In 2006 allegations started that the Chinese regime has been systematically taking organs from living Falun Gong practitioners. The regime has been persecuting the meditation group for 13 years.
On Thursday, Falun Gong supporters called against organ harvesting at rally in Washington DC.
[Dan Fefferman, Executive Director, International Coalition for Religious Freedom]:
“Take out their body parts and organs, and use them for research, even without the permission of those who died. What a horrible, disgusting crime.”

A US rights group against forced organ harvesting says more surgeons around the world are becoming aware of unlawful organ trade in China.

[Dana Churchill, Spokesman, Doctors Against Forced Organ Harvesting]:
“This is the fourth book in the series we’ve been doing. This book has information from four continents from around the world, and it has many surgeons who are standing up. Because they have patients who are telling them, ‘I’m going to go to China and get an organ in two weeks.’”

Several reports on organ harvesting from Falun Gong practitioners and other groups, like the Uyghur minority group, have been published. At the rally supporting Falun Gong, the Spokesman of Doctors Against Forced Organ Harvesting, Dana Churchill said the US government should take a stand.

[Dana Churchill, Spokesman, Doctors Against Forced Organ Harvesting]
“That’s what we’re hoping for, turning it into a resolution. Spelling out exactly what the Communist Party has been doing in that resolution, print it by our government, you know the United States government stamp to say that we stand behind [Falun Gong] and you need to stop [organ harvesting].”

The US State Department mentioned for the first time in its latest human rights report on China, that the Chinese regime has been accused of forcibly taking organs from Falun Gong practitioners and Uyghur Muslims for organ trade.

China’s organ transplant numbers are second only to the United States. Unlike any other country, virtually all Chinese organs for transplants come from prisoners. Many of these are prisoners of conscience. The killing of prisoners for their organs is a plain breach of the most basic medical ethics. State Organs explores the involvement of Chinese state institutions in this abuse. The book brings together authors from four continents who share their views and insights on the ways to combat these violations. State Organs aims to inform the reader and hopes to influence change in China to end the abuse.
