“Falun Gong Practitioners Are Good!”

“We practice Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance, and Master wants us to be selfless. If no one takes care of the road, then we should step in and do something about it.”
So during the winter season, they came and cleared the snow. Some used shovels, some used brooms, and others used salt. Although the work was tiring and time-consuming, the group cooperated quietly and didn’t quit until all the snow was cleared.

(Minghui.org) In a village in Liaoning Province lies a road full of sharp turns and uneven terrain. Liaoning is in northeastern China, and when it snowed, the road became nearly impassible due to lack of maintenance. Many vehicles could not make it up the slopes, and, to avoid accidents, some drivers opted to take a long detour around the area.
Several Falun Gong practitioners lived nearby. After some discussion, they concluded, “We practice Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance, and Master wants us to be selfless. If no one takes care of the road, then we should step in and do something about it.” So during the winter season, they came and cleared the snow. Some used shovels, some used brooms, and others used salt. Although the work was tiring and time-consuming, the group cooperated quietly and didn’t quit until all the snow was cleared.
In the first few years, passersby were curious to know who had cleared the snow. The Dafa practitioners clarified the truth about Falun Gong to those walking by as they worked to clear snow from the road. Some didn’t understand and asked, “How much money do you earn a day?” As time passed, more and more people knew that Falun Gong practitioners were the ones shoveling the snow!
The practitioners recalled some heartwarming moments over the years. Some drivers honked their horns in greeting, and some shouted, “Thank you!” Others gave them a big thumbs-up, and still others said, “Who said Falun Gong isn’t good? If they’re not good, then why are they shoveling snow?” Other comments included, “They shovel the snow every year. It’s so amazing! Falun Gong practitioners are good! Where are the Communist Party members? All they do is embezzle people’s money!” Many passengers in passing vehicles smiled and raised their thumbs.
The most moving story from this winter was when over 20 coach drivers who regularly drove on this road wanted to buy New Year’s snacks for the Falun Gong practitioners. In addition, a village cadre who heard about the practitioners’ snow-shoveling efforts offered to write them a letter of appreciation. “Falun Gong practitioners shoveling snow” became a distinctive news story in the local area.
Since 2000, this group of practitioners has not let up. Each day, thousands travel on this stretch of road. The news spread quickly and became a hot topic whenever snowy weather hit. In today’s materialistic society where people treat one another coldly and moral values are declining rapidly, the Falun Gong practitioners’ shoveling snow is a small sign of hope, and many people learn the truth about the practice. When they hear about Falun Gong, the locals recall the snow-shoveling. As a result, Falun Dafa’s beauty has taken root in the hearts of the local people.
