Hong Kongers Say No to the Chinese Communist Party

Has the “One Country, Two System” principle worked for Hong Kong over the past 15 years? How has Hong Kong faired under Chinese rule and why did 400,000 people take to the streets on Sunday July 1?
Sunday saw a massive outpour of anger in Hong Kong towards the encroachment of Chinese regime rule. The former British colony was promised separate governance from the mainland, but Hong Kong people have become increasingly concerned about the Chinese Communist Party meddling in their affairs.
After being the economic gateway for China’s economic development, what role should Hong Kong now play for both the region and the rest of the mainland?
