一年坚持365天的温哥华炼功点
炼功点上有的时候二十多人,有时十来个人,都是住在附近的法轮功学员。他们中间有二、三十岁的年轻人,也有六、七十岁的老人,年龄最大的已经八十二岁了。五套功法炼完刚好两个小时,之后,上班的上班去了,回家的回家,他们中的一些人还是《大纪元时报》的义工,紧接着就忙着去送报了。
是什么力量促使他们每天放弃温暖的被窝一大早就起来炼功呢?让我们听听他们是怎么说的。
炼完功一天都精神饱满
杰森是二零零一年九月在海外开始修炼法轮功的。二零零四年搬到这个炼功点附近后,只要不是特别忙,他一般都参加早晨的集体炼功。
工作做的是很辛苦的体力活的杰森说:每天早晨坚持炼功,一天都精神很好,白天工作再忙,再辛苦,都感到一身轻松。人家猜我的年龄都比实际年龄少十多岁。
杰森认为,年轻学员都应该克服懒惰,早起炼功,也是锻炼自己的意志力。
集体炼功时能量场很强
小陈和小刘是一对年轻夫妇,一九九六年就开始修炼法轮功了,去年从中国大陆移民加拿大。每天早晨夫妇俩乘公共汽车准时到炼功点炼功。
小刘说,迫害前在中国都是天天集体炼功,也是这么早的时间开始,习惯了。后来中共迫害法轮功,炼功的环境破坏了。来加拿大后又可以集体炼功了,多好啊!小刘觉得集体炼功时能量场很强,感觉特别好。以前走路有时感到腿很沉,参加集体炼功后,走路腿就感到很轻。
先生小陈也有同样的体验,他说,来加拿大后,前段时间因为经常去美国出差,炼功不能保证,身体就不舒服,很沉。现在早晨起来去炼功点上炼功,身体很轻。当然也有闹铃响了不想起来的时候,但一天都会很后悔。小陈说,后来早晨困的时候,我就问自己:你还想后悔吗?一下就清醒了,瞌睡就没有了。
小陈夫妇是在东北沈阳读书时开始修炼的,小刘说,记得那时冬天沈阳零下二十度,他们早晨还是在室外炼功。温哥华这里天气这么好,更适宜室外炼功了。
炼功后百病消
谈到起早参加集体炼功难不难,年已七十的胡阿姨觉得这真的不是个问题,炼法轮功去掉了一身的病,起个早有什么难呢?自己在家炼,容易迟一点早一点,有时不能保证五套功法一步到位,集体炼互相有个促进。
胡阿姨原来是中学校长,是在大女儿的介绍下走进修炼的。胡阿姨说,在学校工作时间长,压力大,弄了一身的病,低血压(高压七十)、风湿性关节炎、美尼尔氏综合症、血小板减少、肩周炎、支气管炎、经常头疼、感冒、口腔溃疡,消化系统也不好,平时不能碰冷水,一个左耳朵几乎听不见了,真是百病缠身。
“法轮功真的很神奇,”胡阿姨说,“九八年三月,女儿告诉我法轮功好,叫我学,五月就带了书给我。我看书的时候,看到哪里,那里的字就变大,越看越大。我当时还没有炼功,身体就慢慢的变好了。
“我炼功以来,再没有生病需要看医生的,现在血压也很正常,口腔也不发炎了,而且,听力也恢复了,戴了多年的老花镜也摘掉了,真的是无病一身轻。”
胡阿姨感慨地说,自己从法轮功中得到的太多了,付出的太少了。以前自己不懂得修炼,只知道大法好,后来不断学法,知道要修心性,遇事要找自己有什么错,不求名不为利。法轮大法太珍贵了,一定要珍惜。海外环境宽松,修炼上也不能懈怠,一定要严格要求自己。
早晨炼完功后,胡阿姨和其他许多老年学员一样,为大纪元报社做义工,拉着小车,把一叠叠的报纸送到各个存放点报架上,希望人们能从这份敢说真话的报纸上获得各种真实的信息。
修炼人的坚持
今年已经七十七岁的江阿姨,可以说是这个炼功点最坚定的主心骨,她的坚持,也带动了许多其他学员。从二零零七年她和老伴搬到这附近住,没有特殊情况(外出等),可以说从未偷懒过一次。
江阿姨承担很多讲法轮功真相的义务工作,天天忙到夜里十二点半到一点才能睡觉。只睡几个小时的觉,每天这么早起来炼功感不感到辛苦?
江阿姨说,炼功是法轮功修炼的一部份,作为修炼人不能放松自己。想到中国大陆的同修在面对迫害这么艰难的情况下,还能坚持修炼,许多学员因为坚持修炼,无辜遭受中共的迫害,被打被关,受酷刑折磨,数千人被迫害致死。同样要坚定修炼,我们起点早算什么,而且炼了功是自己得益。
江阿姨来自中国大西北的一个城市,在江阿姨认识的大陆法轮功学员中,就有三个年轻学员被中共非法抓捕后活活折磨致死。二零零零年江阿姨自己也因为去北京为法轮功上访,被非法关押十五天,强迫劳动,不给喝水,不给水洗脸刷牙。当时关在那里的学员不畏迫害,还坚持炼功。
江阿姨说,现在中国大陆的环境仍然很邪恶,迫害一刻也没有停止过,在那么艰难的情况下,大陆同修他们还在想办法一起交流,有条件的一起炼功。国外环境这么宽松,真的不应该放松自己。

Vancouver, Canada: Practitioners Join Group Practice Every Day
(Clearwisdom.net) Every morning at 5:30 a.m., Falun Dafa exercise music is played in the garden of the Burnaby Library in Vancouver, Canada. Practitioners begin their daily exercises while it’s still dark outside. They participate every day, rain or shine, snowy or windy, cold or hot.Those who go to the practice site are local Falun Dafa practitioners from the neighborhood. There are young people in their 20s, as well as older ones. The oldest is 82 years old. After they finish the five exercises in two hours, some go home and others go to work. Some volunteer their time for The Epoch Times newspaper.
Full of Energy the Whole Day after Exercises
Jason began to practice Falun Dafa in September 2001 outside of Canada. He moved to the neighborhood in 2004 and joined the group. Jason’s job is physically demanding, yet he persists in doing the exercises early in the morning every day.
“I will be energized the whole day, and I feel relaxed no matter how busy or how much I work that day. People think that I look ten years younger than I actually am,” he said.
Jason encourages other practitioners to be diligent and wake up early to do the exercises and strengthen their will power.
Strong Energy during Group Exercise
Liu and Chen are a couple who began the practice in 1996. Last year they immigrated to Canada from China. They take a bus to the library every morning. Liu said that before the persecution was launched in China in 1999, they had exercised in a group there every morning, too.
“After the Chinese communist regime started the persecution of Falun Dafa, we were unable to do that anymore. Now that we’ve come to Canada, we can exercise in a group again. How wonderful!” she said.
Liu feels especially good when she exercises with a group of practitioners: “The energy is really strong, and I feel great. I used to feel heavy in my legs when I walked. After I joined the group, my legs felt light.”
Liu’s husband Chen feels the same way. He said that when he used to go on business trips and was unable to exercise every day, he felt tired all the time. Now that he can exercise daily, he feels light and relaxed. If he misses the exercise session, he regrets it the whole day. “Now when I do not feel like waking up in the morning, I ask myself, ‘Do I want to have regret later?’ I will then quickly wake up and not be sleepy,” said Chen.
The couple came from Shenyang, in eastern China. Liu remembered that they had exercised outside in the winter in Shenyang even when the temperature was -10 degrees Fahrenheit. “The weather is so nice in Vancouver and great for exercising outdoors,” Liu said.
Ailments Disappear Through Practice
Hu is in her 70s. It is never a problem for her to wake up early to exercise. All her ailments disappeared after she began to practice Falun Dafa.
“It’s guaranteed that I will do all five exercises every day. Plus, I can share my experiences with other practitioners,” she said.
Hu used to be a middle school principal. Her daughter had introduced her to Falun Dafa. Hu said she was under a lot of stress being a principal, which damaged her health. She used to have low blood pressure, rheumatoid arthritis, a disorder of the inner ear, low blood platelet count, shoulder pain, trachea inflammation, headaches, and bad digestion.
“Falun Dafa is truly miraculous. In March 1998, my daughter told me about it. In May, I began to read the teachings. When I read, the characters enlarged wherever I set my eyes on them. My health improved even before I did the exercises,” said Hu. “After I began to exercise, I no longer needed a doctor. My blood pressure is normal, my hearing recovered, I do not need my glasses, and I feel relaxed and energized.”
Hu is determined to follow the teachings of Falun Dafa and progress diligently in cultivation practice. She volunteers for The Epoch Times and delivers newspapers to different news stands every morning.
The Persistence of a Practitioner
Jiang, who is 77 years old, is a pillar of the group. Her persistence mobilized many practitioners to join the group practice in the mornings. She moved to the vicinity with her husband in 2007 and has never slacked off since then.
Jiang does a lot of Falun Dafa work and does not go to bed until after midnight. With only a few hours of sleep every day, she considers doing the exercises as part of her cultivation practice and thinks that she should not slack off as a practitioner.
“Practitioners in China insist on practicing even in a harsh environment. Many of them are beaten, incarcerated, tortured, or even killed because they do not give up their belief in Falun Dafa. I want to be a steadfast practitioner, too, and waking up early is nothing compared to what practitioners in China go through. Besides, I benefit from doing the exercises,” said Jiang.
Jiang came from a city in northwest China. Three young practitioners she knew died because of torture and other persecution inflicted by the Chinese Communist Party. In 2000, Jiang went to Beijing to appeal for justice for Falun Dafa. She was incarcerated for 15 days. During her detention, she was forced to perform slave labor, was not given water, and was not allowed to clean herself up. She said the practitioners who were detained together with her were brave and did not fear the persecution. They insisted on doing the exercises while they were incarcerated.
“Practitioners in China still try to practice Falun Dafa and exercise together in such a difficult time. As practitioners overseas, we really should not slack off just because the environment is easy for us,” said Jiang.
