(Minghui.org) Practitioner Ms. Tang Deheng is an employee of the Education Bureau in Guangde County, Anhui Province. During the past thirteen years, her home has been raided seven times by the Guangde County 610 Office, Domestic Security Team Police, and Chinese Communist Party (CCP) personnel. She was sentenced to forced labor three times, held for criminal detention twice, and sentenced to prison once. Altogether she has been imprisoned for seven years and three months. She has now become homeless and destitute.
Recently, Xuancheng City Domestic Security Team police officer Wang Zhaode, Guangde County CCP Politics and Law Committee Party Secretary Li Jun, and 610 Office Head Chen Hui have been pursuing Tang Deheng. On February 2, 2012 at about 8:00 p.m., Wang Zhaode led a group of police officers to drive to Guangde County and try to secretly arrest Tang Deheng. With Li Jun, Chen Hui, Zhu Zhihong, and Yang Xuezhong’s coordination, Wang Zhaode pretended to be Tang Deheng’s classmate Mei Shengyi from Xuancheng City and called to find Tang Deheng. He claimed he just arrived in Guangde and wished to see his classmate. When Wang Zhaode could not get Tang Deheng’s whereabouts, they drove the police vehicle directly to Tang Deheng’s home. All the other police and CCP personnel hid downstairs, and he went alone upstairs to knock on Tang Deheng’s door. He knocked loudly for a long time. All the neighbors heard it. On February 22, after 7:00 a.m., police officers Zhu Zhihong and Yang Xuezhong from the Guangde County Domestic Security Team and many officers from the Taozhou Police Station knocked on the door of Tang Deheng’s home, under 610 Office Official Chen Hui’s direction. Tang Deheng’s son opened the door. The police crowded into the room and searched around. When they found that Tang Deheng was not at home, they threatened Tang Deheng’s son and told him to bring his mother to the police department. Otherwise they would do something bad to him.
Tang Deheng’s parents and son have been constantly harassed and persecuted by Li Jun, Chen Hui, Zhu Zhihong, Yang Xuezhong, Wang Zhaode, and other CCP personnel.
1. Fortunate to Obtain the Fa, Bringing the Greatness of Dafa to Others
Tang Deheng was born in February 1958. She had a happy family and her son was smart and lovely. Both she and her husband were government officials.
In May 1997, Tang Deheng started cultivating Falun Gong. She had always been a kind person, and was deeply touched by the guiding principles of Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance outlined in Zhuan Falun. She thought there was nothing better than Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance in this world. She eagerly studied the Fa and practiced the exercises. During her everyday life and work, she used Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance as the principle of her actions to be a truly good person.
After she obtained the Fa, her outlook on the world and life, as well as her values, changed dramatically. She realized the true meaning of life. After cultivating the Fa, Tang Deheng truly experienced the greatness that Dafa brought to people. Cultivating Falun Dafa benefits both the cultivator, and those around him or her. Falun Dafa benefits society and does no harm at all. After cultivating the Fa, Tang Deheng’s body and mind were purified and she had a healthy body. She also introduced the greatness of Dafa to her friends, family, classmates, colleagues, and leaders. No matter where she went, she brought the greatness of Dafa to others and showed mercy to others.
2. Good and Evil Reversed, Arrested and Detained while Appealing for Dafa
On the morning of July 22, 1999, after Tang Deheng finished practicing the exercises at the Fuzi Temple in Guangde County, she went back home and then went to work. At 9:00 a.m., the County Education Bureau held an emergency meeting and announced the CCP decision to ban Falun Gong to all government officials. After that, Tang Deheng lost her personal freedom. Officials from all levels of government, including the county government leaders and the Education Bureau CCP Party Branch, put pressure on her to give up cultivating Falun Gong. The leaders also clearly conveyed the upper level authority’s order that Communist Party members were not allowed to practice Falun Gong.
At that time, Tang Deheng had to face endless dialogues with government officials during work. The police department also gave orders to her family members to monitor her after work. Tang Deheng’s husband had to report to the leaders about her situation. The overwhelming evil propaganda reversed good and evil. Tang Deheng always clarified the truth of Falun Gong to the people who were sent to talk to her and told them about the greatness of Falun Dafa.
Tang Deheng firmly believed that Falun Gong was right, and that believing in Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance was right. The freedom of belief is a basic human right bestowed by heaven, and telling the truth is the nature of human beings. She was faithful to the country and the government, and broke through layers of blockades and monitoring to appeal for Dafa in Beijing. The first time she went to Beijing to appeal, she was arrested, detained for a month, and fined 3,000 yuan.
On December 16, 1999, Tang Deheng listed all the things she was working on and also wrote a report withdrawing from the CCP. She put them together with the key of the office desk in the drawer. She decided to go to Beijing to appeal for Dafa. After getting through layers of blockades, she and nine other practitioners got on the train to Beijing to appeal for Falun Gong. At the West Station of Beijing, they were arrested by the railway police. They were searched and insulted. Then they were locked inside an iron cage in the railway police station.
It was very cold in Beijing in December 1999. Tang Deheng and other practitioners were locked inside a dirty iron cage of less than ten square meters. At the corner of the cage there was a toilet for both men and women to use. In the middle of the cage there was a long bench with the wood already rotted away and the iron frame exposed. The floor was full of discarded tattered clothes, broken grass mats, and spit. There was only one vent on the ceiling and one small window on the wall for sending in food and calling out names. Over 20 people were locked inside this cage, including the practitioners, drug addicts, train ticket scalpers, prostitutes, and thieves.
While inside the cage, Tang Deheng and the other nine practitioners were treated inhumanly. They were not provided food or water for 24 hours. At midnight, a drug addict suddenly started yelling due to his addiction. The officer on duty got angry and turned on the vent to send cold air into the cage for over three hours.
After being detained for 24 hours, Tang Deheng and the other practitioners were brought to the seventeenth floor of the Anhui Province Beijing Office by the police from that office. Two days later, Political Protection Section head Wang Tinghong from Guangde County flew to Beijing with several police officers. They handcuffed the ten practitioners together and escorted them back to Guangde County. The practitioners were detained, interrogated, and persecuted. Meanwhile, Wang Tinghong led police to ransack their homes. The police forcibly took away their Dafa books and other personal belongings. Meanwhile, they fined the practitioners’ families three thousand yuan per person.
Ms. Tang was detained at the Guangde County Detention Center for one month. After her office and family guaranteed and paid a 3,000 yuan fine, she was released. When she returned home, she saw that her home was a mess after being ransacked by Wang Tinghong. Even the back cushions of the couch were torn off. Her family members suffered mental anguish.
Tang Deheng’s employer failed the so-called “comprehensive management” since they did not prevent Ms. Tang from appealing for Falun Gong in Beijing. The leaders’ award for excellence for that year was canceled and they had to write multiple letters of self-criticism to the higher authorities. They thus put a lot of pressure on Tang Deheng and caused her much difficulty. Tang Deheng’s situation got harder and harder.
Ms. Tang’s nephew had to pass the “political examination” when he applied to join the army, but Wang Tinghong marked him as “disqualified” because his aunt practiced Falun Gong. Wang Tinghong intended to use this to provoke and incite Tang Deheng’s relatives’ hatred of her.
3. Sentenced to Forced Labor Three Times and Subjected to Brutal Persecution
In early March 2000, Guangde County CCP Politics and Law Committee Party secretary Gan Ruyi, police department chief Liu Ping, and Political Protection Section head Wang Tinghong hosted a ten day brainwashing session in the meeting room at the Guangde County Police Department. All practitioners employed in Guangde were forced to attend the brainwashing session. Their employers sent them to the police department every morning and picked them up before the end of work. Then they were sent back to their families after work. This costly activity was abandoned before the ten days were over.
On March 19, 2000, Tang Deheng and three other practitioners again went to Beijing to appeal for Dafa. As soon as they arrived at Tiananmen Square in Beijing, they were arrested by police who were waiting there. The police pushed them into police vehicles and took them to the Qianmen Police Station.
When Political Protection Section head Wang Tinghong from Guangde County heard that Tang Deheng had gone to Beijing to appeal again, he contacted the police at the Anhui Province office in Beijing and asked them not to list Tang Deheng and other practitioners’ names in the report. He told them he would fly to Beijing and bring the practitioners back. At that time, the CCP measured officials political achievements by how well they prevented Falun Gong practitioners from appealing, and Wang Tinghong was concerned because many practitioners had gone to Beijing to appeal.
Soon after Tang Deheng and other practitioners were sent to the Qianmen Police Station, the Anhui Province Beijing office police took them to their office building. One officer hit Tang Deheng on the back, causing her to stagger forward a few steps. Then the policeman pulled the scarf around Tang Deheng’s neck tight and said, “I really want to strangle you to death. I knew you went to Beijing again.” The next day, Wang Tinghong bribed the two police officers with a few packs of cigarettes and brought Tang Deheng and the other three practitioners to a hotel. In the hotel, the practitioners saw practitioner Zhang from Guangde County (male, early twenties) standing there with his hands cuffed behind his back. They didn’t know how long he had been standing there like that.
After the four practitioners were sent back to the Guangde County Police Department, Guangde Police Department chief Liu Ping personally escorted Tang Deheng and another practitioner, Peng Dianmei, to the Xuancheng City Detention Center to detain and persecute them.
During the detention, Ms. Tang received two official documents from the government office where she worked. One was to expel her from the CCP and notify the entire county. The other was to punish her with administrative demerits. At the same time, Tang Deheng and another practitioner, Peng Dianmei, were sentenced to one year of forced labor. In late April 2000, Politics and Law Committee Party secretary Gan Ruyi, Political Protection Section head of the police department Wang Tinghong, and female police officer Chen Qing forcibly sent Tang Deheng and Peng Dianmei to the Anhui Province Women’s Forced Labor Camp for persecution.
After Ms. Tang was released from Anhui Province Women’s Forced Labor Camp, she still firmly cultivated Falun Dafa. On October 2, 2001, Tang Deheng and her father rode bicycles to visit her brother. When they passed the west gate, the new head of the Guangde County Political Protection Section, Wu Tianxing, (later he was promoted to captain of the Domestic Security Team) and many other police officers stopped them with police vehicles. Tang Deheng was forcibly arrested.
Ms. Tang was taken to a small room inside the Domestic Security Team office in Guangde County. Officer Yang Xuezhong monitored her. Then Wu Tianxing and many officers from the Taozhou Police Station in Guangde County divided into two groups and ransacked Tang’s home and office. Wu Tianxing didn’t get anything he could use to frame Ms. Tang, so he went back to the police department angrily. Tang Deheng questioned Wu Tianxing whey he arrested her. Wu said, “Because you practice Falun Gong.” Tang Deheng said, “You police don’t arrest the bad people. You only arrest the good people who follow the principles of Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance.” Wu Tianxing answered, “You’re right. If you did bad things such as drinking and gambling, I really would not arrest you. Do you want to be a good person? Let me help you.” Then he forcibly dragged Tang Deheng to the police vehicle and took her to the Guangde County Detention Center.
When they arrived at the detention center, Tang Deheng questioned Wu Tianxing, “You cannot detain me without evidence. It is illegal.” Wu Tianxing said, “I’ll detain you first and then find the evidence. What can you do?”
Ms. Tang went on a nine-day hunger strike to protest the persecution at the detention center. Twenty days later, at 4:00 a.m., Wu Tianxing, Wang Wuhong, and Chen Qing took Tang Deheng to the Anhui Province Women’s Forced Labor Camp to serve a two-years term. Three other practitioners were also sentenced and sent to the forced labor camp with her, including Peng Dianmei (two years forced labor), Le Xiangyun (two years), and Liu (one year).
In late 2003, Tang Deheng finished her term and returned home. She started writing letters to the Guangde County CCP Party Committee, Guangde County Government, and Judicial Departments to tell them the greatness of Falun Dafa and expose the truth about her persecution, to help eliminate the evils’ poison, let them clearly see the truth and the evil of the persecution, and give them the opportunity to choose justice and conscience in order to be saved.
On August 16, 2004, Wu Tianxing received instruction from Tan Yunxiu, the deputy Party secretary of Guangde County, requiring Wu Tianxing to close the (truth-clarifying letter) case within 40 days. The Guangde County CCP Politics and Law Committee, head of the 610 Office Fang (cell phone number +86-13956599335) and Domestic Security Team Captain Wu Tianxing (cell: +86-13905637760) immediately decided to arrest Tang Deheng.
On the morning of August 17, Tang Deheng was arrested at work by police from Guangde County Domestic Security Team, including Wang Wuhong (cell: +86-13805632702), Yang Xuezhong (cell: +86-13856386111) and many others. The police again ransacked Tang’s home and office. At the same time, Wu Tianxing brought Tang Deheng’s 16-year-old son from school to the police department to interrogate and threaten him. Wu forced Tang Deheng’s son to tell what his mother did every day at home. In the end, Wu notified Tang Deheng’s brother to come to the police department to bail the child out. Tang Deheng’s brother was very angry about Wu Tianxing’s actions. He questioned him, “How can you treat a 16-year-old child like this? Do you want to destroy the child?” Wu Tianxing could not say a word and had to let the child go home.
Nineteen days after arresting Ms. Tang, the police finished all the paperwork for forced labor sentencing. This time Tang Deheng was sentenced to three years forced labor. Tang’s family members finished all the paperwork for release on bail and waited for the police to release Tang Deheng. Tang had been detained at the Guangde County Detention Center for four months. Wu Tianxing saw that Ms. Tang’s family had not sent the money to him. He got angry and secretly asked police officers Wang Wuhong and Chen Qing to take Tang to the Anhui Province Women’s Forced Labor Camp for persecution in December 2004. A few days later, when Tang Deheng’s parents went to the detention center to visit her, they found out their daughter had already been transferred to the forced labor camp.
At the Anhui Province Women’s Forced Labor Camp, Tang Deheng did not cooperate with the police. She maintained her righteous thoughts and righteous actions, and refused to be “transformed.” Police officer Chen Xiaolin and others brutally persecuted Tang Deheng using very evil methods. They also extended her term by four months. On December 1, 2007, Tang Deheng was released after being imprisoned and detained for three years and four months.
4. Sentenced to Labor Camp
Ms. Tang Deheng has been sent to labor camp three times, serving a total of six years and four months. Hu Tianxing manipulated the system and sentenced Ms. Tang twice to labor camp, for a total duration of five years and four months. Her former happy family was broken during the persecution. The last sentence was three years in a labor camp. She was suspended for five years, and was held in the Guangde County Detention Center for nine months.
On March 29, 2010, Ms. Tang was at work when she was arrested by Guangde County Domestic Security Department police officers Wang Wuhong, Yang Xuezhong, two policewomen Wang Yan and Xi Shan, and two riot policemen, and taken to a private hotel basement where she was mistreated.
Their reason for her arrest was that her workplace Discipline Committee director Liu Dewang, who was also 610 Office director (cell: +86-13083122938) reported Ms. Tang to Guangde County 610 director Chen Hui (cell: +86-13956577858) and Domestic Security director Wang Wuhong. He reported that Ms. Tang was promoting Falun Gong during work in 2009.
Wang Wuhong, Yang Xuezhang, and a police officer (cell: 86-13805632161) from Taozhou Police Station raided Ms. Tang Deheng’s home and her office. They took her personal belongings, including a computer, printer, cell phone, mp3 player, tablet computer, and Master’s picture, books and DVD, altogether valued at over twenty thousand yuan. Her property was once again looted by Yang Xuezhong and other thugs.
Following instructions from Political Judiciary Committee director Li Jun and 610 Office director Chen Hui, Domestic Security director Wang Wuhong instigated Yang Xuezhong to issue a lawsuit against Ms. Tang at the localProcuratorate bureau and ask for quick and heavy punishment. The prosecutor from the Procuratorate was Luo Jun, and the Judge was Zhang Jun.
Before the trial, the Guangde County Court appointed a lawyer to be Ms. Tang’s defense counsel. Ms. Tang met the lawyer and asked, “If you can plead not guilty and defend me in the court, I will hire you.” The lawyer was so scared that he turned around and left. Judge Zhang Jun and a clerk came to question Ms. Tang, “Why did you reject the lawyer?” Ms. Tang replied, “Because he wouldn’t plead not guilty for me.” They wanted her to sign the documentation for refusing defense counsel. She stated, “I will defend myself in court.”
On the day of the hearing, two court marshals came, one male and one female. The male took out the handcuffs and asked Ms. Tang, “Where is your prison uniform?” The guard from the detention center replied, “She never wore a uniform here.” Ms. Tang told the court marshals, “I did not commit any crime, so you should not handcuff me.” The male court marshal resorted to violence. At this time, the guard from the detention center asked Ms. Tang, “Will you cooperate? This is part of his job.” She was forcibly handcuffed and taken away.
In court, Ms. Tang raised her hands in the air and shouted at the head of the 610 Office, Chen Hui, who was sitting in the last row, “Look at these handcuffs! You are committing a crime!” The female court marshal quickly sat her down again. Chen Hui asked Judge Zhang Jun to walk out with him. After a while, Zhang Jun gave the order to open Ms. Tang’s handcuffs. Domestic Security Police officer He Xiaobai and others were sitting in the first row, and seven or eight court marshals were bustling about.
Only four of her family members attended, including her parents, her brother, and her son. Tang Deheng defended herself in the court, pleading not guilty. In the end, the judge asked her what else she wanted to say, she said, “Let me read you ‘Seek the truth’ as my conclusion.”
After the hearing, the two court marshals took her back to the detention center without handcuffs. The male court marshal told the guard in the detention center, “She articulated very well. I tried hard but could not remember.” Ms. Tang smiled and said, “I will reiterate for you. Cultivating Falun Gong is not a crime! Clarifying the truth is not a crime! Having a belief is not a crime!
Both heaven and earth are vast,
Which direction do the world’s people go?
Lost, they don’t know the way,
The truth is the compass.
Rich or poor, all the same,
Nowhere to hide when calamity strikes,
The net is left open on one side–
Quickly seek the truth!
Which direction do the world’s people go?
Lost, they don’t know the way,
The truth is the compass.
Rich or poor, all the same,
Nowhere to hide when calamity strikes,
The net is left open on one side–
Quickly seek the truth!
To know the truth is the hope of salvation! You will be blessed for treating Dafa practitioners kindly!” The guard smiled, “Aren’t you promoting Falun Gong?” Ms. Tang replied, “Yes, Falun Gong is really great!”
Ms. Tang was sentenced to three years and five years suspended. The 610 Office director Chen Hui refused to let her go after she was held for over nine months in the detention center. She was finally released on December 13, 2011.
5. Forced to Leave Home
On December 26, 2011, Ms. Tang was forced to leave home. After she was released, Guangde County 610 Office director Chen Hui harassed her at her home several times, and ordered her to write a monthly report to him, but Ms. Tang refused. Chen added pressure at her workplace, asking her employers not to arrange her work, stop her salary, and only give her three hundred yuan per month. Also, Wang Wuhong and Yang Xuezhong recorded her phone calls and monitored her coming and going. They prepared to take her to jail at anytime.
On November 15, 2011 in the afternoon, under the instruction of Guangde County Political Judiciary Committee director Li Jun, 610 Office director Chen Hui, the newly appointed Domestic Security director, Zhu Zhihong, deputy director Yang Xuezhong pretended they were from the water company, deceived Tang’s family into opening the door, and attempted to arrest Ms. Tang. They took away many personal items, including a computer, printer, Falun Gong books, Master’s picture, printing paper, and blank DVDs. The total value was over ten thousand yuan. This was the fifth time Yang Xuezhong had raided her home.
Ms. Tang Deheng was again arrested by Yang Xuezhong and Xi Shan, and taken to a private hotel basement for interrogation. After police officer Wang Zhaode (cell: +86-13866957599), and Yang Xuezhong investigated and collected evidence, they found that the so-called Falun Gong case had nothing to do with Ms. Tang. After 27 days in detention, she was released.
At the time, the truth clarification materials were everywhere in Guangde County. The CCP attempted to jail Ms. Tang, yet they did not have good reasons. Li Jun from the Political Judiciary Committee and Chen Hui from the 610 Office ordered Zhu Zhihong and Yang Xuezhong from the Domestic Security Bureau to manipulate the system, and indict Ms. Tang because she continued practicing Falun Gong, and wanted to put her in jail.
On December 26, 2011, only 13 days after she was released, she received a call ordering her to return to jail. Thus she was forced to leave home.
Six months have passed, and the authorities have never stopped harassing her parents and her son. On May 11, 2012, her father and son were ordered to report to the Guangde County Domestic Security Department. Zhu Zhihong and Yang Xuezhong told them that if Tang Deheng doesn’t come, they will fine her son 15 to 30 thousand yuan and suspend him from work.
