Who is Bo Xilai? PART 1: Before the Scandal


This is the first piece of a series that The Run List is doing to inform you of who Bo Xilai is, why his trial was so important and why this could be the beginning of the end of Communism in China.
Bo Xilai, one of China’s most ambitious and cruel politicians met his downfall when it was exposed that his wife had murdered a British businessman. When his right hand man and partner in crime fled to the U.S. consulate with many of his secrets, Bo, a rising star in the Chinese Communist Party’s Politburo, saw his career cut short. 
The Bo family Saga is nothing short of a drama: secrets, politics, corruption, betrayal, and murder. 
Many call his trial China’s trial of the century, even the biggest political trial since the fall of the Gang of Four. And while the trial itself was a spectacle, Bo’s most heinous crimes as a politician remains hidden, because the bribery, corruption, and abuse of power that he was charged with, is only the tip of the ice berg
