I like watching this Movie “Destined”. Although the actors and actresses are unknown in the Chinese entertainment circles, but I thought their actings are natural. They look fresh, and a new breath of innocent faces among the many beautiful actresses and actors out there.


The love story in this movie is somewhat innocent and sweet too. A guy protecting a gal whom he loves. Wow…that is a fairy tale and romantic storyline which every gals like.


Most importantly, the movie reveals a dark secret which is still happening in China today.


What will you choose if you were a policeman in China? Will you choose to follow your ‘CONSCIENCE’ like the lead actor in this movie, or will you choose to follow the rules blindly, and with no human feelings attached, like what the lead actor was initially.

电影《沙尘暴》♫国际电影节获奖影片【全集】（Sandstorm）由加拿大著名演员兼导演麦克‧麦洪恩（Michael Mahonen）执导这部公开谈论当在中国发生的迫害法轮功的电影获得好评。

《沙尘暴》是根据发生在中国的真实故事改编的，它描述了一位中国警官在目睹了对法轮功学员残酷的迫害与法轮功学员所表现的大善大忍行为的巨大反差之后，改变了自己原来对法轮功及法轮功学员的误解，开始了对法轮功的真正了解。

The DVD follows theatrical releases in Los Angeles and New York and screenings in 58 international film festivals where Sandstorm won 29 awards including 11 for Best Feature Film.

Sandstorm has been banned in China and created panic at Chinese Embassies and Consulates from Moscow, Russia to Houston, Texas to Northern California, where Chinese officials admonished film festivals to pull the movie from being screened or "cautioned" them to not repeat such errors in the future.

The DVD includes a Special Feature "Interview with the Director". The interview is an in-depth discussion with Sandstorm Writer/Director Michael Mahonen who discusses the inspiration for the movie, the unique circumstances surrounding the making of the movie and the persecution of Falun Gong practitioners on which the movie is based.

Storyline
He Tianying is a mid-level Chinese police officer. For twelve days and nights, he and his wife have been trapped in their home during a massive sandstorm covering a large area of China. His wife is running out of life-sustaining medicine, their young daughter is missing in the storm, electricity and phone communication have been cut off, and their food and water are running out. As He Tianying cares for his dying wife, in this isolation and confinement, his conscience starts to emerge. As a policeman, he has been involved in the vicious persecution of common Chinese citizens who follow the spiritual practice of Falun Gong. In a series of flashbacks, he painfully recalls one particular Falun Gong practitioner whom he had been attempting to force to renounce her beliefs. Under intense pressure from his supervisor, He Tianying is pushed to betray his conscience and persecute this innocent woman in order to protect his position... Written by Requisite Films

Please accept my regrets that I am unable to join you here at our nation's Capitol to mark the twelve-year anniversary of the Communist Party of China's campaign to persecute and suppress Falun Gong practitioners.

As you all know, Falun Gong is a traditional Chinese spiritual discipline which consists of moral teachings for daily life, meditation, and exercise based upon the principles of truthfulness, compassion, and tolerance. According to the 2008 Annual Report of the Congressional-Executive Commission on China, tens of millions of Chinese citizens practiced Falun Gong in the 1990s and adherents to the spiritual movement inside of China are estimated to still number in the hundreds of thousands despite the government's ongoing crackdown.

Since the 1990s, the Communist Party has grown its campaign to eradicate Falun Gong - banning books on Falun Gong, criminalizing its practice, and engaging in mass arrests of its practitioners. Falun Gong practitioners continue to be at particularly high risk of torture and other ill-treatment in detention and constitute at least half of the 250,000 officially recorded inmates in re-education through labor (RTL) camps.

Today, I add my voice to support the Wisconsin Falun Dafa Association in calling for an end to the persecution of Falun Gong in China, and celebrate the Chinese citizens who are taking a principled and peaceful stand by rejecting the violence and inequity of Communist Party rule.
