一九九六年三月，新加坡的法轮功学员向社团注册局申请注册佛学会。一九九六年六月十五日，法轮功创始人李洪志先生在新加坡作短暂逗留时与部份学员会面。学员们告知师父，已经申请注册社团，正在等待审批。李老师在学员的请求下，欣然题词：“法轮佛学会新加坡”。
Falun Gong practitioners in Singapore applied at the Registry of Trademarks & Patents in March 1996 to register the Falun Dafa Association. Falun Gong's founder Mr. Li Hongzhi visited Singapore on June 15, 1996 and stayed for a short time. He met with some practitioners, who told him they had already applied for registration as an official organization and were awaiting approval. Mr. Li wrote the inscription "Falun Buddha Society (Singapore)" in response to the practitioners' request.
一九九六年七月二十八日，李洪志先生再次来到新加坡，出席了“法轮佛学会新加坡”社团成立大会并即席演讲，这次演讲的内容后来出版成书，名为《在新加坡法轮佛学会成立典礼上讲法》。
Mr. Li visited Singapore again on July 28, 1996. He attended a conference to celebrate the founding of the Singapore Falun Dafa Association and presented a lecture. The lecture, "Teaching the Fa at the Conference in Singapore," was later published.
