Mother Sues Former Chinese Dictator for Her Daughter’s Death

 August 01, 2016

(Minghui.org) Ms. Chen Xiuling, a Falun Gong practitioner in Jiamusi City, Heilongjiang Province, filed a criminal complaint with the Supreme People’s Procuratorate on May 27, 2015, against Jiang Zemin, the former Chinese dictator, for her daughter’s death.

Ms. Chen Xiuling and her deceased daughter, Chen Ying

Daughter Dies Due to Persecution

Ms. Chen Xiuling’s daughter, Chen Ying, died at the age of 17. Her case was the first one listed on the Minghui website, and she was the first practitioner who died due to the persecution of Falun Gong.

Ying (and other practitioners) went to Beijing to appeal for Falun Gong on July 22, 1999. The police attempted to arrest her twice, but she managed to walk away.

Ying was illegally arrested on August 15 and taken to the Beijing Branch Office of Jiamusi. Li Chunyou, from the Jiamusi Police Department, handcuffed Ying and refused to give her food or water.

Li and other officers took Ying back to Jiamusi by train the next day. They beat her, threatened and insulted her. They also didn’t allow her to close the door when she used the toilet. Ying managed shut the door and jumped from the train window.

She tried to stand up twice after jumping from the train, but could not. She was taken to Fengrun Hospital and died that night.

Ms. Chen Xiuling was allowed to see her daughter’s body on the morning of August 18. The family paid about 800 yuan, the cremation fee, but did not get Ying’s ashes until recently.

CCTV used Ying’s death as part of their propaganda campaign against Falun Gong. On August 19, they broadcast news of the young woman’s death, saying she was delirious and tried to commit suicide several times.

Mother Forced to Sign False Document Filed with Human Rights Conference

Ying’s mother, Ms. Chen Xiuling was arrested on the way to Beijing on February 29, 2000 and taken to the Jiamusi Detention Center. Chen Wanyou and Zhang Hongyu forced her to put her fingerprint on a document they fabricated about her daughter’s death. This document was presented to the Human Rights Sessions in Geneva to cover up the fact that Ying died due to persecution.

Ms. Chen has also endured seven years of persecution herself. She was initially arrested on June 3, 2000 for practicing the Falun Gong exercises outside and was held for 9 days.

She faced a subsequent arrest in November 2000 and was sent to Jiamusi Forced Labor Camp in March 2001 and again in April 2003. The first detention term was about 10 months and the second term was three years.

Ms. Chen was arrested again in August 2008 and taken to Jiamusi Forced Labor Camp for the third time and eventually transferred to the Heilongjiang Women’s Drug Rehabilitation Center in December 2009.

Her most recent arrest was on July 2011, when she was talking to people about Falun Gong. She was released after being held for 88 days and extorted for 2,600 yuan.

Ms. Chen was beaten and shocked with electric batons while in detention. She was also deprived of sleep, force-fed and had her arms handcuffed behind her back for long periods.

Background

In 1999, Jiang Zemin, as head of the Chinese Communist Party, overrode other Politburo standing committee members and launched the violent suppression of Falun Gong.

The persecution has led to the deaths of many Falun Gong practitioners over the past 17 years. More have been tortured for their belief and even killed for their organs. Jiang Zemin is directly responsible for the inception and continuation of the brutal persecution.

Under his personal direction, the Chinese Communist Party established an extralegal security organ, the “610 Office,” on June 10, 1999. The organization overrides police forces and the judicial system in carrying out Jiang’s directive regarding Falun Gong: to ruin their reputations, cut off their financial resources, and destroy them physically.

Chinese law allows citizens to be plaintiffs in criminal cases, and many practitioners are now exercising that right to file criminal complaints against the former dictator.

Editor’s Note: Dear readers, do you know that Falun Dafa, originally from China, is currently practiced by people in over 100 countries? But in China, since Jul. 20, 1999, Falun Gong is defamed, slandered and persecuted due to the Chinese Communist Party’s fear of Falun Gong’s rapidly growing popularity. Jiang Zemin, former head of the Chinese Communist Party (CCP), perceived the spiritual discipline’s growing popularity as a threat to the CCP’s atheistic ideology.

[Selected Opinion Articles] The Story of My Friend Gui: How a Junk Collector and Gangster Found a New Life

From: MINGHUI.ORG

Oct. 29, 2022 | By Tang Ni

(Minghui.org) Gui is one of my relatives. His family was targeted for denunciation during the Cultural Revolution, which meant that his parents couldn’t look after him. He was often left unattended as a child and wandered around by himself. One night, he even slept in a chicken coop.

When he got a little older, Gui got to know some scavengers who went around picking up pieces of junk to sell. Although they never had decent meals, let alone on time, Gui saw that they at least had something to eat. So he followed them in becoming a scavenger.

Sometimes, when Gui walked past factories, the workers would take pity on him and gave him some scrap metal that he could sell for money. Eventually, he began to scavenge for scrap metal inside the factories. Because he was just a young boy, the factory workers pretended not to see him.

Gui, on the other hand, thought this arrangement was an easy way to make a quick buck. As a result, he no longer stayed with the other scavengers, and never told them about this new source of income.

A Hopeless Young Man

When Gui reached school age, he also joined others in the classroom. His grades were fairly good, but the easy money from the factory scraps was still on his mind. By that time, he had realized it was wrong to just take things from the factories and sell them, but stopping this bad habit was difficult.

Moreover, to survive, he made friends with some gangsters and soon became one of them. He began getting into fights all the time. He even took things from home and casually gave them to others. Though his parents were very worried about him, there was nothing they could do.

Some of Gui’s neighbors and relatives blamed his parents for not taking good care of the little boy. But during those days, targets of the Cultural Revolution were essentially prisoners and had hardly any freedom of their own.

The Red Guards watched their targets like hawks and harassed them like gangsters. Any one of the targets had to be available at the Red Guards’ beck and call—even a death in the family was not an excuse for failing to respond to a Red Guard.

Because Gui often got into gang fights, he was sent to a reformatory school. But this habit didn’t get corrected, and as he got older, he landed himself in jail.

Many felt sorry for Gui. The Cultural Revolution had turned him into a bad person, they said. Just like the Red Guards, Gui was one of the countless tragedies of this chaotic era, an era where an entire generation of young people fell into ruin.

But many who knew Gui also thought he was a lost cause by this point, since he always continued to do bad deeds—he was only going to end up in prison again and again.

As for Gui himself, he didn’t seem to care either. During this time, he never looked anyone in the eye. There was no point in crying over spilled milk, so why bother saving a broken man?

A New Beginning

Several Falun Dafa practitioners in the family were worried about Gui, including me, so we decided to try to talk some sense into him.

Starting from the traditional values of ancient China, we explained to him how our society has changed over time—and about the drastic decline in morality after the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) came into power decades ago.

“You are still young, and there are many things you could do in this world,” one of us said. “Please don’t underestimate your potential.”

We also told him about Falun Dafa, the principles of Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance, and about returning to one’s true self. We told him how following the principles of Dafa could help people return to their truest state, the state where they are the most natural.

Seeing our sincerity and faith in him, Gui began to read the Dafa books. Gradually, he stopped interacting with his old friends.

One of the gangsters, Yan, once called Gui asking for help to avenge a brother.

“The person who messed with our brother has a car parked on this street. Go and smash it,” said Yan. “I’ll play cards with him the whole day as a distraction, so nobody will know you did it.”

But Gui simply dismissed the request.

“I don’t want to be involved in this anymore,” he replied. “I need to have a normal life from now on.”

Our whole family was relieved to hear those words.

Gui has since turned over a new leaf. By reading Zhuan Falun, the main teachings of Falun Dafa, his character improved dramatically as he followed the principles of Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance.

When he shared these principles with his old friends, many of them stopped doing bad deeds as well. He also wrote letters to the prison officials he used to know to tell his story. He said that the prison barely helped him because all the inmates simply shared new ways to do bad things.

“Falun Dafa is really great,” he often told others. “This practice gave me a new life, and I will never stop practicing it for my entire life.”

Gui is only one of the tens of millions of practitioners who have benefited from Falun Dafa. There are many more stories like his on the Minghui website from over 100 countries around the world.

In today’s world, we need more good people in our society. Falun Dafa will help to bring us—and our society—back on track.

~~~~~~
二零二一年八月,阿富汗伊斯兰共和国解体。玛丽亚姆·沙希和她的妹妹,以及一个朋友决定在塔利班完全占领家园之前,离开阿富汗。当时,玛丽亚姆是欧洲一家媒体公司的记者,她的主管安排好了,请西班牙大使馆的士兵协助,护送她们由首都的喀布尔机场撤离阿富汗
到了出发的那一天,玛丽亚姆、妹妹和朋友挤在人群中,她们像被挤压得快透不过气的沙丁鱼罐头一样。为了让西班牙士兵能认出她们,三个女孩儿按照约定,穿了红黄相间,有如西班牙国旗颜色的围巾与大衣。
这一天的喀布尔机场,入口处挤满了急著撤离的人群。随著时间推移,人变得越来越多,玛丽亚姆被人群挤得连自己的脚都看不见了。就在这个时候,突然间,人群中出现了爆炸声,现场的危险和惨烈,难以描述,离死亡只有一步之遥,玛丽亚姆她们三人幸运地存活了下来。但这不是玛丽亚姆最难以忘怀的生死遭遇,最令他震撼的遭遇是发生在五年前。
~~~~~~

~~~~~~
爆炸与枪击没有带走玛丽亚姆的性命,却带给她长期的身心创伤。玛丽亚姆的心充满恐惧与困惑,她不懂,为什么那么多人死了,她却活下来了?她与那些人之间,有什么不同?
两个月后,玛丽亚姆的身体开始不对劲,她严重呼吸短促、腹痛,还心脏病发作,这些症状时好时坏,就像那场恐怖攻击一样挥之不去。
喀布尔的医生说,玛丽亚姆的病是压力太大造成的,医生给她开了镇静剂。玛丽亚姆吃了药,却还是一样犯病。
这样的状况持续了两年,玛丽亚姆改到伊朗接受治疗。那里的精神科医师诊断玛丽亚姆是恐慌症,在吃了半年的抗精神病药物后,玛丽亚姆身体的症状才获得减缓。
~~~~~~

~~~~~~
二零二零年三月,中共病毒(新冠病毒)开始在阿富汗蔓延,阿富汗首都也随即采取了大规模的隔离措施。那时,玛丽亚姆的家人都到伊朗旅游了,她一个人留下来准备硕士的毕业论文。身旁没有半个亲人的孤寂,隔离生活中的论文压力,玛丽亚姆觉得自己像是快要窒息了一般。而更糟的情况却紧接而来,玛丽亚姆开始咳嗽,连续三个月,她每天都在咳嗽及喉咙痛中醒来,玛丽亚姆不得拖著沉重无力的身体,面对著瘟疫期间隔离生活的孤寂与毕业论文的压力。
在这段特别艰难的时期,玛丽亚姆常无意识地浏览起社交媒体,好像在找著什么。
一天上午,她在网路上看到了一则消息,提到「法轮大法好,真善忍好」九字真言对新冠患者的神奇疗效。她想起自己这个治不好的感冒。抱著姑且一试的心理,玛丽亚姆静下心来,不断地用波斯语念著「法轮大法好,真善忍好」。几分钟后,她开始不停地打起喷嚏来;打完喷嚏,她觉得身体没那么重了。下午,玛丽亚姆又试了一次,这次也是喷嚏打个不停。奇妙的是,打完喷嚏,她的身体又变轻了一点。
于是玛丽亚姆想了解更多,她开始搜寻法轮大法的相关信息,并透过网路下载了《转法轮》这本书,以及法轮功五套功法的炼功音乐。
~~~~~~

~~~~~~
几年之间,玛丽亚姆历经了种种磨难,多次大难不死,最终找到法轮大法,以「真善忍」来修炼提升自己,成为一位大法弟子。让自己成为更高境界的人,成为玛丽亚姆的使命,这样的使命还挺特别的,您说是不是呢?
