(Clearwisdom.net) On Saturday June 4, 2005, a group of practitioners visited Povazska Bystrica, a city with about 40,000 inhabitants in western Slovakia. They demonstrated the five sets of Falun Gong exercises and exposed the Chinese Communist Party’s brutal persecution of Falun Gong practitioners on large poster boards. People who passed by stopped to sign a petition calling for an end to this persecution.
In the afternoon, the practitioners used their time to distribute about five thousand leaflets to the inhabitants of Povazska Bystrica. Many people said, “Please, give me extra flyers, I will distribute them myself,” or, “Give me some for my neighbors.”

A tourist from China chatted with a practitioner for a long time and took copies of the introductory materials. He said it was impossible to get such information in China, and that he was thankful for Falun Dafa practitioners’ work.
(Minghui.org)Practitioners held several petition campaigns in western, central, and eastern Slovakia to call for an end to the Chinese Communist Party’s (CCP) persecution of Falun Dafa. Their petition received wide support from local residents and tourists.

Falun Dafa practitioners in Bratislava collected signatures on a petition during events they held on Panská Street near the Memorial to the Victims of the Holocaust for several Sundays before Christmas. They demonstrated the Falun Dafa exercises on Sunday, December 1, and some passersby stopped and talked with them. When they learned about the CCP’s persecution, especially the state-sanctioned harvesting of organs from living practitioners, many people signed the petition calling for it to end.
A group of tourists from France asked for more information. They said they had previously heard about the persecution and the forced organ harvesting, and they signed the petition to support the practitioners’ efforts.
Miriam, a Slovakian, said she was grateful for the opportunity to support the petition. She reminded practitioners that most people in Slovakia were still unaware of the crimes of communism.

Despite the cold weather, practitioners collected signatures on Stefanik Street in Nitra on Saturday, December 14. Many people stopped by and signed the petition.
Nikol, who was on maternity leave, signed the petition and said that she wanted to do something to help stop such an evil persecution.
Andrea, another local resident, stopped and talked with a practitioner. She signed the petition and said that practitioners’ peacefulness made her want to read more about Falun Dafa.
Several people said they heard about the human rights violations in China. Anton, a local resident, said that he’d been following the human rights situation in China for a long time, and found the persecution alarming. He was happy to sign the petition.
Practitioners also collected signatures in Poprad and Banská Štiavnica on the weekends before Christmas.

Trnava’s Market aims to enrich the city’s cultural life and give people the chance to encounter some interesting booths and businesses. People saw exercise demonstrations at the Falun Gong booth and learned more about the Chinese Communist Party’s (CCP) persecution.
Mark, a visitor at the market, approached a practitioner who was handing out flyers and said that he admired the practitioners’ efforts to raise awareness of the CCP’s persecution. He had heard about Falun Gong and the persecution in China from a friend. He signed the petition calling to stop the CCP’s persecution.

Miss Nicola from Trnava signed the petition to help stop the persecution. She had stopped by the booth to ask how she could help change things. She explained why the topic was also important in Slovakia. Before she left, she took a photo with a Falun Gong flyer in her hand to express her support for the practitioners’ efforts.
Two passersby stopped in front of the booth and decided to try the Falun Gong exercises. They did four sets of Falun Gong exercises, and one of them said that her hands and shoulders felt really good. They also expressed interest in participating in the soon-to-be-launched group practice site in Trnava.

A gentleman in a wheelchair and his wife signed the petition immediately after reading the banners telling about the persecution. Practitioners were at Rimavska Sobota’s Main Square on July 31. They were shocked when hearing about the CCP’s persecution of practitioners. They said that they are keeping their hopes up for practitioners and that the CCP must fall and face the consequences of their actions. The gentleman said, “How come no one has condemned them? My fingers are crossed!”
(Minghui.org)Falun Dafa practitioners visited six cities in central and eastern Slovakia, one after the other, from July 26 to August 2, 2024. They did draw attention to the ongoing Chinese Communist Party’s (CCP) persecution of Falun Dafa in China and also introduced the spiritual practice to people. They visited major tourist sites in Banská Bystrica, Brezno, Lučenec, Rimavska Sobota, Rožňava, and Košice.
Practitioners demonstrated the Falun Dafa (also called Falun Gong) exercises and introduced the practice to residents and tourists. They collected signatures on a petition calling to end the persecution and raised awareness of the ongoing cruelty perpetrated by the CCP regime. More than 1,000 people signed the petition to support practitioners calling to end the persecution. Local newspapers reported the event.

Slovakians Sign the Petition Calling for an End to the Persecution
The tour began at SNP Square in Banská Bystrica on July 26. After practitioners just put up informational posters, a woman stopped by the petition table and mentioned that she signed the petition last year. She hopes that this torture and persecution will end soon, and keeps her fingers crossed for the practitioners.
A married couple also stopped by the table and the woman, who was almost blind, decided to sign the petition. Her husband helped her to do so.
A group of young teenagers approached the practitioners at the square of Gen. Štefánik in Brezno on July 29. They found out about the facts of the persecution from the practitioners and signed the petition to show their support. Later, they also tried the Falun Dafa’s meditation exercise.
Another woman had received a brochure some time ago and found out about the persecution. She was glad to be able to sign the petition. She was happy that the petition drive had also come to Brezno. She hoped that the practitioners could collect many signatures that would help end the persecution.
Practitioners went to the Square of Republic in Lučenec on July 30, 20024. A mother and her daughter looked at the banners and found out about Falun Dafa practitioners being tortured in China. They were shocked. They both signed the petition, hoping their signatures would help. Two little girls curiously stopped by the petition booth. They liked the lotus flowers and message of Falun Dafa on them. When they heard about the persecution, they asked if they could sign the petition. They left holding a brochure. They promised to tell their parents about the cruelty being inflicted on Falun Dafa practitioners in China.
An Elderly Lady Said That There Are Never Enough Good Deeds to Support

One elderly lady took a brochure. After listening to a practitioner explaining the facts to her she said that she would return to sign the petition. A short while later she came back to sign the petition, saying that there are never enough good deeds to support.
Practitioners went to Rožňava’s Square of Miners the very next day. The editor of the local newspaper, Rožňavské Noviny, came to the event and wrote an article about the persecution perpetrated by the Chinese regime, which was subsequently published by the town of Rožňava on its website. The reporter reported on the facts of the persecution as well as the CCP’s forced organ harvesting in China. The report also linked to the online version of the practitioners’ petition so that readers could sign.

The event continued on Main Street in Košice on August 2. Despite the hot weather, many people of all ages stopped by. A big street band played nearby at the end of the day. The band’s members passed by the petition table and practitioners as they left. Almost all of the band members decided to support the petition.
