Editor’s note: The following are direct translations of statements made by Chinese people, ‘renouncing’ the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) and its subordinate organizations. Statements such as these are submitted to a website affiliate of the Chinese version of The Epoch Times, Dajiyuan. The movement to renounce, withdraw from, or quit the CCP , called ‘Tuidang’ in Chinese, began in late 2004, soon after The Epoch Times published the Nine Commentaries on the Communist Party, an editorial series that explores the nature and history of the CCP. The statements offer a rare and candid glimpse of history in the making: the Chinese people turning their backs on the Communist Party, choosing conscience over convenience, and peacefully ushering in a future China free of Party rule.

Announcement of Quitting the CCP’s Youth Leagues

I am 80 years old. I have personally experienced every torturous CCP political movement since the 1950s. Even now, I still tremble with fear when I look back on those days. Today I realize how deeply the regime has harmed China. I wish to live long enough to witness the collapse of the CCP. I hope to see the day when China embarks on the road to renewal, and the Chinese people can once again lead good and peaceful lives. I, therefore, formally announce that I quit the CCP’s Young Pioneers that I joined many years ago.

Announcement of Quitting the CCP

I was born in the 1980s. I was deceived and deeply poisoned by communist ideology and education from kindergarten through college. I was awakened by the unfair social reality in China after I graduated from college. Nowadays, all the disasters and perils that the Chinese society is going through are all caused by this communist regime and its tyranny. I truly regret that I was led astray and induced into joining the wicked Communist Party before I graduated from college. Fortunately, I didn’t betray my conscience and do anything wrong. Today I announce that I quit all the organizations affiliated with the CCP, including the CCP Youth League and Young Pioneers. After cleaning off the mark branded on me by the evil beast of communism, I solemnly promise that I will not work for the Communist Party and I will be a decent, honest man.

I Quit the CCP, Young Pioneers and Youth League

I quit all the related CCP’s organizations not because you have called on me to do so, but because of the corruption and oppression of the local government. The local government has too much power, and ordinary people have no voice; we cannot even appeal. Falsely charged and accused, we were tortured, threatened and even sentenced to six years’ imprisonment. We were severely abused in jail.

My name is Junfeng. I hereby announce that I quit all of the affiliated organizations related to the Communist Party. At work, I usually surf the Internet using Freegate [software designed by Falun Gong practitioners]. From it I came to know a lot of the true facts. As a police officer, I pretended not to see all the brutal crimes done by leaders such as the director of our local police department, but I don’t want to be implicated in their crimes and eventually be punished along with them. I would like to quietly quit the Party through this platform in order to keep myself safe.

I Am Disgusted With the Communist Party

I realize that I was seriously brainwashed since my childhood. In high school, I went along with the CCP and believed America was an imperial nation bullying other countries everywhere, and I expressed sympathy with Iraq. When 911 happened, I even gloated over the Americans’ misfortune. I was so stupid that I even worshiped Osama bin Laden. I thought how great Mao Zedong was, how stable China was and how Chinese people enjoy a good life. Now I have a clear understanding of the ugly face of the Communist Party.
