People Choose Justice and Oppose the CCP’s Persecution of Falun Gong (Photos)

June 28, 2012 | Summarized by Minghui corespondent Fang Hui
(Minghui.org) Mr. Wang Xiaodoing was arrested on February 25, 2012. His home was ransacked and his possessions confiscated because he practices Falun Gong. Three hundred households from Zhouguantun Village in Fu Township, Botou in the Cangzhou District, Hebei Province, placed their thumbprints on an appeal letter to the city Procuratorate office, demanding the release of Mr. Wang. This thumbprint petition letter shocked the Central Committee Political Bureau.
Shortly after, 562 villagers from Tanghai County in Hebei Province put their thumbprints on a petition letter supporting the release of Falun Gong practitioner Mr. Zheng Xiangxing.
Recently, 15,000 people from Yichun, Heilongjiang Province, stepped forward for Ms.Qin Rongqian, placing their thumbprints on her petition letter for her father. Ms. Qin’s father, Mr. Qin Yueming, passed away as a result of being tortured in prison because he refused to give up his belief in Falun Gong.
Villagers from Tanghai, Hebei Province, demanded that the police department release Mr. Zheng Xiangxing.

People from Yichun, Heilongjiang Province—15,000 of them—stepped forward for Ms.Qin Rongqian, signing and placing their thumbprints on her petition letter, demanding justice for her dead father.

Over 300 households from Zhouguantun Village in Hebei Province put their thumbprints and official seal on the petition letter to demand the release of Mr. Wang Xiaodong.
A few days ago, a NTDTV reporter interviewed Taiwan’s former vice president, Ms. Annette Lu, in Osaka, Japan, Ms. Lu remarked that everyone should bravely stand up to face unfair persecution of human rights. Not only those in China should join the effort— people around the world should join together to protect human rights, as we have already received help from around the world. Ms. Lu also said she sincerely hopes that Chinese officials can have more open minds, because everyone is born equal and should be given appropriate respect.
People’s Change of Heart Starts with an Awakening
Mr. Huang Kunhuei, former Taiwan Mainland Affairs Council chairman and Taiwan Union party chairman, said, “Why blame Falun Gong? The (CCP)’s cruel persecution of Falun Gong has been despised worldwide for a long time, and now the people in China are finding more and more courage to stand up. Three hundred villagers were willing to leave their fingerprints and official seal on the petition letter and made their request [for justice]. I feel the CCP can’t continue to cover its eyes and pretend it didn’t see it.”
Legislator Ms. Tien Chiujin said that such efforts mean that, despite this repressive persecution that originally intended to eradicate Falun Gong, ordinary Chinese citizens are finally thinking about Falun Gong based on the fundamentals of humanity. She stressed that the Chinese people are finally seeing through the Chinese Communist Party’s manipulative control of the media. The people have seen that the Falun Gong practitioners arrested and detained by the CCP are good people, so they are willing to sign a petition and ask for these practitioners to be released. They are showing great strength.
Ms. Tien said that such a strong force that emanates from Chinese peoples’ hearts should be looked at with all due seriousness. She suggested it was time to review the Falun Gong issue again. “If the persecution continues, the CCP will only become more perplexed by the issue,” she said.
Legislator Ms. Huang Wenling stressed, “We believe that the CCP’s suppression of Falun Gong is incompatible with human rights.
“In particular, even with so many people supporting Falun Gong, the CCP still wants the 300 households in the one village to withdraw their signatures,” she added. “This would only result in more villagers coming out and supporting Falun Gong.”
If It Faces Up to Falun Gong Issue Correctly, China Will Have Hope
Mr. Ruan Ming, the former CPC Central Committee general secretary, and Ms. Hu Yaobang, executive director of the League for Human Rights, said that, from the recent incidents involving Wang Lijun, Bo Xilai, and Chen Guangcheng, one can tell that the CCP regime is widely apprehensive. Mr. Ruan Ming believes that when those 562 Chinese citizens posted the document with their fingerprints on it to the Internet, it was similar to when the blind lawyer, Mr. Chen Guangcheng, escaped from Shandong, despite being closely monitored. Both of these events illustrate how the CCP is losing control. China is nearing the moment when dawn breaks through the darkest part of the night.
Mr. Ruan Ming stressed that the persecution of Falun Gong began under the lead of Jiang Zemin and that many people involved in the persecution were just obeying him.
Mr. Yang Hsienhung, chairman of the Taiwan League for Human Rights, said that, from the large numbers of villagers willing to sign petition letters to rescue Falun Gong practitioners, “we can see the extent of recognition of Falun Gong practitioners in China. The villagers saw practitioners every day. Those practitioners are truly good people who follow the principles of Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance. As a result, the villagers are willing to stand by the practitioners. Chinese people are willing to stand by compassion,” said Mr. Yang Hsienhung. “They want to separate themselves from evil and make correct choices. This is a very important force for social reform.”
Mr. Yang Hsienhung believes there must be people in the Chinese central government who agree with the 300 villagers who signed the petition to rescue Falun Gong practitioners. They will encourage such incidents—this is the moment that major reform will happen in China. He stressed that, to move the whole of China toward true reconciliation, the Falun Gong issue must be publicly rehabilitated—those who committed crimes against humanity should be put on trial.
Citizens Choose Justice Over the CCP Persecution
Incidents such as a petition with 300 signatures are becoming more and more common in China. Last year, 2,300 people from Falun Gong practitioner Mr. Chou Xiangyang’s hometown (Changli County in Qinhuangdao, Hebei Province) signed a petition letter supporting his appeal for the way he was illegally treated. After a government agency arrested Mr. Chou’s wife, Ms. Li Shanshan, over 500 ordinary citizens joined in the rescue efforts.
On December 21, 2010, the Minghui website reported on the arrests of Falun Gong practitioners Mr. Yuan Yulong; his son, Mr. Yuan Shoujiang; and his daughter-in-law, Ms. Gong Jinfen, from Zhongsheng Village, Shangjieji Township, Fujin, Heilongjiang Province. More than 95 percent of the villagers—including village officials—joined together to defend the three practitioners as good people and demanded their immediate release. This incident was quite a sensation. When these three practitioners were arrested, almost the entire village had the courage to speak up. They not only signed their names but also put their fingerprints on the petition. They not only was evidence of their sense of justice, but also recognized the moral character of Falun Gong practitioners.
In February 2009, another example of regular citizens seeking justice and signing a petition for Falun Gong practitioners in Fushun, Liaoning Province, shook Zhou Youngkang, Luo Gan, and other communist leaders. At that time, Mr. Xu Dawei from Yingemen Township, Qingyuan County in Fushun, Liaoning Province, was released from prison after eight years of torture. After enduring such cruelty in prison—including being shackled with hand and leg cuffs for long periods of time, beaten repeatedly, hung by handcuffs, force-fed, stabbed with needles, electrically shocked, and injected with drugs that harm the central nervous system—Mr. Xu was taken to the hospital after being released and passed away 13 days later. He was only 36 years old. Indignant, local villagers piled into two trucks and went to Donglin Prison, seeking justice. The prison did not give any reply. 376 people from five villages then signed a petition letter that exposed the persecution of Falun Gong in Donglin Prison.
So many regular citizens have chosen to support innocent Falun Gong practitioners. Facing tyranny, they have chosen justice. It also means that the people are not afraid of government suppression and that they are starting to awaken and oppose the persecution. In this regard, former Taiwan Mainland Affairs Council Vice President Mr. You Yinglong said, “When people are not afraid of death, suppression of any type is useless. There is no reason to use tougher approaches. Just respond to the calls [of justice] from regular citizens and the international community.”
