The Chinese regime may have killed tens of thousands of prisoners of conscience for their organs. That’s according to the panel of experts and witnesses at a US Congressional hearing on Tuesday.

“If this is true, even the powerful fraught legal term ‘crimes against humanity’ seems inadequate.”
China’s transplant industry boomed in the early 2000s. China’s Health Ministry has claimed that about 90% of the 10,000 organs transplanted each year come from executed prisoners.
On Tuesday, Dr. Damon Noto said those numbers don’t add up.
Dr. Noto says there are simply not enough prisoners sentenced to death each year to supply that many organs, especially given the need to match blood types, tissues and other factors.
Because of these and several other reasons, Dr. Noto says that China’s transplant system must have access to a living supply of organs—one that’s outside of the regular legal system.

“It has been, through many different investigations, that we now come to believe that it’s prisoners of conscience, including Falun Gong practitioners, Tibetans, Uighurs, house Christians who are being killed for their organs. And many of us now believe that the practitioners of Falun Gong may be one of the worst victims, because they are believed by many to comprise the largest population of prisoners of conscience in China.”
Author Ethan Gutmann, who has carried out his own investigations, says numerous Falun Gong practitioners he’s interviewed were given medical exams in prison—not for a heath checkup, but only to evaluate their retail organs like corneas and kidneys.

“I can’t supply a death count for those groups, but I estimate that 65,000 Falun Gong were murdered for their organs between 2000 and 2008.”
Dr. Gabriel Danovitch, a Professor of Medicine from the UCLA Medical School, recommended the US government enact measures to restrict organ tourism to China, and to urge the medical community to stop research and collaboration with transplant professionals in China unless they have first clearly identify the source of organs.
