After learning about the benefits of practicing Falun Dafa (also known as Falun Gong) and the extent of the persecution, some visitors expressed their admiration; others, sadness; and still others, solidarity and encouragement. Many people signed the petition and said they would like to help practitioners end the persecution.
(Minghui.org) In the Parque das Nações (Park of Nations), formerly Expo 98, in Lisbon, practitioners held activities on April 25, 27, and 28, 2024, to introduce Falun Dafa and raise awareness of the persecution of the spiritual practice in China. They peacefully protested in front of the Chinese Embassy on April 26 to commemorate the peaceful appeal in Beijing, China, on April 25 a quarter of a century ago.
The Park of Nations is a very popular place. Practitioners set up banners and display boards about the Chinese Communist Party’s (CCP) persecution. They also distributed fliers to and collected signatures from the many tourists and residents who stopped to read the information and talk to them.

Two men who were very interested in Falun Gong accepted fliers and origami lotus flowers. They said they felt sad about the persecution.
Mrs. Ly Rio, a dental assistant, and Mr. Fonseca, a barber, were impressed by what they learned about the persecution of Falun Dafa.
On the morning of April 26, practitioners peacefully demonstrated in front of the Chinese Embassy.
They told people about how, on April 25, 1999, around 10,000 Falun Gong practitioners gathered at the Appeals Office of the State Council in Beijing and called for the release of 45 practitioners detained by the Tianjin police. They also called on the government to allow Falun Gong books to be published and for practitioners to be able to practice Falun Gong openly. During the appeal, the whole world saw how peaceful Falun Gong practitioners were and how they held themselves to high moral standards. It was regarded as the largest and most orderly appeal in Chinese history.
