(Minghui.org) A high-level symposium was held at the Brussels Press Club on June 29, focusing on the forced organ harvesting by the Chinese Communist Party (CCP), reported EIN News on June 29. Zhang Yanhua, a Falun Gong practitioner once detained in China for her belief, testified at the symposium.
Zhang was “arrested and imprisoned in China and had been subjected to regular medical testing to determine her fitness as an organ donor for a paying customer. She was eventually not selected,” wrote the EIN News article titled “The Brussels conference on forced organ harvesting hears witness evidence.”
Officials and human rights advocates who attended the event condemned the atrocity. “It is vital that we talk about Communist China’s completely deplorable behavior,” said Tomáš Zdechovský, a prominent Czech Member of the European Parliament in his opening remark, “It is undeniable that China has targeted minorities, including Falun Gong.”
A U.S.-based investigative journalist testified at the symposium that a kidney transplant expert offered a paying customer kidneys from donors as young as 15 years old. The doctor confirmed that the organs extracted from Falun Gong practitioners were often preferred due to the practitioners’ healthy lifestyle.
Carlos Iglesias, a Spanish lawyer and coordinator from the European legal team of the NGO Universal Declaration on Combating & Preventing Forced Organ Harvesting, called the CCP officials “serial killers on a massive scale.” He also referred to the forced organ harvesting as “a crime against humanity – a true Genocide.”
Zdechovsky stated that China’s state-sanctioned organ harvesting and trade policy is totally unacceptable. He said that it is absolutely clear that China targets Falun Gong practitioners, Tibetans, and Christians for organ harvesting, reported ThePrint in an article titled “China’s CCP accused of forced Organ Harvesting trade.”
Iglesias discussed a draft legal text that could be used as a template for governments to combat organ harvesting. Killing people and extracting their organs on a massive scale has been happening in China for the past 20 years, but the international community is neither preventing nor punishing these crimes, he added.
Willy Fautre, founder and director of Brussels-based Human Rights Without Frontiers (HRWF), also attended the symposium. He said the persecution of Falun Gong in China has reached to every corner of society. Practitioners could receive prison terms for even talking about the practice with others.
Nico Bijnens, president of Falun Gong Belgium, said one cause of the suppression was the popularity of Falun Gong. By the end of the 1990s, there were about 100 million people practicing Falun Gong in China. Since Falun Gong teaches people to live by the principles of Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance, the atheist CCP feared losing control of people’s minds and thus deemed Falun Gong a threat.
According to information from Doctors Against Forced Organ Harvesting (DAFOH), more and more evidence has surfaced since 2006 about forced organ harvesting committed by the CCP. The regime has killed prisoners of conscience for their organs, and Falun Gong practitioners are the primary victims.

Editor’s Note: Dear readers, do you know that Falun Dafa, originally from China, is currently practiced by people in over 100 countries? But in China, since Jul. 20, 1999, Falun Gong is defamed, slandered and persecuted due to the Chinese Communist Party’s fear of Falun Gong’s rapidly growing popularity. Jiang Zemin, former head of the Chinese Communist Party (CCP), perceived the spiritual discipline’s growing popularity as a threat to the CCP’s atheistic ideology.
