Crimes Committed in Women’s Forced Labor Camps in Beijing and Inner Mongolia Include Monthly Blood Draws
December 17, 2012 | By a Minghui correspondent in Beijing, China
(Minghui.org) Several dozen Falun Gong practitioners who were illegally arrested in late 2011 were sent to Daxing Women’s Forced Labor Camp in Beijing. The labor camp guards laced their food with drugs and drew their blood monthly. Among them were 25 practitioners who were non-Beijing registered permanent residents. They were later transferred to the Tumuji Forced Labor Camp in Inner Mongolia, where they were often shocked and beaten with electric batons and had their blood drawn every month. The camp authorities claimed it was for a “physical check-up.” But why were blood samples being taken and physical examinations being done every month? What are the forced labor camp officials covering up?
Monthly Blood Draws in Daxing Women’s Forced Labor Camp in Beijing
Beijing 610 Office agents along with officers from police stations of several districts and counties arrested dozens of Falun Gong practitioners in late 2011. The practitioners were given forced labor terms from two years to two and a half years, and transferred to the Daxing Women’s Forced Labor Camp in Beijing.
While they were incarcerated at the labor camp, as a form of torture the practitioners were made to sit on small wooden stools for more than 10 hours every day, and they were given only a few mouthfuls of vegetable soup and small steamed buns to eat. After several months, the practitioners’ weight dropped by several dozen jin. They were also subjected to a variety of physical tortures and mental torment.
Guards in Division No.1 laced vegetable soup with ecstasy (hallucinogenic drug) in front of the practitioners, and forced those they believed to be “ill” to take it. Some practitioners who ate ecstasy-laced vegetable soup were unable to stand up and could only crawl on the ground. Moreover, another thing that no one understands, is why each month a large tube of blood was drawn from every illegally detained Falun Gong practitioner. The guards all claimed that it was for their regular physical check-up. But was it necessary to have a physical examination every month? Why were so many blood samples being taken? Were the camp officials selling the practitioners’ healthy blood or simply draining them of their blood?
Twenty-five Practitioners Transferred and Detained in Inner Mongolia Continue to Be Tortured and Have Their Blood Drawn
Twenty-five practitioners who are non-Beijing registered permanent residents were placed on a big truck on the evening of June 21, 2012. They were sent to Tumuji Forced Labor Camp in Zhalaite Banner, Inner Mongolia. The practitioners were forced to do hard labor—making clothes for the camp. The younger practitioners ran the treadle sewing machines, while the older ones worked as assistants. Sometimes they had to work more than 10 hours a day. It’s quite common for them to work overtime.
Torture Reenactment: Shocked with an electric baton
Guards often shock and beat the practitioners with electric batons. On one occasion, 25 practitioners shouted in unison “Falun Dafa is good!” Afterwards, all the practitioners except for some older ones were shocked and beaten with electric batons. One practitioner’s neck was shocked so severely that it was covered in bruises and her skin was charred. The guards then applied some irritating substance on her neck.
These practitioners also each have a large tube of their blood drawn every month, which the guards claim is for their physical check-up.
The practitioners illegally detained in this camp include Shen Yueqian, Wang Shaohua, Zhang Xiuli, Yue Jun, Li Fenglian, Wang Chunxia, Jing Zhangxiu, Ning Yuhuan, Wang Li and Tan Zhen, as well as others.
