(Minghui.org) Invited by the city government of San Borja, Falun Gong practitioners from Peru held a free meditation exercise class at the local senior center on August 10.
The Peru national TV station, TVPeru covered the event.
Per the invitation of the government, practitioners have taught the exercises at the senior center every week for a month. The classes have been very well-received and more and more people have come to learn.
The government officials were impressed by the physical and mental changes in the beginners. They then added the Falun Gong class to the regular community event list.
Gladys Campos said she has been sharing Falun Gong’s principles of “Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance” with her friends every day, ever since she joined the class.
“My life has changed,” Gladys said. “I have started to treat everybody around me with compassion and a peaceful mindset. When I step out of the senior center, I smile at everyone I meet.”
Another class participant, Flora Herrera, has been suffering the aftereffects of a stroke for three years. She cannot move her right arm and needs a cane to walk. She said the Falun Gong exercises made her feel better.
“The first time I did the exercises, I felt a warm energy current flowing through my body. The peaceful feeling is so wonderful,” she said.
Nora Cornejo Puente, who had been suffering from insomnia, came to the workshop three times.
“I feel great these days,” she said. “I sleep soundly every day. When I wake up, I am very happy.”
