The classical Chinese dance and music company Shen Yun Performing Arts is in the middle of a seven show run in the US city of San Fransisco. Some of Shen Yun's performances are partially sponsored by NTD Television.
Shen Yun's other companies will also be performing in the US city of Philadelphia and in Montreal, Canada this weekend.
Just arriving in the US from mainland China, Ms. Wang saw Shen Yun Performing Arts in San Francisco last night.
[Ms. Wang, Audience from Mainland China]:
"I'm really moved, and also I think living truthfully is really not easy."
Shen Yun presents 5000 years of traditional Chinese culture through classical Chinese dance.
[Ms. Wang, Audience from Mainland China]:
"Eye and facial expressions, and the movements are all very precise, very expressive."
She says after seeing Shen Yun, her view of the world— and particularly China—has changed.
[Ms. Wang, Audience from Mainland China]:
"I tell the truth, I cried during the last performance. Because I think this performance has placed every person as a real, independent, free individual. Respect—respecting us. Before [seeing the performance] you would think you were just lowly, just a worthless person. But now you would feel you are someone who should receive respect. You should be independent, who can speak freely, and also can develop."
