Fakeness From Top Down in China
China-based Legal Daily revealed on May 27,
that the Chinese Ministry of Public Security
admits of counterfeits being ubiquitous in China.
Southern Daily also reported that the toxic toys
are destined only for domestic sales.
This news has been widely circulated online,
arousing huge indignation of netizens nationwide.
Some say the root cause of the counterfeit problem
is the Chinese Communist Party (CCP).
Southern Daily said that a sampling study
of an international environment protection agency
found that many plastic toys in China contain
the toxic phthalates, which has been prohibited
from being used in the toy manufacturing.
The report said, an expert in the Chinese toy industry
reveals the double standards in toy manufacturing
in China. High standards are used for export toys
that are made of non-toxic paint and raw materials,
while domestic toys use low-cost,
but toxic raw materials harmful to human health.
As the June 1 Children's Festival draws near,
netizens are especially indignant. A netizen said:
“Poor Chinese children, you are so unfortunate
to be born in China.” “These businesses
and government inspectors are unscrupulous.
It is the result of power and money collusion.”
Zhang Tianliang (political commentator):
“The problem does not just lie
in the unscrupulous businessmen.
China's political system is actually a big cause.
You don't have media monitoring, independent justice.
The CCP would suppress any rights safeguarding efforts.”
One netizen said that it is a pity so many children
have to play with toys that are toxic to them,
but it is tragic for a 9-year-old pupil in Hubei
to hang himself because he could not afford to buy
a RMB36 study guide, as reported by media
on May 27. He even didn't have a toxic toy to play.
Legal Daily said, on May 26, fifteen inspectors
from the Ministry of Public Security were invited
to visit an exhibit of confiscated counterfeit products
ranging from altered wine to phony brief cases,
touching every single aspect of people's daily lives.
Gao Feng, Associate Director of Investigation
in the Ministry of Public Security said,
there is no place in China without counterfeits.
Techniques for making counterfeits are so advanced,
people can't tell the genuine products from the fake.
He said that students in exams found their pencils
to be fake, and could not help panicking.
Counterfeiters immerse diseased pork or chicken
meat into sheep urine to turn it into "lamb".
The fake products in the exhibit included waste oils,
dyed steam buns, clenbuterol-ed lean meat, etc.
Fake drugs include cold medicines and antibiotics.
To increase weight for more profit,
some fake drugs were mixed with ferrous powder.
Wang Chengde, Hong Kong director of State Admin
of Traditional Chinese Medicine said:
“Many counterfeits exist in the medical field.”
Yu Lian, director of China City Development Center
agreed: “We could be a victim too.”
Netizens commented:
“This is not strange. Fakeness is from top down.”
“The integrity of Chinese people was destroyed
by the movements of the CCP,
leaving behind only the lies and counterfeits.
How could such a nation excel in the world?”
“Too many fake servants, but real corrupt officials!”
In fact, the former director of this exhibition division,
was given a death sentence last November
for bribery, with 2-year reprieve. Its former
associate director was also sentenced to 12 years.
Zhang Weiguo, former Beijing bureau director of
the World Economic Herald: “The root cause
of counterfeiting in China is CCP's political system.
The poison comes from the system, so it is difficult
to correct counterfeit problems without correcting
the system. In fact, it is a dooming signal for CCP.”
In 2008, Premier Wen Jiabao said: “The government
will go all out to improve food safety. I don't believe
food safety problems cannot be solved in 2 years.”
Two years later, the problems persist
and Wen said that the food safety incidents
indicated how degenerated the Chinese morality is.”
On May 11, Southern Weekend magazine exposed
the “Special Supply” system for high-ranking
CCP officials. On May 19, a Time Weekly article
“The 'Special Supplies' That Demised the USSR,”
revealed the huge special supply system
for the Soviet privileged class and its relationship
to the demise of the USSR.
The article hinted the same fate for the CCP.

(W/ English Subtitles)

Inner Mongolia' Protests Continue
In recent days, Inner Mongolian herders
continued protesting; authorities dispatched police
and a large army, declared martial law, and arrested
dozens to control the protests' wave.
International human rights organizations are very concerned
and call on China to respect freedom of speech
and assembly, not to carry out a violent crackdown.
Since May 22, protests and demonstrations
have been erupting in Inner Mongolia, thousands
are squaring off with armed police.
On May 24, about 2000 students from the city
of Xilinhot disregarded the school's attempts
to prevent them from leaving the school.
The students came out to demonstrate,
and called for resolving Mo Rigen's murder case,
the violent "beating-to-death" incident by coal miners.
They demanded authorities
"respect the rights and interests of herders."
On May 26, people went on protests in Xiwuqi,
Xianghuangqi, Dongwuqi local areas.
During police crackdown, a car deliberately drove
toward protesters, injuring a few female students.
Two girls had fractured legs and feet.
Some demonstrators were arrested by authorities.
On May 27, authorities started military control in
Xiwuqi and Xianghuangqi areas, confining students
to "staying in school and continue classes
on weekends." Online forums are shut down.
More than 300 people in Zhengxianglanqi
crossed through the armed police shield wall,
straight into the gate of the government building.
Around 40 people were arrested.
Catherine Barber, Amnesty International's
Asia Pacific deputy director said in a statement:
"Chinese authorities must respect freedom of speech
and assembly for protesters, not to carry out
a violent crackdown."
She stressed that, given the heavy repression
of similar protesters in Xinjiang and Tibet,
there are real grounds for concern about the situation
in Inner Mongolia.
here are 6 million ethnic Mongolian in China.
For a long time, the Mongols have been suppressed
in politics and cultural areas by Chinese authorities.
CEO of Citizen Power, a senior fellow at Harvard
University, Dr. Yang Jianli, said that China's ethnic
problem is very serious and a result of the CCP's
(Chinese Communist Party) ethnic policy.
CCP has never given autonomy to any minority
ethnic groups and their culture was destroyed.
Yang Jianli: "Han Chinese have accounted for 80%
of the Inner Mongolia population, which language
is completely in a disadvantageous situation.
With domestic and other human rights issues rising,
ethnic repression and issues of culture extinction
are also exposed. Today we see one such incident."
Bloggers are calling for a large-scale protest
in the capital city of Hohhot on May 30.
Yang Jianli: "Large-scale protests in the future
will be spontaneous rather than calling with intention.
These events at first appear very small,
but in the end become a flashpoint."
BBC Chinese network reported that ethnic problems
in Tibet and Xinjiang attract worldwide attention,
but the plight of the Inner Mongolia people
has not been given any international attention.
Dr. Yang Jianli believes that CCP didn't respond
to criticism from the international Community (IC)
because it knew that the IC could not do anything.
Yang Jianli: "I think that the IC not only needs
to call out, but to also pressure CCP by inflicting
punishment, such as disqualifying it
from the United Nations Human Rights Council."
He also stressed that the CCP's internal security
spending has surpassed its military spending.
CCP has moved most of the capital resources
to the front line. Oriental Daily also claimed
there were no reports on protests in Inner Mongolia
after May 28, due to the CCP's tight security.

Dear friend, do you know that people in over 114 countries practice Falun Gong?
In countries outside of China, Falun Gong isn't persecuted, and in fact has received more than 2000 awards and recognitions for its great virtue.
In China, since 20 Jul 1999 , Falun Gong is defamed, slandered and persecuted due to Jiang Zemin's jealousy and fear of Falun Gong's rapidly growing popularity.
Many people believed the government's slanderous media propaganda and hated Falun Gong.
The most despicable was the so-called "self-immolation" incident staged in January 2001, which was reported worldwide to frame Falun Gong.

The incident is criticized by various international organizations, including United Nations NGO International Education & Development Agency in Geneva, as a government-staged action to deceive people.

NTDTV Logo Masked by Pro-CCP media, Why? (W/ English Sub)
NTDTV Logo Masked by Pro-Chinese Communist Party media, Why?
US aircraft carrier "USS Carl Vinson" battle group that was responsible for the sea burial of Osama bin Laden, arrived in Hong Kong, attracting all the media. NTD reporters in HK were invited by US Consulate to conduct interviews on the carrier. Next day, HK media "China Review News Agency" published news pictures, with NTDTV's logo being masked with mosaic.
On May 23, China Review published a report titled "Carrier that Buried Bin Laden at Sea Visiting HK”.
In its photos, NTDTV's logo is in a very striking location, being flanked by HK Cable TV and The TVB (HK). Communist mouthpiece CCTV was at the bottom. However, NTDTV's logo was masked on purpose.
According to NTD reporter Liang Zhen, who was invited onto the carrier, there were hundreds of media applying for interviews on the aircraft carrier, but only 100 were approved by the U.S. Consulate.
Two reporters of NTD received the approval.
Regarding China Review masking NTD's logo in photos, Liang Zhen said it is not an isolated case.
HK's Phoenix Satellite TV and HK ATV have been asked not to let NTDTV's logo appear on television.
Liang Zhen (NTD reporter in HK): NTDTV's logo was masked on purpose. This shows that someone is afraid of NTD. I feel that this incident shows that China Review is more pro-Communist Party than Phoenix and ATV. This is very alarming. Whether NTD logo can appear on screen or not has become a background check for these media. Are they pro-CCP? To what extent are they controlled?
All these could be figured out from small details.
HK Open magazine executive editor Cai Yongmei said from China Review's conduct, we can see that it has a background connected with the CCP, and it works for the Central Propaganda Department .
Cai Yongmei (HK Open magazine Executive Editor): I feel it is very funny (to mask NTD's logo).
Why doesn't China Review use the name of Xinhua? They tried to create an image of being Independent.
But if you are not objective, it are still revealing to people of your CCP background.
Cai pointed out that in recent years, the CCP spent large amounts of money to buy overseas media, trying to use them to speak for it, with little success.
Cai: In overseas market, news should be objective. If you make news with certain confinements,
or even with ideology orientation, it is hard for you to become competitive.
Why NTD is feared and severely blocked by the CCP?
Liang Zhen: NTDTV and other independent media that report the truth became a thorn in CCP's side.
News blocked by CCP are immediately reported by us. We bring Chinese people's voice to the world,
which is what the CCP most afraid of. Once CCP is exposed, its party culture brainwashing will lose effect.
Regarding China Review's behavior, NTD spokeswoman Hong Kaili made a strong protest.
Hong Kaili (NTD spokeswoman): NTD strongly condemns this act of helping the CCP to ban independent media. This made media personnel to worry about HK's free press environment.
As one of few independent global Chinese media, NTD hopes people to pay continued attention to
the suppression and discrimination against NTD by the CCP and some pro-CCP media.
Recently NTD Asia-Pacific was denied contract renewal by Chunghwa Telecom in Taiwan.
This has caused concerns in Taiwan and globally. US, European and Taiwanese politicians and
NTD audience all strongly condemn the CCP's interference with news freedom.
Liang Zhen said, NTD's coverage is increasing, and it is gaining more popularity. The CCP's suppression made NTD famous globally. Liang believes NTD Asia-Pacific's issue would soon be satisfactorily resolved, and more will watch NTDV.

Surprise! "Mao Zedong Kneeling Statue" Appears (W/ English Subtitles)
Surprise! “Mao Zedong Kneeling Statue” Appears
Recently, a blog article has been widely circulated among Chinese readers. The article shows a statue
of Mao Zedong kneeling. Netizens comment that Mao Zedong going down on his knee is inevitable.
Commentators point out that criticism of Mao Zedong is getting popular, yet for the heinous Mao Zedong,
even “repentance” would not diminish his crimes.
In this article, entitled “Repent, Mao Zedong!” the most engaging part is a statue of Mao Zedong on his knees. In the statue, Mao Zedong kneels down with his right hand over his chest for repentance.
The article says, “Mao Zedong destroyed the 5000-year Chinese culture, murdered 80 million lives, ruthlessly devastated humanity, topping the 3 murderous monsters of the 20th century (Mao Zedong, Stalin and Hitler). He was an atheist and feared nothing. He called himself a god, believed himself to be omnipotent.
The article states, “[Mao Zedong] should kneel before the Chinese people, the Chinese culture and the entire humanity and repent!”
A victim of the anti-rightist campaign, Ms. Yan Tunfu believes that more and more people have recognized that Mao Zedong is a tyrant.
Yan Tunfu: “Many people believe that Mao Zedong is nobody and worthless. More and more people, not just former victims, many others, including intellectuals and many common people also recognize this.”
Ms. Yan Tunfu pointed out that for an evil person like Mao Zedong, repentance is elevating him. Even if he did repent, it would not erase his crimes.
Former Bijie Daily's reporter, Li Yuanlong, told NTD “I believe for someone like Mao Zedong, it is not an issue of merits and demerits, but rather a question of how to settle accounts with his evil crimes. Actually I believe that bronze statue is a glorification of Mao Zedong. Someone like Mao Zedong would never voluntarily repent.”
From the 1935 Zunyi Meeting to his death in 1976, Mao Zedong was the highest leader of the CCP. During his rule, tens of millions of Chinese people died unnatural deaths. Just during the cultural revolution, half of Chinese families were under persecution.
Late 2004, the Epoch Times published the Nine Commentaries on the Chinese Communist Party. People were able to understand the crimes of Mao Zedong even more clearly.
Li Yuanlong, “This voice [criticizing Mao Zedong] is very popular amongst people who can think independently.”
Famous Chinese economist Mao Yushi recently published his response to “The Fall of Communism” by Xin Ziling. He wrote that Mao Zedong's emphasis on “class struggle” caused tens of millions of Chinese to die unnatural deaths and that the Cultural Revolution caused the destruction of traditional Chinese culture.
The New York Times' contract photographer Du Bin recently published a book, "Chairman Mao's Purgatory " describing the history of famine during the 1960's and exposed Mao Zedong's heinous crime of purposefully causing the starvation of tens of millions of people.
Shanghai newspaper Wenhui Readers' Weekly publicly exposed in Feb. Mao's thanking of the Japanese invaders. In effect, the invasion helped Chinese communists grow, and eventually seize the power. That's why Mao was grateful of Japanese invasion.
The Mao Zedong repentance statue was created by Chinese artists Gao Shen and Gao Qiang. Their father was labeled “counter-revolutionary” in the Cultural Revolution and persecuted to death. The brothers currently live in Beijing. Some of their works were collected in “Modern Chinese Art History” and the Chinese and foreign museums.
Earlier this year, a ten-meter tall Mao Zedong statue in Hainan province by the sea was intentionally
destroyed and split into five pieces. Netizens called this “the most rewarding demolition!”

Chinese Communist Party Intensifying Overseas Propaganda
China's Central Television (CCTV) is lunching an international video channel to be aired worldwide. Xinhua's North American news branch also began to function on Times Square. The CCP (Chinese Communist Party) invests aggressively in its international propaganda. Experts said, no matter how CCP revamps its media, they remain to be the communist party』s mouthpiece.
VOA reported on May 25, that CCTV launched its international video channel, where audiences can download news documents via Internet.
Previously, CCTV programs were transmitted to the world via the Associated Press and Reuters.
The North U.S. branch of Xinhua.net lunched on Times Square its 7th Xinhua's station in the U.S.
There is also an English channel for Xinhua.net, with English programs played 24 hours a day.
Senior Chinese media reporter Gao Yu noted that CCP has schemed to take over a position in media
in the battle to spread its propaganda internationally.
Gao Yu: “At first CCP put RMB 45 billion into the Mass Propaganda scheme. Now, it gets more extravagant as it spends people's wealth. They just don't care.”
Zhang Weiguo, director of Trend Magazine, said that it's CCP new scheme in battling media market, as Xinhua.net, People's Daily and CCTV endeavor to embellish themselves to rival western medias,
veiling its nature of CCP propaganda.
Zhang Weiguo: “The Western world has a limited awareness on the CCP's measures, because they lack basic life experience in CCP media control. In the communists' world, and China in particular, its control is of a superb proficiency, far beyond what most westerns can imagine.”
VOA reported that in a forum China's Internet Study, hosted by Georgetown University, scholars noted that CCP controls Internet much as they do CCTV, to create a world of fantasy via information filtering. China's Internet network is far from international; it is LAN based. Or as said by Shanthi Kalathil, former reporter of the Wall Street Journal, a different search engine results in a different reality.
Professor Jiang Min from Carolina University said at the forum that Google searches internationally, whereas Baidu.com searches domestic databases. She thought that China's Internet was much like CCTV, giving an illusive reality made by CCP.
Zhang Weiguo also noted that in today's high tech Internet development, governmental media control to brainwash people becomes less and less effective.
Zhang Weiguo: “Internet media, as a new means for information transmission, features everyone functioning as news agency or station. It diversifies information, surpasses the one-Party ruling situation, and it's no longer the previous monopolized system.”
Prof. Jiangmin also mentioned about a popular joke, from her times at CCTV; the CCTV 30 mins news had the following pattern: 10 mins - how busy CCP officials were, 10 mins - how happy is the life of Chinese people, 10 mins - how miserable is the rest of the world.
Jiangmin said that it is largely true not only about the Internet, but also the search engines, that CCP has its touch to intervene and re-shape.

China Scholars Challenge Marxism-Leninism (W/ English Sub)

China Scholars Challenge Marxism-Leninism
Recently, many China's scholars pointed out the hazard of Marxism-Leninism and Mao Thought. They criticized and questioned these theories, requiring them to be mandatory removed. Some analysts are concerned that these “anti Marxism-Leninism” scholars might be suppressed by the authorities.
In China, currently surrounded by “red songs” and a chilled political climate, economist Mao Yushi published an online article, criticizing the CCP's (Chinese Communist Party) political cornerstones, Marxism-Leninism and Mao Thought
On May 13, Zhang Xuezhong, a professor from East China University of Political Science and Law (ECUPSL), wrote to the Minister of Education, Yuan Guiren, asking to remove the Marxism, Mao Thought, and Deng Theories from college course lists, in an attempt to liberate Chinese people from decades of political lies.
Hu Ping, Chief Editor of Beijing Spring, believes that governments cannot impose a theory or an idea on people by force or indoctrination.
Hu Ping: “CCP likes and agrees with these theories, but it is wrong to impose them on people by a country's public power or by making mandatory courses and core exams through the Ministry of Education.”
Forcibly imposing a certain philosophy or political idea in education, the whole society will stay in ignorance and people will lose courage to seek the truth. To force people to accept and express a certain philosophy or political idea is an invasion of freedom of thought and speech.
Lan Shu, a commentator, said that upon entering the 21st Century, Chinese, especially intellectuals, have realized and demanded freedom of thought, and the freedom to seek the truth.
Lan Shu: “To build a harmonious society, you first need to decide what mainstream value is, and what the society is based on. For example, western societies value freedom and equality. How about China? Since the bankruptcy of the international communist movement and the Cultural Revolution, this mainstream value has been missing.”
Currently, China's leftish website, Utopia, started collecting signatures in an attempt to have a public prosecution of Mao Yushi and Xin Ziling. Zhang Xuezhong is also threatened by ECUPSL,
fearing that he might lose his job.
Lan Shu: “What authorities speak, write, or the Party Constitution, is all still communism. To advocate any other ideology is considered a crime of subversion and you will be arrested. Then the Chinese society is actually a society without any mainstream values.”
Lin Heli, a political commentator in Hong Kong, also believes that CCP's current factional struggle is about political positions and economic interests. But on the issue of CCP's position as a permanent ruling party, all factions agree on the policy to actively suppress any unstable factors. Therefore, they still need the excuse
of Marxism-Leninism and Mao-Deng Thought.

fearing that he might lose his job.

Safe Food for Chinese Officials Only (W/ English Sub)

Safe Food for Chinese Officials Only
As Chinese people worry about the tinted food, they recently discovered a “special provision” system, supplying food produce only to officials. The system was set up right after the CCP (Chinese Communist Party) took rule in China. The provision system continues untill today, providing safe vegetables to CCP officials.
Recently, a special greenhouse in Beijing attracted media attention. Southern Weekend reported that its vegetables have strict safety standards. The produce is to provide for “Beijing Customs.” The 200 ha vegetable garden is protected by 2 m. high iron fence and five security guards.
The report said this is one of many special areas devoted to production for government officials. Many government departments, including Quality Control Bureau and Beijing Customs, have their vegetable gardens in Beijing suburbs.
An anonymous informant told Southern Weekend that he learned two years ago the Supreme People's Court in Shaanxi province had its own farm 30 km away from the Xi'an city. Vegetables there were guaranteed to be safe.
These special areas produce truly green products with safety standards; no chemicals are used. Caretakers pay attention to timing of harvest, and every procedure is strictly controlled. These gardens have “secret rules,” maintaining a low-key presence.
Beijing resident: “Rich state-owned companies are taking care of their own daily lives. Beijing Education Bureau opened a base to raise all kinds of things – fish, vegetables. They hire people to manage it, and divide all the harvests among themselves. No one cares for the ordinary people. Officials enjoy life, and we eat and wait to die.”
The “special food provision” system was setup right after the CCP took control of China. It was meant for high-ranking officials. The system is now spread widely for all officials. It is clear that food safety issues can't be resolved as food for officials can meet strict requirements.
A Shanghai resident said, that the powerful have special supplies, leaving poisoned food to others.
Shanghai Resident: “This is a poisoned country, with toxic food, clothing, and other things. Our living space, the propaganda, culture and morality are all full of poisonous elements. Nothing is normal.”
When some tinted food is exposed, only producers are punished, but not those in charge of food quality and commerce. The State Council has nine food-related ministries but only one vice premier came out to apologize to the public for the tinted food.
Some commented that to eliminate tinted food, China must punish the perpetrators, and implement monitoring responsibility system. The special provision system should be removed and officials should eat the same food as citizens.

China's "Princelings" Economy (W/ English Subtitles)
China's “Princelings” Economy
Reuters Breakingviews columnist Hugo Dixon's recent article on China's economy points out that the “class” system in China is causing inequality and hurting the economy and society.
According to Hugo Dixon, China's “class” system operates on several levels: at the top of the socio-economic scale are the “princelings,” children of CCP'(Chinese Communist Party) officials; then are bureaucrats, who enjoy luxury lifestyles funded by the people's taxes and bribes; and finally those who run state-owned enterprises.
Prof. Xie Tian at University of South Carolina: “In China, the most critical industries and the most important enterprises, from finance to telecommunication and Internet, are all controlled by the CCP, their so-called “princelings,” which is very unfair to the people.”
The newest online ranking of China's “princelings” puts Wang Jun, son of former CCP vice-chairman
Wang Zhen, in first place. Wang Jun is a president of the Citic Group, a company worth RMB701.4billion.
The second place is held by Jiang Zemin's son Jiang Mianheng, who founded China Unicom, a company now worth RMB166.6 billion. On the list are Zhu Rongji's daughter Zhu Yanlai, Li Peng's son Li Xiaopeng and daughter Li Xiaolin, Hu Jintao's son Hu Haifeng, and Wen Jiabao's son Wei Yunsong.
Dixon described these “princelings” as “children of important party officials, who have become multimillionaires by trading on their contacts.”
Analyst Caoan Jushi: “In recent years, we see that China's economic development is not based on the growth of public companies, but on large family enterprises. Such enterprises are controlled by interest groups, such as “princelings,” resulting in corruption and wasteful consumption of economic resources.”
Caoan Jushi believes that interest groups will also suppress working' and even middle classes, making it impossible to succeed by fair competition as in Western capitalist development. Therefore, “crony capitalism” is a great obstacle to China's development.
According to Hugo Dixon, the CCP is well aware of these problems. But interest groups wish to keep the current state against people's interest.
Xie Tian: “It's impossible. We all know that the princelings economic success is connected to their political and military power. The CCP has continued such a pattern through the second and third generation leaders
with the goal to strategically reinforce and extend their power. It is of their own interest, they'll never take actions against their children.”
Caoan Jushi thinks China's crony capitalism problem can only be solved by law, not by the leaders.
Caoan Jushi: “All of these problems require systematic solutions. Of course, in certain cases, they may take actions against, like some interest groups no longer in power; but to solve these problems from their roots,
systematic and public supervision is needed.
Both Xie Tian and Caoan Jushi believe that the cause of China's crony capitalism lies in the monopoly of the CCP. Such crony capitalism results in great social gaps and conflicts, which will trigger severe social crises.
Hugo Dixon wrote in his article: “China's economy is riddled with vested interests, while free speech is suppressed. This potentially explosive mixture sounds similar to Hosni Mubarak's Egypt. One lesson from the Arab Spring is that populations grow restless when they think rulers and their cronies enrich themselves unfairly.”

North Korea Seeks Help? (W/ English Subtitles)

NK Seeks Help?
North Korean (NK) leader Kim Jong Il visited China, during the summit of China, Japan and South Korea. It is rare for Kim Jong Il to visit China three times within a year. An outsider' analysis pointed out that this indicates NK's seeking of help from China, so NK would not face political and economic difficulties at home and isolation internationally.
South Korean media reported that on May 20, Kim Jong Il arrived in Yanbian Jilin by train, via Mudanjiang and Changchun. He visited he Changchun First Automobile on May 21. It is learned that this company would invest in NK.
Chinese Premier Wen Jiabao told Lee Myung-bak, South Korean President on May 22 in Tokyo, that the purpose of Kim's visit is to understand China's development and thus gain a reference.
After a 29-hour train ride, Kim Jong Il arrived at Yangzhou, Jiangsu. Kim visited a supermarket and a solar technology company. On May 24, he arrived at Nanking and visited the Panda Electronics, Olympic Stadium and the World Museum. In the afternoon, he went to Beijing and talked with Chinese leaders.
North Korea lacks energy, food and essential raw materials and also suffers under the United Nations' sanction due to its nuclear program. Voice of America pointed out on May 23, that China was concerned with NK's refugees rush if NK would collapse due to economic catastrophe.
The South Korean presidential spokesman referred to Kim's visit as "an educational trip.” Analysts in Japan said that Kim's China visit was an embarrassing request for assistance from China to solve food shortage crisis in NK.
Wang Weizheng, a Professor of Political Science, at the University of Richmond: "N. Korea is probably facing economy hardships. Although a few years ago it voiced out that it wants to imitate China's reform and opening up policies. I think he wants to learn something from China."
According to Yonhap, in South Korea was held a "Seminar on food aid to North Korea.”. Claudia von Roehl from the World Food Program said on behalf of North Korea that due to reduction of food production and international assistance, 6 million Koreans will suffer from food shortages.
Robert King, U.S. State Department's NK human rights envoy, visited NK on May 24, to assess the situation of food shortages there and also to raise the issue with NKs' human rights. Based on the assessment, Korea and the U.S. will decide if food aid programs can restart in NK.
Due to the Cheonan and Yin Ping Island incidents last year Korea and the U.S. completely cut off aids to North Korea. Under this situation, Chosun Ilbo of South Korea reported that Kim's brother-in-law
Jang visited Jilin Province in May and signed a lease of the “Golden Plain” at the downstream of Yalu River to China for 100 years.
Su Zhan (Economics' Professor, University of Laval, Canada): setting up special administrative regions but it needed an institutional reform. NK is facing two major political issues today, one is the tension in East Asia, in particular a series of moves by NK, the other is a question of its inheritance.”
Yonhap reported that in 2009 North Korea amended the constitution and the word “communism” was replaced by "military-first ideology." Last September, Kim Jong Il extended the hereditary dictatorship further and established 27-year-old Kim Zhengen (his third son) as his heir.
And Japan's Yomiuri Shimbun reported: “After being confirmed as the heir, Kim Zhengen frequently published his remarks about economy such as 'In the past, we could tolerate no food, but not without bullets, now we can tolerate no bullets but not without food'. He also said: 'All civilians will have rice and meat
within three years'.”
Chinese Premier Wen Jiabao stressed at the summit on May 22, that through dialogues tensions between
North and South Korea could be eased, but he too is opposing a nuclear North Korea.
The Korean nuclear issue was raised again during the US-China summit early this year. Then leaders from US, Japan and Korea agreed, that denuclearization of the Korean peninsula will greatly promote peace and stability in Northeast Asia. An outsider pointed out that North Korea's nuclear program is actually a scheme between China and North Korea to blackmail the international community.

Why Jiang Zemin Persecute Falun Gong? (W/ English Sub)
(VIDEO IN CHINESE, WITH ENGLISH SUBTITLES)
Why Jiang Zemin Persecute Falun Gong?
Today, I am going to tell you a story. It is about Modern Snow White. The story is similar to Snow White, but it happens today. That is why it is called 'Modern Snow White'.
And the story happens in China today. Ok, let's hear about the Modern Snow White story.
In China, there is a tyrant named Jiang Zemin. He rose to power in China through endless scheming and plotting. Finally, he attained the power that he always coveted.
Jiang had a Magic Mirror that would answer the questions dearest to his heart. One day, fearfully thinking about anyone that might take away his power, he asked the mirror, "Oh Magic Mirror, who has the heart of the Chinese people?" The Magic Mirror answered, "Falun Gong."
Jiang was shocked, "Falun Gong? Never heard of it!" He was deflated, and even though everyone knew that Falun Gong teaches people to be good and kind, he didn't believe it and was stricken with fear and paranoia -- he told the high-level officials secretly: "We must stamp out Falun Gong!"
The local officials knew that Falun Gong improves people's health, raises their morality, stabilizes society, and even saves the country so much on medical bills. So they just paid Jiang some lip service and didn't really plan on giving practitioners a hard time.
"Oh Magic Mirror, who has the heart of the Chinese people?" The Magic Mirror gave the same answer, "Falun Gong." Jiang was furious: "So they won't comply huh? Then I'll just have to go all out, right in the open, then we'll see if they dare to defy me!"
So he forced all the government organizations to slander and denounce Falun Gong, using radio, TV, and newspapers to lie endlessly. He even tried to get Interpol to arrest the founder of Falun Gong.
Of course, nobody in other countries listened to him. In fact, more and more people outside China started to practice Falun Gong.
The tyrant thought he had won, "Falun Gong will undoubtedly go away, and the hearts of the Chinese people will be all mine!" So he asked the Magic Mirror again, "Oh Magic Mirror, who has the heart of the Chinese people?" The Magic Mirror replied, "Yes, many people were fooled by you, but so many practitioners are going to Beijing, I'm afraid your lies are going to be exposed soon..."
Jiang was petrified. Even though he'd fooled the public for now, he wasn't anywhere close to destroying Falun Gong like he thought he could. He was deathly afraid of his lies being exposed and what would happen to his precious power. Realizing that he'd painted himself into a corner, Jiang lost what little rationality he had left and went into a frenzy.
Jiang: "I'll fight to the bitter end!"
He mobilized everything imaginable: the media, the army, the police, spies, and poured enormous amounts of resources in persecuting Falun Gong. The result was an unprecedented evil wave of terror that swept up everyone in its path.
"OK, everyone charge! Radio, TV, newspapers, military police, public security bureaus, special agents, everyone!"
Jiang even revived a vile scheme dating back to the dynasties, implicating everyone associated with a practitioner. Family members are subjected to imprisonment and fines, while even work unit supervisors, residential committee members and local public security officers are fired and prevented from working at state enterprises if Falun Gong practitioners in their areas go to appeal.
Jiang Zemin encourage the police to do their worst against Falun Gong, and even if they beat the Falun Gong practitioners to death, they can just count it as suicide!
Countless practitioners were imprisoned, sentenced to forced labor camps without trial, and even sent to mental hospitals.
Besides his endless propaganda in China, Jiang went all over the world to slander Falun Gong, making a spectacle of himself.
While Jiang spews gibberish in front of world leaders everywhere, bystanders are wondering how the leader of a great country can act so shamelessly.
Ignoring Jiang's lies, more and more people around the world began to practice Falun Gong and follow the principles of Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance. Teacher Li was even nominated for the Nobel Peace Prize. Meanwhile, Jiang was exposed for the paranoid tyrant that he is.
After exhausting himself in trying in vain to destroy Falun Gong, Jiang asked the Magic Mirror, "What's the situation now?" The Mirror replied, "Your lies were all foiled, and people all over the world are welcoming Falun Gong. They all know that you're an evil dictator."
Remember that only by know the TRUTH can we differentiate good from evil.
In the end, everyone realized that good will always triumph over evil.
In the end, everyone realized that in the end, good will always triumph over evil.

Heavy Metal Contaminates Hunan's Crop Land (W/ Eng Sub)

Heavy Metal Contaminates Hunan's Crop Land
The life-giving waters and mineral deposits of the Xiang River in Hunan Province, were gifts from heaven. But now they threaten the very lives and the land of the local residents. Huge tracks of land in Hunan,
China's largest rice producer province, are fast becoming permanently unproductive lands, as the result of various forms of pollution. According to an insider, it's difficult to solve China's pollution problem due to the collaboration between officials and businesses.
Hunan's "Mother River," it is now among China's most polluted bodies of water, due to the fact that mining and industrial facilities continue to illegally discharge their industrial waste and heavy metal pollutants directly into the river. Xiang's water, in turn contaminates the surrounding arable lands, making them permanently unproductive. This is exactly the case in Jiangshui Village, Jiangshui Town, in Yizhang County.
Huang Yuanxun, a resident of Jiangshui Village said: "When the water beneath the mines, which carries heavy metals, flows onto the land, it"hardens" the soil making it unproductive. Crops don't grow well or they turn yellow and die."
According to an insider whose village produces iron ore, water discharged from the mines has destroyed the surrounding croplands. Villagers were punished for appealing to the government. About 500-600 villagers
are forced to work in the iron mines, because their lands no longer yield any crops.
Mr. Zhao, a villager, said: "Residents protested last year because of the various pollutions and the fact
that the mine collapsed, but instead of being happy to address the villager's complaints, government
personnel forcibly arrested and beat the villagers, leaving the problem unsolved. Since most water sources are mainly used for drinking purposes, the water shortage we now face makes our situation even worse."
Mr. Cao, from Chishi Town in Yizhang County, told Sound of Hope Radio, that their village has the same problem. The local mines have polluted the town's water supply, which in turn ruined their land. Due to the collaboration between officials and businesses, this problem cannot be solved.
Mr. Cao said: "The local authorities reap huge profits, especially the secretary of the district politics and law
committee. He and his relatives, who own the majority of stock in the various local mine industries, are always trying to protect the interests of their industries."
Accidents caused by heavy metal pollution happen all the time in Hunan. In 2004, two middle-aged villagers in Changsha City died due to high levels of cadmium in their bodies. In 2006, a urine test of 500 residents who drank Xiang's water in Xiangtan City showed: 30 percent had excessive cadmium levels in their body while 10 percent needed to receive special medical treatment, according to national occupational disease management standards. In July 2009, due to presence of heavy metal in the drinking water and the soil, some villagers in Liuyang City died of cadmium poisoning. Over 1,000 villagers protested outside of the county municipal building.
Staff from China's Environmental Protection Bureau said that the heavy metal levels in some sections of
the Xiang River, is hundreds of times greater than the national safety limit. In vegetable samples obtained from Qingshuitang, in Zhuzhou City, environmentalists found the level of cadmium to be 65 times higher than the national limit, while mercury was 186 times, and lead was 66 times.
Chen Faqing, praised as "China's Don Quijote" by Germany's Die Welt, has worked over 10 years'
in China's environmental protection sector. Last December, Chen pointed out that China's overall environment was getting increasingly polluted. He also sited that the criminal collaboration between officials and those businesses that have grossly polluted the environment, was the main reason. Many officials own
these same companies that pollute the environment
Besides Hunan, some areas in Jiangxi, Yunnan, and Guangxi Province in Southern China, are also facing
heavy metal contamination. The soil in Guangdong's Pearl River Delta contains excessive heavy metals and nearly 50 percent of the studied areas contain toxic levels of lead. Experts say that heavy metals such as lead, can remain in the environment for several decades, and in soil for 100 years.
According to New Century Weekly, many experts believe that, in the future, heavy metals will overtake farm chemicals as the number one pollutant and greatest source of industrial accidents in China.

Get Marxism Out of China Schools (W/ English Subtitles)

Get Marxism Out of China Schools
East China University of Political Science Professor Zhang Xuezhong recently sent a letter to call on the Minister of Education Yuan Guiren to cancel the "Politics" subject in the College and the Graduate entrance examination, and to remove the "Marxist Philosophy" courses from the general Required Curriculum.
Though this open letter was quickly deleted online, it provoked rather big reaction among netizens.
On May 13, Prof. Zhang Xuezhong posted the letter, which was about ten thousand words long.
He points out that inculcating Marxism-Leninism by force not only violates citizens' freedom of speech and freedom of belief , but also "extremely distorted the Chinese character, generation after generation, killed their conscience, belittled their dignity". Thus the whole nation will become ignorant, and will lose the courage to pursue truth.
Zhang Xuezhong believes that Dept. of Education is distorting students' personality, destroying their conscience by forcing them to participate in Marxism-Leninism political study and exams.
Thus the authorities have committed the most serious crime against their country.
He also pointed out that this forced political exam "violated Article 35 of the Chinese Constitution".
With this compelling and harming people's mind and freedom of speech with deprivation of educational opportunities, the authorities certainly don't want to nurture people's rationality, "but to satisfy own ambition and lust for power".
His letter was initially published on the Sina blog but it has been quickly deleted. However, a large number of enthusiastic netizens forwarded the letter, agreeing: "We do need faith, but not from a partisan indoctrination.
We need to see it with our own eyes, judge it and select it with our hearts."
Earlier, the published by aboluwang.com article "Karl Marx's road of becoming Satan",triggered a strong response by people from all walks of life. Referencing Marx's original text, the article reveals how Marx degenerated from a Christian to a devoted Satanist.
David Lee (special editor, New Era Weekly): "Marx's extravagant college life made him crave liberation of individual's desires from all Orthodox restrictions. The spread of Satanism in Europe adapted this wish."
Marx wrote in college a play called "Oulanem", in which he confessed that his "magic change" has become the voice of Satan.
David Lee: "He said: 'The hellish vapors rise and fill the brain, till I go mad and my heart
is utterly changed. See this sword? Prince of darkness sold it to me, for me he beats the time and gives the signs, ever more boldly I play the dance of death.' This poem shows more clearly Marx' admittance that he signed a contract with Satan."
Librarian in Congress Library, James H. Billington's study found that Communist Party (CP) originates from a secret gang organization in Germany, called "Bavarian Order of the Illuminati", and Marx was selected to organize and publish their program, the "Communist Manifesto".
David Lee: "In fact, Marx hated all gods, and could not hear God. His socialism was only to lure the proletariat and the intellectuals, in order to realize the trap of Satan."
Billington found that the Communist Party's saying "absolute to the organization, never betray the Party"
were the regulations followed by the Bavarian Order of the Illuminati, which logo was wolf in a sheep's skin.
Heng He (political commentator): "This discloses an unpopular truth that Marx himself was not atheist.
Like the senior officials of CCP (Chinese CP), they too are not real atheists, including Mao,
in fact they believe in the existence of God, but chose the devil's side and fight against God."
Zhang Xuezhong, a JD from Yugan county, Jiangxi, is currently a Professor of Civil Law, Master Instructor and Deputy Director in East China University of Political Science. He is also a columnist at Singapore's "United Morning News," and writes regular sharp commentary articles.
