March 6, 2024 | By a Falun Dafa practitioner in Bulgaria
(Minghui.org) Falun Dafa practitioners in Bulgaria held their first gathering of 2024 in Stara Zagora, a southern Bulgarian city, on February 24 and 25. They read the teachings of Dafa (Fa), discussed their cultivation experiences, and held several events to introduce Falun Dafa to the public.
On February 24, practitioners held an informational event near the central department store on the main pedestrian street of Stara Zagora. Some practitioners did the Falun Dafa exercises while others talked to people about Dafa and how the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) brutally persecutes the spiritual discipline in China.
The next day, February 25, practitioners did the exercises in the city garden next to the municipal administration buildings. Many passersby took informational leaflets and some immediately read the information. That afternoon practitioners met in the conference hall of the Vereya Hotel, where they read Falun Dafa’s main book Zhuan Falun together, and talked about their cultivation experiences.
As part of ongoing efforts to raise awareness about the persecution in China, practitioners prepared two petitions. The first condemns the CCP for its 24-year-long suppression of Falun Dafa. The second, which supports the work of Doctors Against Forced Organ Harvesting, urges governments around the world to avoid participating in or abetting the CCP’s forced organ harvesting from Falun Dafa practitioners and other persecuted communities.
Public Support for Falun Dafa
The presence of so many practitioners doing the exercises together drew much attention. Many people asked where they could learn the Falun Dafa exercises. Practitioners handed out flyers about Falun Dafa with information about local practice sites.
Dimitar, a student, immediately signed both petitions. After signing, he posed for a photo with a practitioner and added, “No one should be indifferent to this persecution.”
Half an hour later Dimitar brought two of his friends who also signed the petitions.
People of all ages signed the petitions and said they wished to stand with practitioners in China against the CCP’s persecution. One man told a practitioner, “It’s good that you are doing this!” Another commended practitioners for “working for the truth.”
Some people stopped and carefully read the leaflets and then signed the petitions. A woman said, “It’s inhuman to be killed for your faith.”
Nenko already knew about China and the human rights violations there, and said, “In Bulgaria, we either lack information or it’s distorted.”
A young man watched practitioners for a long time as they did the exercises. Then he sat down and began to read the leaflet. He asked if practitioners met there every Sunday. Finally, he exclaimed, “What harmony and purity!”

Editor’s Note: Dear readers, do you know that Falun Dafa, originally from China, is currently practiced by people in over 100 countries? But in China, since Jul. 20, 1999, Falun Gong is defamed, slandered and persecuted due to the Chinese Communist Party’s fear of Falun Gong’s rapidly growing popularity. Jiang Zemin, former head of the Chinese Communist Party (CCP), perceived the spiritual discipline’s growing popularity as a threat to the CCP’s atheistic ideology.
