(Minghui.org)Falun Gong practitioners gathered in Valencia, Venezuela, the capital of Carabobo State, from April 28 to 30, 2023, to introduce the practice to people and celebrate the 31stanniversary of the public introduction of Falun Gong.

They also expressed their gratitude to Master for giving them to the opportunity to cultivate.
During the three days, practitioners did the exercises together, told people about the persecution in China, sent forth righteous thoughts, and exchanged cultivation experiences. They did the exercises together in Negra Hipólita Park, where practitioners usually do them together on Sunday mornings.
Practitioners exchanged their cultivation understandings with true sincerity. It was also a good opportunity for new practitioners to hear about the cultivation experiences of veteran practitioners and improve together. Everyone cherished the chance to work with other practitioners and thanked practitioners from other countries for their support to make the three-day event a success.

In October 2000, Mr. Li went to Beijing to appeal for Dafa. He was arrested and taken back to the Jiulong Town Police Station. During the several days he was detained there, he was beaten and cursed at by the police.
Mr. Li Qisheng, 70, was a resident of Baiguoshu Village, Jiulong Town, Jiaozhou City, Shandong Province. After he took up the practice of Falun Dafa, his health improved dramatically.
In October 2000, Mr. Li went to Beijing to appeal for Dafa. He was arrested and taken back to the Jiulong Town Police Station. During the several days he was detained there, he was beaten and cursed at by the police. Then he was transferred to a detention center, where he was held for 15 days. Afterwards, the Jiulong Town Police Station detained him again. After enduring severe torture, this 70-year-old gentleman was extremely weak. Not wanting to take the responsibility should he die, the Jiulong Town Government sent him home. Several days after Mr. Li returned home, his condition worsened, and he passed away.

Ms. Yamakawa concluded, “Zhuan Falun inspires and motivates me as an educator and as a parent. More importantly, it taught me how to improve my character, not just to be a good person, but to constantly improve myself and reach higher standards. Not only did I change, but my surrounding environment also became better.”
Teaching Students to Follow Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance
Ms. Yamakawa was a primary school teacher. When her mother told her about Falun Dafa (also known as Falun Gong), the Japanese version of Zhuan Falun hadn’t been published yet.
After the Japanese version of Zhuan Falun was published in 1999, Ms. Yamakawa was very interested in reading it and read the entire book in three days. There are descriptions in the book about the mindset and moral standard that people should have, which reminded her of an incident when she was a student. Ms. Yamakawa said, “I once did something good for the class, but no one recognized it and that upset me. I realized that this was just a superficial act of kindness, not kindness from the heart.”
“After I read Zhuan Falun, my father’s condition improved. Every time he went to the bathroom, his urine smelled liked the Chinese medicine he used to take, so his body was being purified. My father, who was unable to get up due to various ailments, became more and more relaxed, and he went from being irritable to calm and gentle. Zhuan Falun made such a huge change. It’s really an amazing book.
“I graduated from college and became an elementary school teacher. One of my students often lied and was a bully, which troubled the other children. Whenever there was a conflict, I explained to the students the importance of Truthfulness, Compassion, and Forbearance mentioned in Zhuan Falun. Time passed, and one day the boy who never admitted that he was a bully said for the first time, ‘I did it.’ The girl sitting next to him said, ‘Teacher, he met the standard of truthfulness in Truthfulness, Compassion, and Forbearance!’ After that, the boy’s bullying behavior gradually tapered off. His mother was surprised and said, ‘My son has become obedient. What did you say to him?’
“One teacher was in poor health and had to take several kinds of medicine every day. There were also several students in her class who were in poor health and had to go to the health center every day. That teacher started to practice Falun Dafa and came to my house every morning before we went to work, and we practiced together. She also studied the Fa with me on weekends. Gradually, her health improved and she almost didn’t need medicine anymore. She had plenty of energy to work. Her doctor told her that she couldn’t get pregnant, but later she gave birth to a healthy baby. Amazingly, several weak children in her class no longer needed to go to the health center, and the atmosphere in her class became very peaceful.
“The teacher in the classroom next to me once asked, ‘How come the students in your class are so quiet even if the teacher isn’t there? Even experienced teachers often yell at their students.’ I replied that Zhuan Falun had helped me greatly as an educator. She also started to read the book.”
Ms. Yamakawa concluded, “Zhuan Falun inspires and motivates me as an educator and as a parent. Whole Family Benefits from Reading Zhuan Falun
In 2010, when Ms. Kiyomitsu was in pain and frustrated, she saw a notice about a free qigong lecture in a city brochure, so she signed up and learned about Falun Dafa.
She recalled, “Although it was the first time I’d met the woman who taught me the exercises, I felt close to her, as though I’d reunited with a family member. She suggested I read Zhuan Falun. Although she suggested that I read it all at once, my thought karma interfered, and I had to read each sentence several times. In particular, when I got to lecture six on cultivation insanity, I felt very sleepy and I couldn’t continue. When I was about to give up, the woman who taught me the exercises asked, ‘Have you read the book?’ So I finished reading Zhuan Falun. When I finished the last paragraph of the book, I couldn’t stop crying. I felt that I had found the treasure I’d been looking for.
“After practicing for a few months, I started to volunteer with the Shen Yun hotline. On particularly busy days, my husband said, ‘Just do your work. I’ll cook dinner.’ So I didn’t worry when I got home a little later than usual. One day when I got home, I heard the children crying bitterly. My husband had asked them to do the laundry, and they started to quarrel over who should help first. My husband scolded them and the situation got out of control.
“I restrained my anger, calmed them down, and said, ‘I’ll fix dinner.’ Then I went into the kitchen. When we all started to eat, there was still tension in the atmosphere, and my husband said, ‘After dinner, let’s study the Fa together.’ Our entire family has benefited from Dafa, but it was the first time that the four of us had studied the Fa together. I was really touched when my husband said this. My children nodded. After dinner, the four of us sat in the living room and read the book paragraph by paragraph. What surprised me even more was that my son, who was not good at his studies, read it word for word. I still can’t forget that day.
“Zhuan Falun is a precious book. It helped my family live in harmony and has also made me realize the root cause of conflicts and my own attachments. It has guided me to higher realms. I will study the Fa more carefully and practice well. Thank you, Master, for finding me in this world and guiding me on the path of cultivation!”
Coming Across Dafa at a Low Point
Ms. Chika is a musician. In 1985, she went to the United States to study music and lived in Los Angeles until she returned to Japan in 2022. Her husband’s business was thriving, and she had lived a life of ease and comfort for more than 20 years. But about five years ago, due to unexpected events, they suddenly lost everything. To make matters worse, Ms. Chika contracted a severe case of COVID-19. At the lowest point in her life, when she was physically and mentally devastated and financially destitute, her friends suggested she try practicing Falun Dafa.
Ms. Chika participated in an online exercise teaching session. She said, “Because I was influenced by ordinary people’s notions for a long time, I couldn’t accept the principles of Dafa and I had a negative attitude. But now I read Zhuan Falun every day, which is incredible. I realize everything was arranged by Master, and I am full of gratitude.”
She also recalled, “I resented and had contempt for my husband who failed in his career, and I was cold to him. Through studying the Fa, I understood that all misfortunes in life come from karma. My resentment for my husband disappeared. I’ve been a musician for many years, and I was attached to fame and fortune.
Master said,
“It is said in religion that regardless of how much money you have or how high your position ranks, it is good for only a few decades. You cannot bring these things along with you at birth, or carry them away with you after death.” (Lecture Four, Zhaun Falun)
“I let go of that attachment. After reincarnating so many times, I finally encountered Dafa. I must practice well in this lifetime and strive to reach the goal of cultivation!”
