John Kusumi "Genocidal Correctness"— Western media is complicit in the persecution of Falun Gong

In the second of our three-part special interview, China expert John Kusumi analyzes the current political situation in China from the perspective of the United States government.

Questions linger over Chinese official Wang Lijun's February visit to the U.S. Consulate. He may have sought asylum in exchange for providing information.

[John Kusumi, China Support Network]:
"The United States should permit people from these non-free societies to defect, especially if they have valuable information that makes them a good intelligence asset. Every bit of logic says that the White House should have accepted the Wang Lijun request for asylum."

The Wang Lijun incident happened just days before Chinese Vice President Xi Jinping's visit to Washington, D.C.

Whether or not Wang Lijun was actually seeking asylum is unclear. But what is certain is that after spending the night at the U.S. Consulate, Wang Lijun was escorted to Beijing under heavy security.

Bill Gertz of the Washington Free Beacon, citing an unnamed U.S. official, has reported that the Obama administration denied Wang Lijun asylum for fear of upsetting the Chinese regime.

[John Kusumi, China Support Network]:
"Now I don't know whether or not that means Obama is or is not taking sides in a power struggle. If you think about it, why would Obama have been receiving Xi Jinping in the first place because Xi Jinping is not a leader that has democratic legitimacy? He is not elected by the people of China. He is just a designated next dictator of China. In other words, there is no democratic legitimacy in the entire succession process…China has already had four Communist dictators and it should be that four is enough. It's like stop there. Why would we when there's no reason to roll out a red carpet and give a welcome to the fifth communist dictator in China. And so the White House is really not thinking clearly and doesn't have its priorities in order because China should be of concern to the nations of the free world"

Wang Lijun and his former boss Bo Xilai are part of a political faction within the Chinese regime led by Jiang Zemin. The single most defining characteristic of Jiang's faction is the persecution of Falun Gong.

[John Kusumi, China Support Network]:
"And some people in Congress are strongly against the persecution of Falun Gong and they would have already spoken out about it. What happened though is that when the story was given to CNN, the story hit the floor, as they say the cutting room floor where the editors leave all the serious news…CNN has been unhelpful let's say."

John Kusumi is writing a book called, "Genocidal Correctness." In his view, Western media is complicit in the persecution of Falun Gong.

[John Kusumi, China Support Network]:
What CNN has done is not just politically correct, it's genocidally correct and that makes them accessories during the fact. In other words, all of the evil that happens to the Falun Gong practitioners in the prisons there, it happens first because of the individual evil people who ordered it, but there are also the enablers. I mean everyone, even the people in the jails, if the evil's happening and you don't stop it, then you are enabling it. But I wouldn't only blame the jailers in China, I would also blame the foreign policy of the US executive branch and I would blame the US news media for not bringing this to people's attention. They have deliberately chosen to turn a blind eye, deliberately chosen to sweep under the rug some hard facts, some valid information. There's an entire sequence. There's been this persecution story going on for more than 10 years and they continue to act ignorant of it… but outwardly to watch CNN you don't see they have the slightest concern about this. They need to be called out on it."

As tensions come to a head between Jiang Zemin and Hu Jintao's factions, the question of China's future becomes more uncertain.

[John Kusumi, China Support Network]:
"If China has a real day of freedom, when we open up the jails, when we open up the medical centers and cameras go in, it will be like opening the gates of Auschwitz…the world will learn what happened.
