As the days passed, Ms Lin was surprised to discover that her chronic pain and other various symptoms had all vanished. She truly enjoyed the wonder of being illness-free and was full of gratitude to Dafa!
(Minghui.org) Ms. Lin Yue-rui is a primary school teacher in Taiwan and a mother of three children. Although she was a dedicated teacher, she was also strict with her children, demanding high levels of achievement and success, and thus became a “tiger mom.” However, Falun Dafa completely transformed her and changed her life.
Ms. Lin majored in electronic engineering in college. But later, she discovered her passion for teaching. She went back to college and earned a bachelor’s degree in elementary education from Hsinchu Normal College and a master’s degree in art and design from Tsinghua University. She has dedicated thirty years to primary education.
As a strict mother, she required her three children to practice music daily, read regularly, and help with household chores. When they failed to meet her expectations, she would insist that they continue working until they did. Any of their missteps were met with strict punishment. She was indeed a “tiger mom.”
Some years ago, Ms. Lin began to suffer from endometriosis. After taking painkillers for six years, her condition deteriorated. Each month, she was tortured with severe pain half of the time, sometimes to the point that she could barely stand. Just as she was feeling desperate and decided to undergo surgery to remove her uterus, a life-changing turning point occurred.
Ending Years of Suffering
In August 2006, before Ms. Lin underwent surgery to remove her uterus, she encountered a university lecturer, who told her that she had practiced Falun Dafa for seven years and hadn’t taken a single pill. Touched by her experience, Ms. Lin thought about practicing Falun Dafa also. Thereafter, she began her Falun Dafa cultivation journey.
Less than two weeks after practicing Dafa, her long-term insomnia disappeared. She fell asleep quickly and slept soundly through the night. As her body continued being cleansed through daily Dafa exercises and study of the Fa teachings, she felt increasingly happy and energetic.

Integrating Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance Into Teaching
As a passionate teacher, Ms. Lin enjoyed interacting with the children daily and never felt irritated with them. After practicing Falun Dafa, she realized that she should always follow the standards of Truthfulness, Compassion, and Forbearance in life and looked within so as to continuously strive to become a better teacher.
She firmly believes that every child has their own place in the world under patient guidance and education, and that character building is the key to a child’s success. In her classroom, she often guided children with the principles of sincerity, kindness, tolerance, and forgiveness, teaching them to be kind and to grow with confidence.
Ms. Lin also believes that teaching is a sacred profession and that teachers are the guiding lights for students in their growth and learning. She strove to fulfill her duties fully and to nurture every child. Ms. Lin frequently received affirmation and gratitude from parents. Especially around the annual Teacher’s Day, many students gave her heartfelt cards. One read, “Teacher, you are like an angel, emitting white light, striving to teach me to be a good person. Thank you, teacher.” Ms. Lin was awarded Outstanding Teacher of Hsinchu City in 2012 and honored with many other awards.
Spreading Dafa in Schools and Communities
Benefiting physically and mentally from practicing Dafa, Ms. Lin hoped that more people around her could live happily as well. So she began to volunteer, teaching Falun Dafa exercises in communities, and taught teachers and students in her school during recess as well. She also organized a Falun Dafa club at her school.
During that period, teachers and students were often spotted practicing Falun Dafa exercises on campus. Nearly 200 of them participated in a demonstration of Dafa exercises for two consecutive years at the school’s annual Sports Day, displaying a spectacular scene.
Falun Dafa’s remarkable effects in healing illnesses and improving health were evident in the school. It was recognized that a significantly smaller number of students took sick leave. Stabilization of students’ emotions and their improvement in academic performance were noticed as well. Observing these transformations, many parents expressed interest in learning Dafa. Subsequently, Ms. Lin taught them the exercises in the evenings and eventually established two group practice sites.
“Tiger Mom” Transformed
One day after doing the exercises, Ms. Lin’s daughter mentioned that her mother no longer yelled at her children anymore, which made Ms. Lin realize how bad her temper had previously been.
Before she practiced Falun Dafa, Ms Lin had despised people with lower moral values and believed in repaying kindness with kindness, and vengeance with vengeance. So, it was very hard for her to accept being wronged when she worked so hard, and she would always seek to clear her name or fight back. Now, when Ms. Lin encounters any unfair treatment, she first reflects on whether she has done anything wrong. If not, she considers that she encountered unfairness because she might have once treated others unfairly and now had to suffer in the same way. Nothing happens by chance. She was aware that she needed to improve in certain areas and act in accordance with the standards of a cultivator.
Looking back on her cultivation journey, after consistent Fa study, Ms. Lin discovered that the book Zhuan Falun is profound. Through practicing the exercises and Fa study, she not only achieved physical health but also attained mental peace. Attachments, stress, and worries no longer trouble her. The beauty of elevation in the Fa is indescribable—it must be experienced firsthand to be understood.
Ms. Lin said, “Dafa is like a beacon, illuminating my life, helping me understand the meaning of life, and guiding me back to my true self. Everything I have gained is something no amount of money in the world could buy. I am filled with joy and gratitude. Thank you, Master! Thank you, Dafa! I hope more people will learn about Falun Dafa through my story, join in the practice, and experience the beauty of Falun Dafa for themselves.”
