Two Vietnamese to Face Trial for China Broadcasts

Two Vietnamese men who were arrested last year, will go on trial this Thursday—for broadcasting radio programs into China exposing the Communist Party's persecution of the Falun Gong spiritual practice.

It's the second attempt to sentence Vu Duc Trung and his brother-in-law, Le Van Thanh. Both men practice Falun Gong.

The initial trial in April was postponed because of global pressure and condemnation from Reporters Without Borders and international media coverage.

This case happened after the Chinese regime demanded the Vietnamese government crack down on Falun Gong. Under pressure, the Vietnamese authorities intensified their harassment on local Falun Gong practitioners.

The Falun Dafa Information Center—in a media statement on its website—appeals to the international community to once again help stop the upcoming trial. It calls on the Vietnamese government to resist pressure from the Chinese regime.
