Hu Jintao’s speech is interrupted by a protester during Lueng Chun-ying’s inaugural ceremony. Hu is in Hong Kong for the 15th anniversary of the former British colony’s handover to Chinese rule. China’s Communist leader swore Lueng in as Hong Kong’s chief executive.
Shortly after Hu began speaking, election committee member, Ken Tsang began shouting slogans. He demanded an end of one-party rule in China and the vindication of the bloody crackdown at Tiananmen Square in 1989.
An official demanded Tsang return his event pass after he was removed from the room.
Tsang represented the social welfare sector in the 1200-strong pro-Beijing election committee that elected the city’s new leader Leung Chun-ying in late March.
Tsang explained why he shouted at the Chinese leader.

“I think when you see this murderous political regime, when you see this undemocratic, appointed Leung Chun-ying, you will do the same, all Hong Kong people, all Chinese will do the same and hope to shout these slogans — vindicate June 4 (Tiananmen crackdown), end one-party dictatorship, build a democratic China. I know we all work for our bosses, you (security guards) have your jobs, you are working according to your orders, I act according to my conscience. That’s all.”

In a hall filled with Chinese and Hong Kong officials, plus elite businessmen, Tsang was quickly tackled to the ground by security.
The Chinese regime has promised Hong Kong free elections by 2017. Many are skeptical, especially with the inauguration of Lueng Chun-ying for a five-year term. Lueng is seen as at least very friendly to authorities in Beijing, and has been accused of being an underground Communist Party member by some. Many Hong Kongers think that, even if elections are held, they will somehow end up with a pro-Beijing ballot.
