Recent Trial of Former Khmer Rouge Regime Heads Foretells Demise of the Jiang-Luo-Liu-Zhou Gang
June 19, 2013 | By Zhong Yan
(Minghui.org) A recent Minghui article reported the following:
“The Criminal High Court of Argentina remanded a case to the Federal Court of Criminal Appeals on April 17, 2013, ordering it to reopen the trial against the following defendants: former president and Party chief, Jiang Zemin, and former Party Standing Committee member, Luo Gan.
The two have been charged with the torture and genocide of Falun Gong practitioners in China. The plaintiff, the Falun Dafa Association of Argentina (FDAA), had already twice appealed the case. The case will now be reopened.
The FDAA hopes that the Argentina courts will uphold the spirit and letter of the law by issuing an international arrest warrant for Jiang and Luo.”
I am confident that this landmark decision will provide momentum for many other lawsuits against former Chinese Communist Party (CCP) head Jiang around the world, and will motivate many more people to bring to justice Jiang and his top aides, Luo Gan (former Party Standing Committee member), Liu Jing (former Deputy Director of the Central 610 Office), and Zhou Yongkang (former head of the Political and Legislative Affairs Committee). These are the chief culprits in the persecution of Falun Gong.
The Gang of Jiang-Luo-Liu-Zhou Is the Most Evil and Genocidal Criminals Ever Seen in Human History
Out of jealousy over Falun Gong’s popularity, Jiang Zemin secretly established the Central 610 Office with branches throughout China on June 10, 1999, to specifically target the one hundred million practitioners who follow the principles of Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance. In order to justify their groundless persecution, the gang of Jiang-Luo-Liu-Zhou wantonly manipulated various forms of state apparatus, and used them to persecute Falun Gong.
In addition to subjecting practitioners to more than one hundred torture methods, and committing them to mental hospitals and brainwashing centers, the gang of Jiang-Luo-Liu-Zhou also shocked the world with organ harvesting from living practitioners. Such unprecedented evil has never before been seen on this planet, and is beyond any normal person’s wildest imagination.
During this persecution, the gang of Jiang-Luo-Liu-Zhou not only harmed numerous Chinese citizens by intimidating and coercing them into remaining silent, but also jeopardized the future of China. Having to choose between vested interests and conscience, many Chinese and foreign governments around the world have unwillingly abetted the CCP crimes. Their passive participation in the persecution, be it direct or indirect, is a shameful mark on them.
These atrocities against Falun Gong have also contributed to a decline of morality and the collapse of China’s legal systems. The entire country is riddled with numerous social problems, and China is in a deep crisis.
The long-running and large-scale persecution of Falun Gong practitioners during the past 14 years has also become a huge burden to China in the international community, as evidenced by protests that follow CCP leaders when they travel overseas. The protests that greeted newly installed Party chief Xi Jinping’s visit to the U.S. is a testament to this.
Jiang Zemin Sued in 17 Countries–Good Always Triumphs Over Evil
Jiang Zemin has been sued for anti-humanity, genocide, and torture in 17 countries and regions, including the U.S., Canada, Australia, Switzerland, Belgium, Spain, Germany, Greece, Hong Kong, and Taiwan.
It is mankind’s unchanged theme that good always triumphs over evil. Though there may be ups and downs in the process, however, as history unfolds, people have hope. The Argentina case against Jiang Zemin and Luo Gan again clearly shows this.
The same Minghui report included the following:
“On December 13, 2005, the FDAA filed a lawsuit against Luo Gan, the then Vice-Director of the 610 Office, while he was visiting Argentina. He is being charged with using the 610 Office to directly plan and deploy the persecution of Falun Gong. The case was accepted by Judge Dr. Octavio Aráoz de Lamadrid, of Federal Criminal Court No. 9.
In December 2009, after four years of investigation and collecting testimonies from many Falun Dafa practitioners, Judge Lamadrid issued an international warrant requesting that Interpol arrest defendants, Jiang and Luo, when they leave China, and extradite them to stand trial in Argentina for their crimes against humanity. The judge included Jiang in Luo’s case after he discovered that the former president of China initiated the persecution of Falun Gong.
The Chinese Embassy in Argentina issued a formal letter to the Minister of the Argentine Foreign Ministry; Argentine court officials, and various state ministers, asking for “the end to all cases related to Falun Gong” immediately after they received notice of the international arrest warrants for Jiang and Luo. They also threatened that should the case proceed, it would undermine bilateral relations between China and Argentina.
Shortly after, Judge Lamadrid was forced to resign and the Argentine government quickly arranged for another judge to take his place. On the first day that the newly appointed judge took over, he revoked the international arrest warrant against Jiang and Luo and closed the case for lack of evidence.
The FDAA appealed to the Federal Court of Criminal Appeals, which ruled in December 2010 that the case applied the principle of universal jurisdiction, and that the evidence surrounding the persecution, which was provided by the plaintiff, was sufficient enough to accept and trust.
However, the court rejected the case based on the principle of “non bis in idem” [If the International Criminal Court (ICC) has decided the case then no other court may try that same case].
In essence, the principle holds that two identical matters cannot be brought forth independently against the same defendants. Because a similar case based on human rights violations against Falun Gong adherents had already been brought in Spain, the Court of Appeals ruled that the principle applied.”
The FDAA then appealed to the Criminal High Court of Argentina, which on April l7, 2013 rejected the Federal Court of Criminal Appeals’ decision to close the case and ordered the case be remanded to the Ninth Tribunal of the Federal Criminal Court for retrial.
The Gang of Jiang-Luo-Liu-Zhou Faces an Even More Miserable Future than Former Khmer Rouge Regime Leaders
On May 30, 2013, Nuon Chea and Khieu Samphan, two former Khmer Rouge Regime top leaders, publicly apologized to their victims for the first time at a trial held in Phnom Penh, the capital city of Cambodia. They are still going through the trial at the International Court of Justice of the United Nations.
Back in February 2009, a U.N.-originated genocide court opened trial in Phnom Penh and charged five high-ranking officials in the Pol Pot-era Khmer Rouge regime with war crimes, anti-humanity, torture, and murder. Former S21 Prison head Kang Kek IEW admitted that 15,000 prisoners died of torture during his tenure of 1975-1979. He was sentenced to 35 years in 2010 and the court rejected his appeal.
From 1975 to 1978, the CCP-backed Khmer Rouge regime murdered nearly two million people in Cambodia, a country with a population of less than eight million. The victims included 200,000 Chinese who lived there.
The fates of these former Khmer Rouge regime leaders is a foretelling sign of what’s in store for the gang of Jiang-Luo-Liu-Kang. As a matter of fact, they will face even an even more miserable future since they not only murdered many people, but also attempted to slander the Buddha Law and have ruined China’s morality. What awaits them is not only justice in the human world, but also endless suffering in hell.
