(Clearwisdom.net) On Christmas Day a new Internet blockade by Chinese officials caused a stir. The Chinese Communist Party’s (CCP) Central Propaganda Department, Ministry of Industry and Information Technology, Police Department, China Mobile Company, China Unicom and others — nine departments in all — issued a directive that ordered the blocking of a great number of websites.
Overnight, people could not visit many corporate websites, forums, blogs, message boards or other community programs. When various Internet users asked for reasons, they were told that many websites were filtered and blocked in the name of “anti-pornography.” In actuality, the CCP blocked all websites it does not like. No one explained to the victims of this arbitrary action when the block would be removed and no one took responsibility for the economic and reputational loss caused by the blockage.
In terms of severity and range, the current blocking of websites is unprecedented although the CCP always loves to control the Internet during holidays and so-called sensitive dates in the name of “anti-vice”, “anti-pornography” and other absurd excuses. People are now saying that this time the blockage is against “anti-communist speech.” Then, what made the CCP act in such reckless manner?
Major Events Making the CCP Afraid and Driving Them into Action
On November 19, 2009, Spain’s National Court issued judicial documents to investigate and collect evidence on the former President Jiang Zemin, Luo Gan, Bo Xilai, Jia Qinglin, and Wu Guanzheng and asked them to explain the genocide perpetrated against Falun Gong practitioners, including the inhuman organ harvesting from living Falun Gong practitioners. If the indicted persons did not respond within 4 to 6 weeks, the accused would face an international arrest, extradition and imprisonment for more than two decades. Once convicted, the judgment would result in permanent legal enforcement.
On December 17, 2009, the 9th Court of the Argentine Federal Court made a decision of historic significance. The Interpol of Argentine Federal Police Division would arrest Jiang Zemin, the former Chinese Communist leader and Luo Gan, the head of the 610 Office, for crimes committed against humanity in the persecution of Falun Gong if they entered any jurisdiction where such indictments are enforceable.
The Argentine judges took four years to investigate the matter so they could gain a thorough understanding. They also withstood diplomatic pressure exerted by the Chinese Communist regime. The judges’ team conducted a survey of Falun Gong practitioners in Argentina and in other countries that had suffered persecution in China, as well as of third-party witnesses. They consulted relevant reports by the United Nations and multilateral organizations and identified torture methods, genocide, and crimes against humanity committed by Jiang Zemin and Luo Gan in the persecution of Falun Gong.
The two decisions are based on “the Principle of Universal Jurisdiction.” No matter the nationality of a plaintiff or defendant, no matter where the crime is committed, this principle allows national courts in any country to try those who are accused of committing genocide and crimes against humanity. The countries that have sued Jiang Zemin for the crime of committing genocide, torture, and so on, are among others Belgium, Germany, Korea, Canada, Greece, Chile, Australia, Bolivia, the Netherlands, Peru, Sweden, New Zealand, Japan and the United States.
News Spreads Far and Wide
The news about these two ground-breaking court cases quickly spread through a multitude of channels worldwide. The powerful Internet and the countless sensible and diligent Internet users contributed a lot to the spread of the above. Hearing the good news from a world where freedom was cherished, where people were civilized and the rules of law applied, the people in China rejoiced and became inspired, but high-ranking Chinese officials became scared.
Employees in the Chinese state security sector, police bureaus, the military, and other agencies engaged in intelligence have easy access to all of this news. The news spread quickly to every unit within the CCP system. No matter how “harmonious” they pretend to be, the frenzied blockage of the Internet, including forums, blogs and message boards, reflects the CCP’s desperate state of mind and the mentality of fear. For them, a cover-up with the theme “anti-pornography” seems viable. At this time the CCP’s mentality toward the spread of the truth is to try to control it and deceive the public as long as they can.
There is an idiom from Chinese culture that describes a thief, who while stealing a bell, deceives himself by covering his ears, thinking that others will not hear the bell ringing if he doesn’t. The CCP apparatus is indeed covering its own ears and pretending that others don’t know the truth. In addition to the ears, people also have eyes, a mouth, a brain, hands and feet. Eyes can identify the authenticity; mouths can spread the truth; brains can analyze what is right or wrong; and hands and feet can be used to make the correct judgment!
The bell that the CCP will not hear is no longer a warning bell, but a death knell. Only by complete burial of this disastrous evil CCP can Chinese people live a good life in dignity and have a bright future!
