Nine Pairs of Shoes (A True Story in China)
In Sichuan, there is a Grandpa Wang, his wife died early. He treats others with kindness. His son and daughter are hardworking and kind, and his 7-year-old grandson is cute.
But, Grandpa Wang suffered from a strange disease. His legs would get painful on rainy days. He couldn’t even walk. His body was itchy all over. He scratched and scratched all day long. It was too painful.
He has tried all medicines, but it couldn’t cure his illness. Grandpa Wang was hurt, he blamed himself for bringing burden to his children. Even his grandson weeped, “How can I find a way to cure my grandpa’s illness?”
One day, his niece told him: “Uncle, try practice Falun Gong.
Falun Gong can bring you miracle, try to be ”Truthfulness, Benevolence, and Forbearance’ , be a good person, practice the exercise and you could be cured without taking any medicine.”
Grandpa Wang practiced Falun Gong. His illness was really cured. He was grateful to Master, and sweared to be a good person. He spent a year to pave the path which turned muddy on rainy days into a stone-paved road. The villagers were very grateful to him.
Grandpa Wang looked 10 years younger after practicing Falungong. He could do all tasks that previously he couldn’t. He helped villagers carry water, collect firewood. He likes telling funny stories to the children which made everyone laughed.
However, on July 22, 1999, the television started to slander Falun Gong, and distorted the truth. Government had also come to town and disallowed Grandpa Wang to practice Falun Gong. Grandpa Wang was hurt.
He could not sleep and eat all day. He was sad.
How could such a good practice be slandered? The rumors must have deceived and poisoned many people.
Grandpa Wang would like to go Beijing and say a fair word of conscience and justice for Master, and Falun Gong.
But he had no money, and he heard that policemen were on trains to arrest Falun Gong practitioners who were going to Beijing to redress the grievances.
“I would just walk!” Grandpa Wang prepared several pairs of shoes, and set off along the railway. He walked to Beijng with amazing perseverance.
After walking for 2 months, he reached Beijing! He heard that police were constantly arresting Falun Gong practitioners on the way.
The police disallowed the practitioners to speak for Falun Gong.
Grandpa Wang changed to clean clothes and reached Tiananmen Square.
At the square, police were also arresting Falun Gong practitioners without valid reasons.
Seeing Falun Gong practitioners being unreasonably arrested at Tiananmen Square. Grandpa Wang decided to sit down and meditate. He decided to do a silent protest. Just as he sat down, a police immediately rushed over, shouting: “Here is another one! “
“Do not catch me first! ” Grandpa Wang exclaimed, “Let me finish!”
The police hesitated and saw Grandpa Wang bringing out pairs of worn out shoes from his bag.
He placed 9 pairs of worn out shoes on the ground.
“Youngster, I walked from Sichuan for 2 months. 9 pairs of shoes were worn out during my journey to Beijing. I just want to tell you and the government, ‘Falun Dafa is good! Falun Dafa is a righteous way!
The Government is wrong! ‘”
The police was shocked and at that moment, he forget his mission, and was completely touched by Grandpa Wang’s sincerity and compassion. Looking at Grandpa Wang and his 9 pairs of worn out shoes, the police’s eyes turned moist.
The police held back his tears, waved to Grandpa Wang. “I know, I will tell them. You can go back.” And the police walked away. Thus, Grandpa Wang was not arrested, and after fulfilling his wish, he returned home.
After learning Grandpa Wang had returned. His family and the villagers were particularly pleased. Like before, Grandpa always treated others kindly, and do good deeds.
He always tell people from time to time, that the media is lying. He said: “I practice Falun Gong, it cured my illness. I am a living witness! “
The most despicable was the so-called “self-immolation” incident staged in January 2001, which was reported worldwide to frame Falun Gong.
The incident is criticized by various international organizations, including United Nations NGO International Education & Development Agency in Geneva, as a government-staged action to deceive people.
