Police officers elsewhere do this meditation exercise, but their colleagues in China suppress it

Many police officers in Mexico, Canada, and India practice Falun Gong, a peaceful qigong, and Chinese police have been forced to arrest its practitioners in China under a persecution launched in 1999.
On Aug. 20, the Mexican federal police organized an event in support of the health movement among community groups. Falun Gong practitioners were invited to participate in this activity at Alameda Central Park, Cuernavaca, according to Minghui News.
Falun Gong, or Falun Dafa, is a qigong practice consisting of five exercises, and teachings of the principles of Truthfulness, Compassion, and Forbearance. Many people worldwide said that this practice had brought them good health and peace of mind.
“Falun Dafa is practiced and cherished by millions of people in more than 114 countries and has received more than 3,000 awards,” reported the New York Senate in its Resolution 1432 on the occasion of World Falun Dafa Day.
However, Falun Gong practitioners in China have been subjected to persecution, torture, forced labor, and are even killed for organ harvesting, according to investigators. This bloody crackdown comes from the jealousy of the former Chinese Communist Party (CCP) leader Jiang Zemin towards the practice, for its practitioners outnumbered the CCP’s members back in 1999.
Mexican practitioners published information about the persecution, and instructed attendees and police officers to practice Falun Gong at the event in Cuernavaca.

Juan Carlos Reyes, a member of the event organizers and commander of a police team, also learned Falun Gong with his colleagues.

“Falun Gong is being persecuted in China. We are all by your side. We will invite you to participate in events held in other cities,” said Mr. Reyes to Mexican practitioners.

Many participants also signed the petition, urging the Chinese government to stop the persecution of Falun Gong.
“Others teach people how to defend themselves. But you guys do not. Falun Gong teaches people how to be good people,” said a man after signing the petition.

The event in Cuernavaca was not the first one that Mexican police joined to learn Falun Gong. More than 600 police officers in the capital of Mexico attended a Falun Gong class between 18 and 22 July 2016 to gain “patience and a calm mind throughout the day.”

Their colleagues in other countries, such as India and Canada, also practice this free qigong.

His family can freely practice Falun Gong because the leaders and people in the country appreciate the practice.
“In Canada, we have the privilege to fully enjoy the values of a society based on openness and freedom; we recognize the significance of Falun Dafa principles of Truthfulness, Compassion and Tolerance,” Canadian MP Nathaniel Erskine-Smith wrote in his letter to the Toronto Falun Dafa Association on the occasion of World Falun Dafa Day 2017.

This fact is far different from China, his wife’s homeland, where police arrest people just because they follow a qigong practice based on the principles of Truthfulness, Compassion, and Forbearance.
