, and she’s happy every day.
Xiujing said from the bottom of her heart, “I faced death once, but because I began practicing Falun Dafa, I was saved. Because every Falun Dafa practitioner benefits, they tell others the good news—that Falun Dafa is good. In contrast, the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) slanders Dafa and Master, and even buys off most of the media around the world, trying to make people hate Falun Dafa and prevent them from understanding the beauty of cultivation.
“There have been an unusually high number of natural and man-made disasters around the world. In these troubled times, we should uphold Truthfulness, Compassion, and Forbearance,” she said. “The divine blesses those who are kind. I hope everyone will learn about Falun Dafa. I believe you will benefit greatly from it, just as I have.”
