静坐止痛 胜过医药 Meditation Is More Effective in Relieving Pain Than Painkillers

 【明慧网二零一一年四月十四日】(明慧记者华云编辑)静坐对缓解疼痛比吗啡这样强力的药物还要有效,80分钟的静坐训练就可以产生迅速而有效的止痛效果。这是最近发表在《神经科学杂志》上的一项研究的结论。

(Clearwisdom.net) Meditation can be better than morphine at relieving pain. After receiving 80 minutes of meditation training, one can stop pain effectively, according to a report published in The Journal of Neuroscience.

这个研究是在实验室里进行的。在静坐训练之前和之后,研究者用一个加热的探头按在十五位男女受试者的腿上。探头逐渐将皮肤的温度升至120华氏度(约50摄氏度),令人感到疼痛。在此过程中,受试者接受大脑扫描。

The study was done in a laboratory where the researcher applied heating probes on the legs of 15 male and female participants before and after they were given meditation training. The probe was used to gradually increase the person's skin temperature to 120 degrees and cause pain, while the brain was being scanned.

此前受试者接受了四次20分钟的静坐训练。在第二次加热探头被施用的过程中,受试者进行静坐,根据他们的打分,疼痛的不舒服感平均减轻了57%,而疼痛的强度则下降了40%。与此相比,吗啡导致的疼痛缓解仅达25%。

The test subjects then received four 20 minute meditation training sessions. A second test with the heating probe was conducted while the subjects meditated. According to these ratings, on average the pain unpleasantness was reduced by 57%, and the pain intensity reduced by 40%. In comparison, the reduction of pain rating with morphine was only 25%.

大脑扫描显示有关疼痛的大脑区域在静坐后变得平静。在静坐过程中,这个区域似乎完全被关掉。

Brain scans found that the pain-sensitive area in the brain became calmer after meditation.

The researcher said that this was the first time it was demonstrated that an hour of meditation could dramatically reduce pain and pain-related brain activities. The study showed that meditation can be truly effective, and help reduce pain without medication.

需要指出的是,任何药物都有副作用,吗啡等止痛药还会让人上瘾。而打坐则没有任何副作用,且不需花费金钱。

All drugs have some side effects, and painkillers such as morphine can cause addiction. Meditation, however, has no side effects and no cost.

近年来,很多研究都显示静坐对健康的益处。其实这一点早已被广大法轮功修炼者证实。法轮功有五套舒缓的功法,其中第五套功法是在打坐中进行。绝大多数法轮功修炼者通过修炼,得以祛除以前的疾病,真正体会到无病一身轻的美好。明慧网已经刊登了大量这样的例子。

In recent years, many studies have shown that meditation is beneficial to one’s health. In fact this has long been demonstrated by Falun Gong practitioners. Falun Gong has five sets of exercises to help one relax. The fifth exercise is conducted while one meditates. Most Falun Gong practitioners manage to rid themselves of their illnesses through cultivation and are able to experience the wonder of true health.

当然,真正达到这一点,只通过打坐是不够的,更主要的是要提高自己的心性,指导法轮功学员提高心性的是李洪志先生的《转法轮》等著作。

Relying on meditation alone certainly is not sufficient to achieve this. The more important factor is elevating one’s moral character. Practitioners rely on Mr. Li Hongzhi’s book Zhuan Falun for guidance on how to elevate their moral character.
