(Minghui.org) Ms. Liu Ronghua, a 47-year-old college teacher in Dalian City, has been subjected to illegal detention many times for remaining steadfast in her belief in Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance. Zhongshan District Court officials sentenced her to ten years in prison on April 1, 2012.

Upon hearing the judge's pronouncement, Ms. Liu and her family were shocked. In two days Ms. Liu was scheduled to be released from her two-year forced labor term, but she was subjected to such a lengthy sentence. Ms. Liu appealed. April 10 was the deadline for submitting the appeal letter. Ms. Liu's mother and husband went to the Yaojia Detention Center to submit it.
On the morning of April 12, Ms. Liu's mother went to the Zhongshan Court to look for Judge Jiang Xiaohong to ask if the appeal letter had been received. A receptionist answered that Jiang Xiaohong was not in the office and said that it would no longer be under their jurisdiction after Ms. Liu appealed. She told Ms. Liu's mother to go to the intermediate court to inquire. Ms. Liu's mother, who was nearly 80 years old, dragged her stiff legs and finally arrived at the Dalian Intermediate Court to inquire. However, she was told that the appeal letter had not been delivered.
Ms. Liu's mother anxiously went back to the Zhongshan Court and once again asked to meet with Judge Jiang, but she was told that Jiang was not in the office. She had no alternative but had to contact Jiang Xiaohong's boss, Presiding Judge Liu Hongbin. The receptionist was able to contact Liu. Upon learning that it was about Ms. Liu Ronghua's appeal, he said he had no idea and hung up the phone.
Ms. Liu's mother went to the Zhongshan Court again on the morning of April 13, and a female police officer told her that Jiang Xiaohong had received the appeal, which would be delivered to the intermediate court the following Monday. She told Ms. Liu's mother to go to the city court to inquire about it the following week.
Ms. Liu Ronghua is a former teacher and associate professor at Dalian Fisheries College. One of her articles was published in the Encyclopedia of China. She is a kind person and always thinks of others. However, she has been persecuted many times by Chinese Communist Party (CCP) agents. In September 2009, she was taken to Masanjia Forced Labor Camp for a two-year term. When her term expired in September 2011, Dalian City 610 Office agents took her directly from the forced labor camp to the Yaojia Detention Center. The Zhongshan Court officials tried Ms. Liu on January 9, 2012. The court notified Ms. Liu's lawyer on March 30 to come to the court at 10:00 a.m. on April 1 for a verdict announcement. On the afternoon of March 31, the lawyer went to the court to fetch the notification, but couldn't find Judge Jiang Xiaohong.
